We Specialize in restoration, re-wiring of lighting fixtures; lamps, chandeliers, etc;. In addition, we carry various antique lamps and lighting fixtures.
Ray is a nice guy but open only 6 hours a day(right when everyone is working — every time I get a chance to go there its closed.) And, they lost my lamp. It’s true that Ray is pretty cool but the staff is neither good nor conscientious.

I took a antique lamp shade in to get repaired. It was a interesting bent glass lamp lamp shade with one broken glass panel. The problem was my wife gave it to someone to repair and it came back in pieces, with bent wire frame, it was a mess. I showed it to the owner Ray, he shook his head, and told me who made the glass, described the process to produce the glass, then asked me what kind of lamp did the shade fit on. I told Ray I had no idea what kind of lamp it is, but it’s in my car. Ray asked me to bring it in, I told him it was a little heavy, so he said lets go take a look. We went out to my car, I opened my tail gate and unraveled the blanket covering the lamp. Ray went nuts! He couldn’t believe I had this lamp, he informed me that the lamp belonged in a museum, then he told me the lamp shade I was trying to get repaired did not belong on my lamp. Ray is searching for a period replacement shade, that he said would light this lamp on fire, and match the quality that this lamp deserves. This is a lamp that has been in my wife’s family for over 100 years, and no one was aware of the significance this lamp carried. I had never met this man Ray before, however, I can tell you I would not hesitate to walk in this shop and purchase a lamp, get a lamp repaired, or ask Ray to find a specific item you are looking for. This man is a 80’s something Gem.

Stellar customer service! Been looking for someone to do restoration on my mid-century lampshade for years. They did a complete restoration at a very reasonable price and exceeded my expectations in every way.

I have used Ray Ferra’s many times in the past, and had always been pleased with the work. I always enjoyed talking to the proprietor, Mr. Ferra. However, I think the business has really changed as Mr. Ferra has aged and new employees have been hired. In June 2015, I brought him 4 sconces to rewire and clean up. Upon receipt of the job, however, one of the sconces’ finish was badly damaged. I complained and even brought a ‘before’ photograph to the shop to show them that the damage was not there previously. Mr. Ferra and his employees were incredibly rude, dismissive, and refused to even look at the photograph which clearly showed no damage. They pushed me out of the shop, refusing to take responsibility for their shoddy workmanship. It’s a shock that what was once a gem of a place can now not be trusted. Think twice before visiting Mr. Ferra and his untalented staff.

This store and Jay are awesome! Jay knows his lamps and parts. Jay is personable and he has a great shop with so many cool, unique lamps, shades and parts! I needed a larger fitter for my antique bridge lamp and art deco shade that I purchased separately and instead of bringing the whole lamp in, he went in the back, found a fitter from the 1800’s and told me how to put it on easily.

I got a gorgeous lamp here a year ago for my boyfriend’s birthday and it remains one of my favorite gifts I’ve ever given. These guys have an excellent selection, wide range of product, and great quality. While I was shopping around I brought in an old lamp of mine to be repaired. The gentleman kindly explained that the repair needed was so intensive that it probably wasn’t worth the trouble. I respect and appreciate the honesty, and would definitely come back next time I’m in the market for a new lamp.

These guys are the nicest people on the planet. I came here to buy chandelier tubes and they cut them into the length I needed for free. They gave me a bunch of extra back up tubes since I was going to mail them to my dad abroad. I tried to give them a tip and they refused to take it. Best customer service ever.

I found this store on Unilocal and am so glad Unilocal exists. They were wonderful. To them it was an easy fix for my floor lamps that were broken during transport of our move to Los Angeles. They also had 2 matching antique finials that replaced those that were lost in the move. And the great fix was to make a matching lampshade to one that had been destroyed. Loved the store. Best yet they have parking in the alley behind the store.

Ray is very helpful and an expert in what he does. Eyeballed a unique antique piece and knew exactly what it was.

I have a lamp that had snapped in half a couple of years ago and I couldn’t find anyone who would fix it.(No one wanted to risk breaking it in the process and apparently that seemed like a pretty high risk to most people) The lamp is a wonderful mid-century piece with unique construction, but I was considering getting rid of it, as it seemed a hopeless situation. I brought it to Ray and immediately knew it was in the best hands it could be. He and the other guys at the shop really appreciated the lamp and marveled over its design. Their passion was very reassuring, so I gave the okay to try anything they could think of to fix it(and accepting the risk that it may not survive). If they couldn’t do it, no one could. A week or two later, Ray called to say they had fixed the lamp! They connected the metal poles so precisely that you can’t even tell that it had been broken, and I was expecting to spend hundreds and hundreds but the price was so incredibly reasonable. I was blown away. I will definitely come back and recommend it to anyone who has a lamp to be fixed.

Another great job done by Ray and his crew. I brought in a lamp shade that needed the lining replaced. I thought it would come back with a standard«paper» lining, which would have been just fine. Instead, it came back with a nice fabric liner that was impeccably sewn in. Better than I ever thought it would look! Cost a bit more than he originally quoted, but totally worth it. Thank you, Ray!

I bought 2 lamps at the Rose Bowl and both of the chords were shredded so I took them to Ray and he repaired both. Everyone that works in there is super knowledgable and helpful. This place is a total museum inside which is a plus.

Ohhhh where to begin!!! Found this place on a referral and have been a loyal follower since! I say follower because Ray [the owner] is truly a GOD! Okay, maybe that’s a small exaggeration… but he certainly comes close and I always enjoy going into his shop. Initially, I had him re-wire and cut down a pair of old, solid brass lamps I found at a thrift store and have since had him fix and rewire a huge, vintage Spanish chandelier, rewire two vintage mini spot lights, and make a pendant lamp out of an old Moroccan thing I got at an estate sale… all of which I love. He is as honest as the day is long, has a genuine passion for finding cool vintage pieces [hence why his shop is so full] and know his shit!!! I absolutely DREAD the day that man finally retires, which hopefully being a God and all will be never. And for those who hate dealing with LA parking issues, he has a lot in the back, so parking isn’t ever an issue. Cannot recommend this place enough… total find!!! :O)

I had two lamps in need of fixing, one particular from the 1940’s… I am very protective of my vintage items and couldn’t be more pleased and trusting of Ray. He fixed both lamps for very little and took great care of my lamps! He was such a gentleman walking me to my car carrying my lamps,(he certainly didn’t have to) and I will be sure to return with any future gems I need fixing. :)

Just stopped in to get two vintage table top lamps repaired. Ray was really great — so helpful, friendly, and very knowledgable. He gave me some quick tips on shining/cleaning the lamps, explained why they were having problems, oiled them up and fixed them free of charge. The shop is filled to the top with vintage and antique lamps and fixtures. It’s amazing. He was so incredibly nice, I will definitely be back if I ever need any sort of repairs(or if I am in the market to purchase something new)!

This place was amazing. The owner is so nice and fixed my lamp perfectly in a day. I brought it home and realized that I forgot to bring him the shade which needed to be put on while they were fixing it. I brought it back the next day and he redid the whole job– adding in the shade for no cost at all. The whole thing took all of 2 hours. They are wonderful here and I wouldn’t go anywhere else to get a lamp fixed! He also sells beautifully refurbished antique lamps.
