QWENCH Juice Bar

Love this smoothie/​juice bar joint. I’d recommend each and every one of their smoothies. Even if it’s a fruit, veggie or protein one. Also, I love going to this Qwench location is because the employees know me well.

Always make a pit stop here when I go to nearby barbershop.
Fresh ingredients, fresh cold brew coffee and fresh sandwiches without fail.

You can tell a lot about a place by simply judging how they make they their cappuccinos– and this place does not disappoint! Amazing. Love their coffees, and their juice/​bowl options. So healthy, fresh, delicious; made right before your eyes. Add friendly service to the mix and you’ve got yourself a favorite go-​to spot!

Ordered the Real OG. The smoothie was good but the Greek yogurt gave a sour after taste. The setup is semi confusing, as it shares the same space with the Drink coffee shop. Looks like you can order both coffee and smoothies from one cashier – turns out you CANT.
Employees were polite and parking is easy (under utilized private lot). Will try the acai bowl next time!

I got an original Acai bowl here, and it was okay. I’ve had Acai bowls all around Cali, since I’m on vacation, and I’ve had better. It’s still pretty good if you’re really craving it. The people who work there are really nice too!

finally went for the first time loved it i was kind of interested in their hemp milk so i asked the girl to see if i could try it. it was very delicious it kind of reminds me of almond milk. the prices are reasonable and they are very professional
the drinks seem very natural and are not full of sugar. love this place

I came here for an acai bowl based on other reviews I read on Unilocal.I got the original bowl, and instead of getting bananas on top I asked for all strawberries (don’t like the texture of bananas). They said no problem or I could switch to anything else from this little list they had at the register! I placed my order and was waiting for the bowl, and was looking over the rest of the menu. Decided to also get a Goliath protein smoothie.
AMAZING! I can’t believe how good they both are! At first I felt silly paying $ 8.90 for an acai bowl and $ 8 for a smoothie, but they are both so delicious. Still overpriced (hence the 4 stars) but so good!

Favorite morning pit stop for the AM Fix (add blueberries) or an Acaí bowl. Great selection of fresh fruits & smoothies, and they are not as pricey as other juice stops.

I come here for my fresh juices and smoothies. The staff are super friendly and courteous. The place is neat, organized and welcoming. They have a wide selection of healthy choices.
This is my fave healthy place to go to!

Love the G-​Bowl here (acai blended with almond milk, greek yogurt, strawberries and banana, topped with granola, strawberries, coconut, almonds and honey). Not cheap at $ 9.50, but it does serve as a meal replacement (unlike juices that cost almost as much and people claim are enough for a meal but really aren’t. It’s a fairly large bowl loaded with goodness. Note that it is very cold — like eating a smoothie out of a bowl, so it’s very refreshing on a hot day. If you like fruit and you like smoothies, you’ll like the acai bowls.

I come here once a week/​once every other week and am always very satisfied with the smoothie and juice options. Qwench has a variety of offerings ranging from sweet and fruity to the more health-​conscious green/​lettuce choices. The location splits a building ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ with a DRNK coffee shop, so coming with a friend who isn’t in the mood for a smoothie is a great option. My favorites/​go-​tos on the menu are the Kale or Spinach Greens, PB&H, and the Greatfruit; though I have yet to order anything I actively disliked. The added infusions are a great offering as well as their shots (wheatgrass, lemon/​ginger/​cayenne, and root/​beet) for a quick healthful addition.
My 1 star deduction is because of the service. They’re generally fast and efficient about getting orders in and taken care of; however, there is definitely a severe lack of hospitality and courtesy. I usually end up feeling as if my order is a bother to the employees and they would 100% rather be doing anything else. I understand this isn’t a super glamorous job, but you’re here to do it, so a smile and vague sense of politeness can go a long way.
Other than that, the place itself is always very clean, organized, and generally well run. There is a parking lot behind the shop for a handful of cars, and plenty of parking nearby (if the street is full, use the Off Broadway Shoes parking lot, as they never pay attention or mind for a quick juice stopover).

I have the green tea smooth. it was delicious.
The layout and staff on the other hand, no so great. There is nowhere to sit unless your ok with sitting in direct sunlight with an inoperable umbrella and the staff look disheveled. I found this particularly gross since they weren’t using gloves.

love stopping here in the morning on my way to work. Even better is that they have a parking lot, which is usually a deciding factor when finding somewhere to eat in the Hollywood area. I have been happy with my juices overtime I have been here. Service is fast and there is also coffee for those coffee lovers.

i am by no means a crazed superjuicer but i stopped by here on my way to work in the morning feeling like i was in need of something healthy after a night of fried food and alcohol (oh the guilt. guilt is the stuff the juicing kingdom is built upon). i usually go to nektar in west hollywood but it wasn’t open that early. so i tried to order my usual «apple, kale, and spinach» custom combo with light on the apple (im trying to drink my veggies here people… aint nobody got enough insulin for drinking juice made from 20 apples), and the employee told me they couldn’t do «light apple» because basically 1) they are either too lazy to juice that much kale and spinach (it takes a lot of kale and spinach to make a small amount of juice) or 2) they are too cheap to juice that much kale and spinach (same reason as before). so i opted for some carrots thrown in there as well.
i watched them make the juice and was dismayed to see about 5 small pieces of kale and about 10 pieces of spinach used to make about an ounce of «juice.» anyone who juices knows it takes a giant bowl of kale and spinach to make several ounces of juice. then they threw in about 8 carrots and 5 apples to fill up the rest. so basically i paid $ 9 for some carrots and apples. the juice was not green, it was orange-brown…what an appealing color. at nektar it’s always a nice rich green color because THEY ACTUALLY JUICE VEGETABLES. WHAT A CONCEPT.
there’s a private parking lot in the back. one star for i guess giving me a product that i paid for (hey, i’m reaching here), and another star for a private parking lot.

Ok juices here are great! I like the little patio seating outside in the back — it’s hidden but cute!
Customer service is not.
I’ve been twice and the people always end up in the back and once someone waited 10min to receive their already made smoothie but couldn’t get it because the guy was chilling in the back.

There appear to be two businesses in this one space. Qwench, which is Jamba Juice-​ish stuff on the left, and DRNK, which is coffee and other Starbucks-​y stuff on the right. Both need to learn how to spell.
On the Qwench side:
Me: I’d like a P-​BOWL, please.
Employee: That’ll be $ 9.15, please.
Me… (delirious from moving stuff all night last night and all morning this morning) Excuse me, but what did I just buy?
Employee: It’s… Um…
Me: Is it like a bowl of cereal? Granola or something?
Employee: It uh… heh…
Me: [You don’t really know, do you.] ?
Employee: Heh heh… I… uh… er…
Me: It’s fine. It’s fine. I’m sure it’s very healthy, whatever it is.
Employee: Yeah, sorry about that!
Me: No worries! [So I have no idea what I’m buying and you have no idea what you’re selling, but at least we can agree that it’s $ 9.15. And it looks good in the picture.]
It turned it, basically, to be a Robeks-​esque açai berry shake poured into a bowl with ingredients like strawberries, nuts and powders arranged upon it in neat rows. I think I was supposed to stir it into a shake and drink it with a straw, but they provided only a spoon. The advertising on the wall claims that the P-​Bowl contains hemp milk, so I’m high and have stronger teeth and bones for the moment. Right?
I’d post a picture of the actual thing, but was starving and completely out of it, so I ate it before thinking to do that. It was less glamorous than advertised, but well-​presented (see photos by others) and really tasty. Decidedly overpriced for a shake in a bowl. I don’t know how caloric it was as calorie counts were not on display, but I’d be shocked if it weren’t loaded with sugar.
Service was excellent, and the place was clean and had an appealing aesthetic (see my photos).
On the DRNK side:
Try the Ethiopian coffee, it’s really good!

The grapefruit smithy was yummy! The 2 staff members were really helpful and it was my 1^st time there.
Actually had a sample of the Bluterra, blueberry and Nutella YUMMY!

This place just opened in place of Robek’s. It’s quite similar to Robek’s in the fact that a majority of the smoothies are juice-​based meaning that there are likely hundred of grams of sugar in these types of smoothies. However, I definitely feel like Qwench juice bar seems a bit more natural and health-​conscious than Robek’s, so I was very excited to try it out.
I was starving when I got there, so I opted for the more filling option of an acai bowl. It was delicious, however my only criticism is that the acai base is far to runny. An acai bowl should be super thick on the bottom. So thick, in fact, that you have to scrape it out of the blender because it’s too thick to pour. The acai bowls instantly started to melt because the base wasn’t thick enough, so that was a bit annoying.
All in all though, it was still great and this place was certainly a great find because there are a lack of other healthy restaurants in the Hollywood & Highland area.

This used to be Robeks, which I frequented quite often, now it’s Qwench. The difference is pretty much lost on me; it’s basically exactly the same as it used to be and shares a space with Drnk the coffee place, which also serves bagels and pastries.
As far as juice they have all the typical offerings and several smoothie options. Like I said, what happened to Robeks? Who knows, who cares, this is exactly the same for all intents and purposes.
So here was my review on Robeks so you can get what this place still is (smoothie names have changed):
I used to live in Washington DC (it sucks don’t ever go there) and there was a Robeks right down the street. I went so often in fact that they took my polaroid and hung it on the wall with a bunch of other’s who probably drank so many fruit smoothies we paid the rent for Robeks.
I thought that it was a local place, but here I am years later in LA and there’s a Robeks right down the street, so naturally I find myself here often. It’s always pretty busy when I come in, so you may have to wait a bit.
There’s both indoor and outdoor seating, plus the space is shared with a bagel and coffee place DRNK! Who have great bagels if you want to eat 5,000 carbs on top of 500 grams of sugar in your smoothie. The setup is not unlike those Interstate truck stops that have a TCBY, Burger King, and a Pizza Hut all in the same space, you have to pay separately and wait in two different lines, but they are under one roof and share seating.
As far as drinks, I HATE bananas, the taste the texture, it’s all mushy and reminds me of baby diarrhea, so anything with bananas is immediately off the table. They tell me that they can just not add the bananas but I always feel like it would be missing something without it, so I get the best banana free option and that’s the ACAI EnerGIZER™ — A natural energy boost with antioxidant rich acai and soy protein.
I always think I am being so healthy having a smoothie, but I recently heard that you should drink your vegetables and eat your fruits. So hopefully these smoothies are not secretly making me fat. They do have pressed juices and kale veggie type drinks, but I can’t bring myself to go that route. Hey it’s better than a chocolate milkshake, so baby steps people!

The old Robecks is back as a Qwench. They have two counters– one for juice and one for food/​coffee. It’s really clean and nice inside. The juice is really good– I like the kale greens and bluetella which is nutella and blueberries.
The staff is cool, and there are usually some really cute girls that are either coming or going from a workout session. There is a table with 6 – 8 bench seats so you can chill out and spit some game while they make your juice.
