I had an early dinner here with friends while checking out the LA Art Show at the Convention Center. Ladies ordered the Macadamia Nut Mahi-Mahi while gents ordered the Jambalaya. Both dishes were excellent! Word of caution though: Jambalaya is pretty spicy(served with linguine or rice). Service was also great. We had crème brûlée for dessert which was a bit runny, but acceptable. After so many seafood restaurant disappointments(e.g. the Catch), this was a great experience. I would come back.

Décor and atmosphere is top notch. Very relaxing and great for small parties. Jumbo prawns were cool on ice and big and tasty, fish and chips were battered lightly and crunchy, the cocktail sauce was spicy and good with the French fries. Also tried the filet mignon which was a healthy sized selection and cooked and flavored well. The lobster tail was served out of the shell with a melted butter. All in all a bit pricey but if that’s not a problem for you budget wise it’d be great to eat there everyday. Tried the maitai which was a bit on the sour side and pulpy but not bad.

Came here before a Lakers game to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We sat in the outside patio. Service was great! Our server GiGi came to take our drink orders and bread was brought out to our table timely. We both ordered the blackened Rockfish dinner. It was good but my least favorite item on the plate was the spinach and I love spinach. It was just bland. This fish was seasoned well and tender but not dry. A teriyaki sauce was served on the side for the rice and it was very good and a great compliment for the rice. The sourdough bread served with the meal was soft and delicious. The manager came to check on us a couple of times and so did GiGi. Again great service. This is a fun place to have a delicious meal at before a game, concert, special occasion or just because. I mentioned we were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a complementary dessert. Bread pudding. It was served warm with whipped cream. It was fantastic!

Ok, first this place is BUSY! I learned to make a reservation on game night! My fiancé’ and I were going to the Laker game last week and decided to eat here over Yard House. I’m so glad we did! Like I said, it was busy but our server came by and greeted us almost right away. We both ordered a cocktail and a Calamari to start. We were happy with the drinks but the calamari was a little rubbery for my taste. My guy loved it though. I had the surf and turf and my fiancé had the Salmon. Everything was delicious! Overall, even though it was very busy and a bit noisy(i think it was some kind of pop/rock playing too) we really enjoyed Rock n Fish. Our server Ahnaise was attentive, knowledgable and very warm and welcoming. Made us feel right at home. We live in southbay and will definitely try the manhattan beach location. Yum!

We were looking for a spot to eat on New Year’s Eve before Motley Crue’s final show at the Staples Center. We had made any reservations but put our name in here and they called us in about 20 minutes. It was packed but our waiter was good. He didn’t need a paper to write down our orders. That always makes me nervous but he did it perfectly. I ended up with the Ultimate Burger and while it was tasty, it wasn’t anything that I’d highly recommend or need to head back to. My brother had the swordfish and he thought it was great. Rock N Fish serves decent food in a good atmosphere. Great spot if you’re headed to the Staple Center for an event.

I came here when it first opened for the day and it wasn’t crowded but our service was still slow. I ordered the New Orleans Shrimp which is absolutely delicious. It is a must try if you like shrimp and spicy food. I also tried the fish and chips and it was very bland. A no go on that one but the fries were tasty. They also have a lunch menu but with only certain items on it. I will try again.

Came here for lunch and ended up sitting at the bar. The place was pretty dead with only two other tables dining in. The service was good, but I was expecting the quality of the food to be a lot better then what it was since I’ve heard a lot of good things about this place. I got the pork ribs which was very soft but knew something was off about it. My friend got a soup and salad and swore that the soup was not fresh and tasted funny. I am assuming the ribs were probably old as well.(The barbecue sauce they used was nice and tangy though.) There are a lot of great options at LA live to choose from. I might be back here if I’m in the mood for fish in the future to give them another chance since I am guessing that they specialize in fish dishes hence the name.

Having received an ESPN voucher for $ 100.00 in April, lunch on Dec. 30th was decided, one day before expiration. I did eye the recently opened outdoor LA Live ice rink for future use. As we walked into the restaurant at 12:15 pm, various fans of Iowa were manning the sidewalks and some were in the restaurant. I selected a table that was away from the one area where all patrons were being pressed into, knowing, and the host knew as well, that all tables would likely be filled in short order. Inspecting the menu after wondering why above me very loud Rock music was being played, crab cakes, Longboard Beer and a pink colored mixed cocktail were selected. The main two plates ordered were Twin Lobster Tails and Kapalua Ribeye. The crab cake showed no signs of being over breaded, though not as memorable as those in Wiscasset, Maine. Both plates received sides of spicy mac and cheese, which would have been very edible had not the spiciness caused tears to develop. The lobster was not overcooked, but did benefit from the butter draw. The rib eye, with it’s highlighted marinade and my medium rare request, did fulfill my carne needs, though the sharp knife provided was used. The side of green beans were good, however the broccolini was overdone. Service was dignified, and a no charge two hour validation is offered.

If I could give zero star, I would! Food was terrible, service was slow with a side of attitude, and the dishes were filthy. First teacup given had a full on lipstick mark, the replacement teacup had lines of previous drink, and final replacement teacup had dirty finger print on it. I would have walked out after the first dirty teacup and server’s attitude but couldn’t because I was there for a work holiday lunch. Gross. I wouldn’t go back if they paid me.

Although the service was only ok the environment really is cool in this restaurant. It’s a really fun little place that I’m glad we found because the beer was excellent and the food was delicious. Definitely one of the more down to earth places in the area. I do plan to go back although I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. It is quite pricey but the food is high quality. It’s a cool place to check out.

Decent place. I went here for my friend’s bachelorette & it was good but nothing really spectacular. It is on the pricer end. I ordered the salmon sandwich & it was good. Service was alright. It was good at the beginning, before everyone arrived, but when the whole party arrived, it took awhile to get our server’s attention. It’s located in LA Live so that’s nice. I came here when they had their holiday ice skating rink up and the Christmas tree so it was beautiful to walk around after.

If you wish to go ice skating after dinner, ask for the pre fixe meals! Came here on a Saturday night to celebrate both of my sisters(late) birthdays. We came on a busy ass night and considering there was a Kings game that night the place was packed!!! I wish I got the name of our server because she took really good care of us despite the madness. We ordered a variety of plates but I could only speak for my salmon pesto pasta. Oh and the calamari. Calamari was good but how can one go wrong with the dish anyway? The salmon pesto was good. Wish I ordered it without the olives though. Really large portion and very filling. I had enough leftovers for lunch the next two days. We ordered the kona pie for dessert and although it says it serves 2, it was able to feed all 6 of us! It’s a really big slice and it definitely was my favorite part of the whole meal.

Dined at Rock N Fish on a Sunday evening before a Kings game. I’d never eaten here before and it seemed fine. The wait was about 10 minutes, while I know for a fact if you were trying to get seated at Yard House, you’d be waiting A LOT longer. I had the pulled pork sandwich, it wasn’t terrible but it was unimpressive in flavor. The sweet potato fries were ok. My boyfriend and our friend both ordered steak entrees, which they seemed to enjoy. We ordered the Kona Pie dessert, which was massive and satisfactory. Service was friendly and food arrived in a timely manner. I wouldn’t necessarily rush back and of the few dining options I’ve tried at LA Live, Rock N Fish would near the bottom of that list in terms of suggestions. I like Rosa Mexicano and although I never thought I was very fond of Yard House, I would recommend them over Rock n Fish if you’re willing to wait a long time for a table.

Strolled over to Rock N Fish with my brother after checking out the L.A. Autoshow at the neighboring convention center. It was happy hour time and this place was nearly empty which was fine by us. We just wanted to grab a bite and let the insane traffic die down before heading home. The offer 5 bucks off select plates during«Rock’n Hour» which is M-F from 3 to 6 and S-Th from 9 to close. The also have some draft beer and house wine for $ 5 during their HH. Garlic Cheese Toast– This was amazing and sad to say the highlight of the 3 items we ordered. This plate was big enough for several people to share. More of a Texas Toast style, and loaded with garlic and cheese and crispy in the right spots. Awesome. Popcorn Shrimp, not much to report here. Deep fried small shrimp in a decent batter. The shrimp themselves definitely need a dipping sauce as not much in the flavor category without the rémoulade or cocktail sauce, The«Ultimate» Burger as they have dubbed this burger was long on calories and short on flavor. Hard to believe that two fresh ground chuck patties, double melted cheddar, caramelized onions, dill pickles, crisp lettuce, tomato, spicy rémoulade, on a brioche bun, was lacking a bit but it was. Too large to for me to knock down in one sitting the patties where cooked beyond well done. The bun was also not up to the task of containing this double decker behemoth. Pricey without the discount as they charge $ 16.95 for this plate. Burger second view The staff and servers where great and attentive throughout. I am sure if I worked downtown or was at an event at Staples or DTL I would pop in here again. I would be game to sample some of the other menu items in a regular sit down meal.

Rock N Fish rocked my world. No, not really, but I did enjoy myself. I had never visited this chain before. I had some family in town, and what better place to take out-of-towners than LA Live and a Lakers game? We made a reservation and I am so glad we did. This place was PACKED. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation too(if possible). Our table tried different things on the menu. Everyone was pleased with their meal. I had the following: Kapalua Rib-Eye: Rib-Eye steak that’s marinated 72 hours with what tasted like a pineapple/terriyaki marinade, broccolini, mushrooms, sesame, pine nuts and jasmine rice. It was very good. And was a very good portion size. I would order again. The service was so-so. We felt a bit rushed by our waitress. We were a party of 6 so maybe she felt like we were taking too long with deciding on what we wanted. Who knows. Tip: Make a reservation before arriving!

Atmosphere: casual could be casual dressy Ordered items: filet mignon and ahi tuna steak I was very pleased with the filet that I ordered, it was so delicious and perfectly cooked. I believe this is a chain, the night we went it was very busy so little to no customer service. They have a large selection of Surf and turf to choose from. While you’re waiting for your meal they bring yummy sour dough bread that would be super easy to fill up on. I definitely recommend looking over the menu if you’re waiting long for a table. It is a noisy place so not a place you’d go if you want to have a long talk about life, along with that it is a bit pricy. Again I’m not complaining because everything that we ordered was cooked to perfection. Sadly the only downfall was the service, or lack there of. It was like pulling teeth to find someone and even if we didn’t they couldn’t hear us so that was discouraging.

Delicious but a bit on the salty side. I had dinner there with a friend and ordered the surf and turf which looked amazing on promotional picture outside the restaurant. The presentation of my meal was great but I was sad when I bit into my green beans and found that they were super salty! The mash potatoes were the same. The good news is that my lobster and steak were done perfectly so that was good. My friend had the seared ahi and she enjoyed her meal very much. Her only complaint was that her mashed potatoes and green beans were a bit plain. So, maybe this was just a one time mistake. Who knows. Overall, it was all ok.

I was staying at the JW Marriott for work and came down here for a bite to eat. The location is right in the center of LA Live so parking maybe a bit difficult but they do offer parking validation. Being a Sunday night at almost 8:30PM, it was pretty secluded and we were seated right away. The restaurant itself is very nice with your typical low lit intimate setting. You could have your option of sitting indoors or outdoors. We chose outdoors since indoors was actually colder than outdoors at this time. They do have a «happy hour,» which is just a discount of $ 5 on select food items as well as drinks from 3−6PM and then 9−11PM on certain days of the week(obviously not the weekend). However, I just ordered off the main food menu. I ordered the Blackened salmon Penne Pesto and my boyfriend ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork burger which came with a side of slaw and french fries but you can substitute a slide for $ 1. While we waited, we got some sourdough bread which was pretty tasty. The food was decent. I thought my dish overall was a bit on the salty side. It was drenched with pesto, almost soupy texture, with olives and mushrooms. With the dish already being a bit salty, it was really hard for me to eat the olives which made it even saltier! The crust on the salmon was also really salty but the fish was cooked very well on the side. Flaky and juicy! The sandwich/burger was about $ 18 and the salmon pasta was about $ 23. Overall, the prices here are a bit high. That being said, the service here was great, always attentive and we didn’t have to wait long.

Rock N Fish is everything I’d want out of a chain seafood restaurant. It’s not quaint, or unique, or spectacularly delicious, but it delivers. The food is decent quality, serving sizes are generous, service is good, the menu is diverse enough to satisfy most palates, and the food is consistent, as chains restaurants are wont to do. Located in LA Live, it is one of the less crowded restaurants. As such, it’s good for large groups, dining without reservations, and shorter wait times on busier nights. The grilled fish is always a safe choice. My mahi mahi is always grilled to perfection, and the serving size has always been satisfactory. I also enjoy the calamari and poke appetizers For those that do not like seafood, there are other chicken, steak and sandwich choices. Overall, the food selection is safe, but most dishes deliver. Perhaps not with flying colors, but with expected consistency. And the Rock N Roll theme is cool, I guess.
