They do a great job at tailoring everything from jeans to suits to formal dresses. Their prices are pretty reasonable too, for the area. Would definitely recommend.

Been going here for years. By far the best alterations joint in greater Los Angeles. Altered my suit for my wedding to perfection, does my shorts, jeans, and custom fits all my shirts. NEVER ONE issue. Thank you!

I took a brand-​new $ 700 Calvin Klein suit to be tailored here recently. Unfortunately the tailor ruined the hemming of my pants because the bottom four inches of the pant leg is permanently creased and ruined. I asked for them to fix the pants, to which they replied that this was the best they could do! I was so furious and demanded an explanation. However both the cashier (the owner’s daughter) and the owner/​tailor (Arturo) were extremely rude, saying that the pants were fine and that there was nothing they could do to fix it! Arturo went so far as to kick me out of his store for questioning his seamster abilities. I was so outraged! I have been to many tailors in the past and have never experienced this much incompetence and utter rudeness. My brand-​new $ 700 suit is ruined. How are these people still in business, even after all the negative reviews on here???

Rancho Tailor are experts to very difficult alterations. I have ben going to Ranch Tailors for over a decade, at one point, flying from NY amd bringing my alterations to Rancho. No one company is perfect, we are all human beings, but I will say Rancho stands behind their work and always made sure I was happy.

I feel like I just got robbed from a shady mechanic. I am so disappointed in myself for continuing to go to Arturo and his rude daughter Janet. This one is on me but don’t make the same mistake.
DO NOT go to Rancho Tailors. They are rude, lazy and dishonest. Everything you read on the one star reviews is true. The work is sloppy at best. Janet is awful to deal with. She would prefer to argue, smirk and laugh at you than help. They’ve ruined the last article of clothing for me. It’s a shame a poor Unilocal review is the only recourse for them. If you’re not being shady, put the cost of the service on my ticket so I know how much cash to bring you.
They didn’t even touch the jacket I brought in. I have to take it to another tailor to get it done which she thinks is funny somehow.
I would really prefer to give nice reviews. I’m going to make a point of reviewing more positive places so these negative ones don’t go unnoticed.

My, have the mighty have fallen. I used to love this place and have been going here for the past 7 years. I’ve even recommended numerous friends and family to their business because I was a loyal fan. My last experience here was the absolute worst display of customer service I’ve ever encountered in my life. I consider myself a fair, reasonable and very forgiving person, so the fact that this experience still makes my blood boil is saying a lot.
I brought in a cream colored blazer that I’ve brought in to dry clean several times before with no issue. When I picked it up this last time around, the blazer was a dyed gray with all stains still present. I calmly and politely brought this to the daughters attention and even showed them the receipt that their OWN employee wrote up for it describing it as a CREAM colored jacket. She admitted that it does look gray, but then proceeded to get defensive and shifted the blame on me, saying that I brought it in that way, that their own employee meant to write gray, not cream (WHAT?!), that they farm their dry cleaning out, thus are not responsible, that nothing was done wrong anyway and that I need to stop asking about it. Excuse me, but you are responsible for your affiliates poor work if you’re putting your name on it and facilitating that service. Arturo then proceeds to come out nowhere, guns blazing, with fire in his eyes, yelling at me saying it was all my fault, that I know nothing about dry cleaning (uh I wasn’t trying to act like I knew) and accusing me of being difficult. He then urges his daughter to throw me out. Mind you, I was calm, polite and collected the entire time, so his insane, angry tirade made me I think I was in crazy town for a minute. Did I run his cat over or something and not know it? It was mind boggling.
Bottom line, all I wanted was an apology and for them to take responsibility for this mishap and that was it. If they had simply done that, I still would’ve been a loyal customer. I realize not all businesses are going to hit it out of the park 100% of the time, but it’s the level of service that brings customers back. I’m appalled that they would choose to treat their longtime customers, and one who has brought them additional business like absolute trash all for simply asking about a mistake. I will never come here again and I urge anyone reading these reviews to stay FAR away, unless of course you like paying for terrible workmanship and getting berated and yelled at for asking about it.

I bought a dress at a boutique that needed to be altered. The man I bought the dress from recommended Rancho Tailors. I had a good first experience but the last three times were subpar. I excused the shoddy workmanship because of the good first experience & the cheap prices. This however was the last straw! I go in and the robust girl at the front desk has THE WORST attitude and told me I was lucky my things were still there because of their 30 day policy. I told her I had never received a text or a voice message and she proceeded to tell me she wasn’t going to argue with me. The jacket I had left was my grandmothers, so it was more of a keepsake with sentimental value vs something I would actually wear. My point to her, was had I received any sort of message that my clothes were going to be given away, I would have ran to retrieve them!
CAUTION RANCHOS WILL KEEP YOUR CLOTHES!!!

Longtime customer here, had dozens of items tailored with Arturo over the last six or seven years but alas the service has become so miserable I will not be back. This is strike 3 and I’m tired of how rude the staff, particularly Arturo’s daughter is. Shame because I used to swear by how good they were and have recommended them to many friends in the past. Arturo if you read this or if you ever read some of the other reviews here you should really act before it’s too late. Everyone says the same thing, poor service and rude staff. No loyalty to longtime customers. Lazy work and poor effort to make customers happy. No pride in tailoring left here. Real shame as I used to love the place.

Best. Tailor. Ever. I love everything about this place; the staff, the skills, the service, the awesome results and finally… the low prices! The only hassle is parking sometimes, but hey… I would park a mile away and walk here to get my tailoring done. A nice local family business that needs to be supported… they have won me over to make me a customer for life.

The worst service ever. The lady in her 30’s that works the front. Omg the worst customer service I have seen in my entire life. She has the worst nonchalant attitude, disrespectful, not helpful, I don’t care attitude, never smiles and very rude. Run when you see her. I will not be going back there ever. McDonald’s gives better service

There are too many good tailors on the Westside who actually want and appreciate your business. Arturo is shockingly unprofessional and beyond arrogant. After verbally abusing me because I asked an innocent question about a dress I wanted reworked, he continued to harangue and follow me out when I decided to cut my losses and leave. He actually taunted me, saying «See, now you run away?» And his response when I asked in disbelief how in the world he has the positive reviews he does? «Because I’m good, baby.» Wow. At least he stayed true to form — rude and condescending from beginning to end. Oh, and by the way. NO ONE is so good that you can justify that kind of behavior towards a customer.
I ended up taking my dress to Seang Tailors in Westwood and they did an AMAZING job, and Mrs. Kim is so sweet!

I used to love this place! I’ve been going there for years, and Arturo himself is fabulous. Unfortunately, the staff are terrible. They are rude and careless to a client’s needs.
I brought my teenage son with two new suits that he needed for a special event. Arturo’s daughter did the fitting and was quite rude in the process. She looks bored to be there. Long story short, I went to pick up the suits and the jackets were both way too big on him. They needed to be redone. The daughter fitted him again and they told me it would be a week till the jackets would be ready. Tuesday at 4 pm. I needed the first suit for the Tuesday evening and asked if I could get it any earlier. 2 pm? 2:30? The answer was no. They didn’t care that they were the ones who messed up. They didn’t care that the jackets didn’t fit (by quite a bit!) and, they didn’t care that I needed it for a specific event. The difference of two lousy hours a full week away was enough for them to lose a customer that had been going to them steadily for years! I said exactly that, and they just shrugged.
I’m only sorry for Arturo, who is truly excellent at his craft and who built a once thriving business. He doesn’t deserve this, but unfortunately his family and staff have dragged the business way down.
After being a customer for many years and recommending Rancho Tailor to many friends, I have to say this was the last straw. I found another tailor who will fix the jackets with time to spare. I’m never going back.

DO NOT give them your business. WORST experience I’ve ever had. I asked for them to cinch my bathing suit. When I picked it up, there were threads sticking out and pen marks on it. I asked them about it and they denied using a pen and when I tried to explain the sloppy stitching they immediately were offended and asked me to leave. «Don’t you want customer feedback when something isn’t made correctly.» She said «no I don’t care. Leave and never come back». She refused to redo the stitching and kicked me out of the store. And she claims to be the manager and owner. Disgusting!!!

There isn’t enough terrible things I can say about this shop. I had been going to them for literally 15 years. In the past few years, I saw their work product drop drastically, as well as their customer service. If I could write whatever I wanted about Arturo and his disgrace of a daughter, I would go on for days and only upset myself more. They’re rude, arrogant, disrespectful, and blame all of their terrible work on customers. This has happened to multiple people I know who go there, and even to random customers I see in the store. One girl even stormed out before they got to her turn because of the way they treated the girl in front of me. They have destroyed expensive articles of clothing I’ve brought to them, including designer dresses, skirts, and blouses. They altered both my boyfriend’s and my father’s suits to the point where they couldn’t be salvaged. (2 of them were Gucci.) I can’t stand this place. I wish I had the patience to post pictures of the terrible work they do. It’s so sad that they’ve become this way. I wish I could give my phone number out to whoever is on the fence about going Rancho so I could set them straight. They do a shitty job, make you feel like shit for it, and then basically spit on you on your way out.

This used to be my go to place but when I lived on the Westside. Over the years I would highly recommend their work to everyone but things must of changed for the worst. The people I used to send now say they were rude, did a poor service and was never ready on time. They used to have 4 ½ stars but after this last visit I can see why this place has slipped.
Their quality has become so bad it’s almost insulting. I got a couple of pairs of pants shortened and they are uneven and look awful on the side and I got a vintage romper fitted too. The sewing is all loose and is coming apart even before I’ve worn it and they didn’t do the job I was told they would for the alteration process. I now live in the South Bay so it’s not worth my time to go back to get anything fixed. I have just now learned my lesson and will never return and can not recommend anything about them.

It’s very sad to say that after being a loyal customer for more than 11 years and bringing many of my friends and family to Rancho Tailors, something has gone horribly awry here. I began to notice that the quality of work I came to know and expect was no longer there. Items were sewn as if some was just learning how to do a simple stitch, many times items came back with the markings and safety pins still in them because they had forgotten to tailor it even though I was charged and paid. I don’t know if they have too much work to do or they just don’t care anymore but DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO PRESERVE YOUR CLOTHES!
When I began to have to come back after every time of picking something up, the lower prices did not matter any more because I was spending time and gas coming back two or sometimes even three times. This was also happening to my friends that were going there too. When I finally asked what was happening lately and if someone new was working there I was met with Janet’s (the daughter) blank stare who told me I can go somewhere else if I didn’t like it. This is after 11 years of loyalty, tons of business and even holiday gifts. Her family does not care about retaining long time customers. Arturo acts like it’s no big deal if they forgot to do something and presumes that everyone has the time to just sit around for another 30 minutes while they fix the mistakes or come back the next day.
Stitches are uneven, holes are patched up with the wrong color thread (no joke, white thread on a black sweater, could not even believe that was done), and hems are different lengths.

Very rude

My love affair with Rancho Tailor & Cleaners was short.
Though hesitant at first, I came here on the enthusiastic recommendation of a good friend who vouched for their great work and customer service. I had a few shirts dry cleaned and was sold by the amazing $ 3 price tag (cash only).
A few months in, I decided that I trusted this place enough to bring my nicer items to be cleaned. I knew they outsourced their dry cleaning and in hindsight, I should have paid attention to this red flag. Regardless, I brought in a beautiful 100% silk top and a pair of 100% silk shorts to be cleaned on separate occasions.
The problem started with the top. I didn’t examine it at the shop (I should have), but when I looked at it at home, I was shocked to see two VERY large safety pins had been pierced through the middle of the material to attach it to the hanger. I was annoyed, but chose not to say anything since the top was old and it had already been a week since I picked it up from Rancho.
About a month later, I picked up a pair of 100% silk shorts that Rancho had dry cleaned. When I took the plastic cover off at home, I was very upset by what I saw! Again, the dry cleaners had used LARGE safety pins to pierce the waist band of the shorts to attach it to the hanger. The pins left four obvious holes in the material! Because the shorts were brand new, I decided to speak up.
I called the shop, explained the issue, but the woman on the phone did not apologize. Instead, she told me that they don’t do the actual dry cleaning at Rancho so they’re not responsible for what happened, they’re mainly a tailor shop, and that the dry cleaning service was an extra courtesy they give to their tailoring customers. However, she did tell me to bring the garment in so she could see the problem in person.
That same afternoon, I stopped by. Again, no apology. She said pinning clothing to hangers was typical of every dry cleaner and that she could make a suggestion to the shop they outsourced to, but who knows if they’ll listen. I was frustrated by this answer, but before I could say anything more, she took the shorts in the back to see if steaming would help lessen the appearance of the holes.
The icing on the cake in this whole fiasco was the attitude of Arturo, the owner. He was present during this entire time and truth be told, I had been nothing but calm and polite. When the woman (his daughter, I’m assuming) brought the shorts back out, the holes DID look better, but were not completely gone. Seeing my look of dissatisfaction, he chimed in to say that using safety pins on clothing was standard among dry cleaners and that all clothing had holes, the safety pins only made a few holes bigger (I’m serious, he said this).
When I responded with, «Yes, but the shorts are 100% silk, so I would have thought the cleaners would have taken better care of them…“Arturo said, «Well, no one can read your mind.» I’m assuming he meant that I had to TELL them to TELL the cleaners that these were quality shorts and that they should take better care of them? Honestly, I was completely baffled by the words coming out of his mouth. He went on to say that I was «too picky» and that I needed to relax and «enjoy life,» essentially dismissing my problem as stupid and petty.
Well, Arturo, in the big picture that is actually some sound advice but telling this to your customers to smooth over the fact that your affiliates handled expensive clothing poorly doesn’t really help your reputation or business.
So there you have it. If you love crappy customer service and don’t care about your clothing jabbed full of holes, then I would come here. You definitely get what you paid for.

I left a dress to be shorten… It was poorly sew and UNEVEN… When I complained their answer was: ‘we take measurements according to the clients’ body so besides a bad work they told me Im uneven!
I was hopping to get a discount after their ruin my dress… But I paid full price.
If you like your clothes do not go here. I highly recommend Gustavos Tayloring in westwood blvd! Thats someone that knows how to fix a dress!
NO ARREGLES tu Ropa aqui! Deje un vestido para agarrar el ruedo… Estaba muy muy mal hecho. Totalmente disparejo. Cuando me queje me dijeron q las medidas se agarraban de acuerdo al cliente… Osea ademas de hacer un mal trabajo me dijeron amorfa. Esperaba que me dieran un descuento despues de arruinar mi vestido, pues no, pague el precio completo.
Si te gusta tu ropa no comentas mi error! No la lleves aqui.. Les recomiendo Gustavos Tayloring in westwood blvd! Ese si sabe como arreglar un vestido!
