Truman and everyone at Reanimac — thank you so much for saving my day today. My laptop died suddenly when I was in the middle of trying to reach a deadline, so I took it over and these guys fixed it (replaced the graphics card, also gave me a new battery) in less than two hours for a super reasonable price (THANK YOU!)
Friendliness and professional service is 100% above and beyond here. Awesome experience!

PROCEED WITH EXTREME CAUTION AS THIS BUSINESS IS NOT ETHICAL. This business must be paying for positive reviews so read everything carefully! Here is my story: I was in the market for a new MacBook Pro and was offered a unit by Truman at Reanimac. We negotiated my trade in along with a price for the new MacBook but then I was told the unit was sold. I let Truman know the specs I was looking for and he came back ten or so days later with a ‘new trade in’ and that «it just here» along with quoting me a higher price. Once he sent me the serial number I told him it was the exact same unit he tried selling me before. I was told that it couldn’t be so I showed him the texts to prove the serial number was the same and his response was «I’m not smart enough to figure it out. You’ll have to do it for me.» From then I told him well since it’s the same unit can we do the same price? After that no response. From just a few exchanges with this company the professionalism is non existent and neither are their ethics. I would rate this 0 stars if I could.
**UPDATE** the business had the photos removed stating «privacy» concerns. Also has still not addressed why they sent me the same serial number twice and said it was two different lap tops. The amount of excuses this business has for each poor review is comical, always someone else’s fault. Look around this business is the common denominator.
**UPDATE 2** there was no data entry error or you would have stated that in the first place when I brought it up to you, not asked me to figure out your problem. I was ready to buy the original laptop but you told me it sold so there goes you cheap argument right out the window. Anyone who reads reviews can see you always have an excuse. Look how you speak to customers on Unilocal calling them cheap, idiotic, etc. Best Buy gets more than 1 star because their employees give great customer service and don’t scam you or atleast don’t attempt to like you have. If it was the end of a sale you could have mentioned that instead you said brand new unit that walked in. Last I checked Best Buy also rectifies their mistakes and doesn’t try to blame the customer for their errors so why don’t you offer the same laptop and trade in as you did before? Waiting for your next excuse lol…

Went in with a dead laptop. It was power management or something weird. They took it in the back, fixed it quickly and put it back in my hands free of charge.
I was advised it may need more extensive repairs if it happens again but they got me back on my feet.
They seem gracious, honest and I would trust them with any and all future repairs.

Going to ReaniMac and trusting Truman was the worst computer decision I’ve ever made. Having read through the other reviews here, it’s clear that many people have had the same experience, and that Truman does not understand the concept of good customer service. He is more concerned with defending himself (which does the opposite of what he intends, making him look like a very arrogant guy with something to defend) than actually providing a good service. I am sure that some people get what they paid for, but the numbers that don’t are just too high to pretend this place is anything but a gamble, and Truman unreliable.
I walked into ReaniMac with a 6 yr old computer that was super slow and had a worn out battery. Truman convinced me that it made more sense to spend $ 550 on a new hard drive and another $ 75 on a new battery than to get a new computer. I trusted him and did so. To make a long story short, I’m having to buy a new computer anyway, but can’t get the one I want because I don’t have quite enough money now. I will say this though — when I got home and tried to use my computer after leaving Truman’s, the screen just blipped, a bunch of green pixilated stripes flashed for a minute or two, and then everything went blank. This was Friday, and I needed my computer that weekend. I called Truman, and he spent 15 minutes explaining to me why he doesn’t provide phone support and that I’d have to come back in, knowing that I lived an hour away and that I was 8 and a half months pregnant, that it was Friday evening and I wouldn’t make it on time. He refused to so much as listen to the problem I was experiencing (computer totally dead) after his service, but had enough time to ramble on about how his time was too valuable to help me, and it wasn’t financially sensible for him to troubleshoot by phone. I honestly was so disgusted, I never went back. Driving one hour in the car about to go into labor to be treated like that just wasn’t worth it to me. I did call three times the next week to talk to his other employees, who were nicer than him by far, but also just defended the position that it wasn’t their fault, it must have been something else wrong with my computer and there was nothing they could do.
Trust me, it’s not worth it, find another place to take your mac!

Fast Cheap & Quality service! Trueman and his gang was terrific! Hooked me up w/​a great deal and really worked w/​me on updating my MacAir 64gb to a 120gb SSD. They had the drive in stock, installed and data transferred and out the door in 45mins. Much better and more personable experience than Apple Store. This is the real Genius Bar ;)

So I’m not sure why there are any one star rating for this company. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Reanimac and especially Truman. There have been multiple times where they could have sold me on more expensive repairs but Truman told me that it wasn’t needed after so called experts told me it had to be done. And wallah! Truman was right and my problem was solved. Here is the thing… Truman bends over backwards for customers (myself included) but let’s be honest here, if you walk into a business and try to haggle them down on set prices or their written policy then don’t expect a friendly experience. Reanimac isn’t a swap meet or bazaar in Cairo.

Thanks for never letting go. I need to update to a one star. This guy is nuts. Don’t take your computer here, read the reviews. Very shady. Yes, I was told genuine RAM is worth more then whatever you put in mine. Also, I was told it was my fault (spill of coffee I never drink) when in fact it was a factory issue that was later recalled. If you don’t know what causes something… then you should state that not try and blame the customer. Wait, you are God Truman and know all. You are way too old to change your ways, so you just need to be avoided. I’m very pleased with my life, sounds like you need to work on yours. Find something better to do then troll year old reviews and take a chill pill. To note: YES TRUMAN CUSTOMER SERVICE IS COMPLETELY RELEVANT… hate to break it to you. You’d think all the one stars would clue you in on your disgustingness.

Can I give this place ZERO stars? These guys are impossible to deal with. The owner is threatening us at this point for a return we are trying to make. We made the return under 48 hours of purchasing because the used computer we bought wasn’t up to par or any standards they promised. My team and I have a very technical background (Ivy League tech schools) and these guys are clearly just taking advantage of people. Demented and messed up.
ps, looking at all the bad reviews where the Owner replies and apologies for the inconvenience… It’s all a load of garbage. He’s just massaging his online reputation. Everything those customers have mentioned about awful customer service is downright true.

I upgraded from a 7-​year-​old Mac Pro for music production to a new Mac Pro. All I can say is WOW! Super knowledgeable staff and very professional. I had put together a specific rig but after discussing with the sales staff I bought SSD drives and a different set up that works way better. This is why buying on the internet is a pain, you gotta read everybody’s reviews that are not pertinent to my situation. And this is a retail store that really makes me want to buy retail — people who know what they’re doing. Saved me money and time by getting the right system for my studio. Thanks guys!

I’m not so sure about of all these «5 star» reviews added in amongst all of the ONE star. Seems suspicious, especially given my experience.
The owner («Truman») has a «my way or the highway» kind of attitude. Sarcastic and not easy to deal with if you have your own opinions and don’t want to buy/​do what he says. Wasn’t crazy about the computer he sold me nor the three trips I had to make back to get it «fixed». He acted like he was doing me a favor in spending HIS time, not having any consideration for MY time.
I would certainly suggest trying to save up or even make payments on a NEW reliable mac. I know that’s not always easy, but you’ll probably be much happier in the long run!

I brought my MacBook Pro in and dealt with Ryan. This kid has a very condescending and snippy attitude to begin with. He said my computer needed a new hard drive and a new battery. I paid $ 200. When I got home my computer was freaking out and crashing repeatedly and taking forever to reboot.
I spoke with my cousin in NY who is a mac tech and he said the reason it was probably crashing is because they cloned my operating system. He said to also be careful because when they say can’t fix something they always claim it’s the motherboard and then try to make money that way. I brought my computer back to Reanimac the next day and asked Ryan about cloning my OS and he said that could be causing it. I left it there and sure enough he called me a few hours later telling me that it was the motherboard that needed to be fixed. They wanted to charge me $ 400. I told him I didn’t want to pay that amount of money to fix my computer and that I will just shop around for a good used one. He then told me that they can only reimburse me for the battery but not the new hard drive. I told him I didn’t think I should have to pay for anything since they misdiagnosed my computer. I shouldn’t have to pay for parts for them to figure out what’s wrong eventually. He then said I would still have to pay for the diagnostic. That’s unfair because they cloned my system and made the computer even worse than it was before I brought it in. I asked to speak to the owner Truman but his employees absolutely refused to put me in touch with him. Ryan said he texted him and that the owner also said I would still have to pay for the diagnostic. For all I know he never actually texted him and he’s probably lying. Regardless, when a customer asks to speak to someone higher up such as a supervisor or owner etc. they should simply do as asked.
I remember Truman working from his apartment in Hollywood about a year and a half ago and remembered that I had his cell number from then. I texted him and politely asked him to get back to me to discuss the issue and I still haven’t heard from him.
This place is really unprofessional. Ryan is negative energy and very rude. More so, they apparently think that not fixing my computer and then causing me even more problems entitles them to keep my money and rip me off. This is unacceptable and I strongly discourage anyone from using their services. I would’ve been treated with much more respect and honesty at a Melrose Mac or anywhere else for that matter.

Im not really sure where to start with this company. I was sooo supportive of this place recommending them to everyone I know as they built me an amazing product. I bought an apple care extension from them as well, but now because my mac is a refurbished, apple says my care is up because they show an earlier purchase date then mine.
This isnt even a big deal as all apple needed was a receipt of purchase from the business, but on several occasions they told me they could not get me a receipt and hung up on me and wouldnt answer my calls. They finally answered my calls and would just leave the phone off the hook.
Why would you treat someone like this that wants to support your business. Horrible bussines model and customer service or something so simple.
Based on my call with apple and the comment left by this place I am revising this:
Truman you received a 1 star which I dont mark lightly because first and foremost you guys were extremely rude with the way you handled my issues. The very first time i called and started explain my issues, which had nothing to do with the issues i needed help with (I was simply giving a small backstory on the situation) you cut me off and told me you couldnt help me before i even got to the real problem. You then hung up on me and when i preceded to ask you via sms if we can get around the fact that you dont keep receipts for 3 years, I got no response. I was upset then and now because i bought a product that was supposed to have a 3 year apple care protection (purchased). For the record i did have my receipt via paypal, however apple did not accept this has a proof of purchase and needed a purchase order from reanimac which was never given to me other then what I got via paypal.
Heres the real problem and the reason you guys continued to hang up on me. Per apple YOU ARE NOT AN AUTHORIZED Apple dealer like you said you were. Therefore you cannont sell me a 2 year extension of apple care from the date I bought my machine from you. The apple care was from when the orig buyer buy date which was about 1 year before i bought.
Sucks you guys had to lie to me about this whole process and treat me so poorly. I really liked my machine and def talked about you guys to anyone and everyone interested in buying a new machine. I was even getting ready to buy another system from you. Seems like a cheap and easy fix for you guys to keep me happy, but instead you would rather me be unhappy and spread the truth about you guys?
It is said in marketing that consumers will tell 4 – 6 people about good experiences, but tell 9 – 20 people about their bad experiences…

Had some issues with a MacBook Pro. Went to a guy (wrong answer) and my problem was worse in a flash. Then found Truman (correct answer). My laptop kept all info and works like a new machine. Getting into a desktop with Reanimac was a no brainier. Truman knew which iMac would be compatible with my current pro tools system and got it started quick. I didn’t wait long and learned a bunch.
Everything was explained to me perfectly well and he has been super communicative during this whole process.
Didn’t pay for extra things I didn’t need.
Do yourself a favor and just trust Truman. It’ll save you time and money. Time IS money in this town so that’s a lot of money.

I was really excited when I walked in. Staff seemed nice and helpful, and they quoted me $ 129 (including tax) to fix my cracked iphone 5C screen. It had been broken since January, but working fine otherwise. I finally saved up the $ 129 to get the damn thing fixed and brought it in to them yesterday. Helpful and speedy counter service, and when I came back 1 hour later, the phone was fixed. Yay! Or so I thought.
I went back to work with my phone, and as I used it last night, it felt like the home button was lower than it had been with the old screen, but I dismissed it as maybe the new glass was thicker. Then this morning at 9:31am (17 ½ hours later) I’m checking the weather on the phone, depressing the home button, and the screen cracks under the weight of my thumb. I’m 5’2″ and a tiny girl. I don’t have superhuman thumb strength. There was definitely something wrong with a) the installation or b) the glass that they installed.
Surely, I must be covered under their 30-​Day warranty, as listed on the sign in their storefront. I take it in to them at 11 when they open. The woman at the front still had her coat on. I explain what happened and she says «It’s under warranty» and that I should come back in 1 hour and it will be fixed. I go to lunch, and come by after, and the technician now tells me I must have dropped it and they won’t repair it. I can pay another $ 129 to have it fixed. I’m furious.
They argue with me over it, refuse to repair it, and tell me I can wait to talk to the owner, who is currently out. They say they’ll call him. I wait 20 minutes, nothing. I ask what his ETA is, they say he’s not answering their texts. Shady shady shady.
I take my non-​functioning phone and leave. I wanted to like these guys. I wanted to be able to recommend them to my office of 100+ people across the street. But for my trouble, I had a functioning, but cracked iphone that I paid $ 129 for them to fix, and ended up with a broken phone that won’t work, and has a crack in a different place.
Their 30-​day warranty apparently doesn’t apply to anything. I am very disappointed in their handling of this matter. It was normal use! It cracked under my thumb! For crying out loud. (Which I did. I don’t have $ 129 to spare, and don;t know what I’m going to do without a phone now.)

UPDATE — A little frustrated as was mis-​sold 1066Mhz RAM as fastest possible which is incorrect, many attempts to remedy have fallen on deaf ears… Have reluctantly brought review down from 5 to 3 stars as a result.
Truman and his team are first class! I cannot recommend highly enough, he is a life saver! Super warm and informal, I needed emergency Mac support fast and that’s exactly what I got. Since then I have returned repeatedly and cemented the relationship, Reanimac are my go to guys now. Truman has gone above and beyond any professional customer support time and again, literally delaying birthday celebrations to make certain I was 100%. Huge fan, A+ business.

My Macbook Pro trackpad started behaving erratically and I read online this usually us due to a battery issues. I went it and was helped by Jennifer with no wait, they replaced the battery in house at a competitive rate. Super friendly service, Jennifer was fantastic. She educated me on a few Macbook caring topics I didn’t know about and because my computer was slow she decided to check my hard-​drives life and found out it’s life was nearing the end. I could’ve figured out it was going out if I tuned into how long it took to open and app or doing anything really. Came back the next day and replaced my hard-​drive with a solidstate/​spinning hybrid drive for a very good rate and it took about 4 hours for them to transfer my 320 GB of data.
Parking is rough. If there isn’t spot in the little lot you’re screwed… Also there isn’t a turn lane when coming from the South on La Brea so it’s easier to circle round so you’re coming form the north.
I highly recommend!

— Great service; my machines were both significantly faster after being serviced.
— Fast service; both times my computers were ready ahead of schedule.
— Friendly staff; I immediately felt cared for and friendly with everyone who helped me!
In November 2014 I first took my 15″ Macbook Pro from 2008 (yeah) to the Mac Store to find out what could potentially be done with it; it was taking forever to boot up and just getting/​surfing online was like watching paint dry. Not unexpected for an old machine but of course, the Mac Store said it was dead and I should buy a new machine.
I live in Hollywood and had driven by Reanimac a million times but on a whim I decided to stop by on my way home. I immediately met Truman and Ashley (I also met a 2^nd, wonderfully friendly woman whose name I never got; sorry but you’re awesome no less!). I explained the situation, showed them my machine and they immediately explained the possible issues and options with pricing. I left my Macbook there on the spot. I believe they told me there’d be a 3 day turnover.
The next day, they gave me a call to confirm that a new hard drive was necessary, and gave me a quote: $ 250 to essentially have my Macbook working like new, expecting to pickup in 3 days. They called the next day (a day early) and my machine worked like new. Essentially, I’ve got a like new Macbook for $ 250!
A few weeks ago, I took my 2010 desktop iMac in for a new hard drive (it was running slow as well). I have no complaints. Ashley helped me again; I got an upgraded hard drive and the machine works great! I even took it back in for a separate issue the following day (had nothing to do with the hard drive!). Truman and Ashley diagnosed on the spot and again, very clearly explained my options.
Solid work is always expected and I got it, but I have to say a great attitude and BFF-​er friendly service will keep me coming back. For any Mac repair needs, Reanimac will be my first stop!

I was operating on a very old computer. Never had the money to buy a brand new macbook. Truman hooked it up with a refurbished body with all the bells and whistles of a new computer, while educating me on the differences of the latest models and past versions of the hardware. Worries aside, I’m rocking a new computer.
In short, you can go to apple and buy a shiny laptop for $ 1400-​$ 2500, or you can go to reanimac and get a less shiny, same product machine for half the price of apple.
I’d rather give my money to the underground guy.
