History

Established in 1975.

R&X Compounding Pharmacy is an independent, full-service, compounding pharmacy that has been operating since 1975. It’s your source for all your pharmaceutical needs, offering both conventional and alternative medicines. We are dedicated to providing you the service, selection and competitive prices you deserve. As a professional compounding pharmacy, we can provide medicines tailored to the patient’s specific needs and prepared to the doctor’s exact specifications.

We are located in the city of Los Angeles, one of Southern California’s most dynamic and rapidly growing coastal communities. In addition to our local community, we take pride in serving a national clientele.

«Your neighborhood pharmacy, finding solutions wherever your neighborhood might be.» Because we ship nationally, the three most important things for our business aren’t «location, location, location,» but «service, service, service!» We believe it is the service we provide that separates us from our competition.

What is the difference between a regular pharmacy and a compounding pharmacy?

Regular pharmacies only offer medications already mass-produced on the market. Compounding pharmacies like R&X Compounding Pharmacy specialize in making custom-tailored drugs, in addition to offering the same non-compounded and over-the-counter drugs that patients can obtain from regular pharmacies. What is compounding? What’s a compound?

Compounding is the process of mixing drugs by a pharmacist to fit the unique needs of a patient. For example, a patient allergic to the dyes used in a pill can obtain a doctor’s prescription for the necessary medicine to be compounded without the offending dye. Compounded medicines (called «compounds») are custom-formulated to provide an alternative when commercially prepared medicines do not address your specific needs.
