Quarters Korean BBQ

This is just a few blocks from where I live. It’s always packed so we thought we’d reserve going to this place when we’re celebrating something. At 10PM on a thursday night, we have to wait for 30 — 40 minutes to get in. But the wait wasn’t as painful, there’s a fireplace outside where you can chill and enjoy watching people — lots of nicely dressed people.
As you’d expect with asian servers (hey, I’m asian too), when push comes to shove, they are a little bit snobbish and cold, I thought I’d hate the place from the beginning. But the initial cold reception couldn’t bring the stars down since I was really impressed with the food (and later on, servers were starting to warm up — as people started to disperse). We ordered the prime large combo — $ 95, and additional brisket ($ 10) and beef tounge ($ 11). You’d get quality meat selection good for a group of four or five people. Everything was very good — the rib eye could melt in my mouth —that good. It was the best k bbq I’ve ever tried. The appetizers (banchan) were pretty unique and tasted amazing too. I especially like the brocolli with peanuts, the pumpkin and the salads.
It’s pretty expensive but well worth the price.
As to comparison with KHD (Kang Ho Dong), I actually liked this place better than KHD. The meats tasted better and the ambiance was absolutely more relaxing.

I dream about this meal constantly.
I heard great things about this place from some of my favorite YouTube vloggers (Jenn Im and Dumbfoundead) on a segment they did for Refinery 29. Ohhh myyyy goshh wow. Such a good meal.
My friends and I went hiking right before, so this definitely hit the spot and re-​energized us after our trek up a freakin mountain. We ordered the combo A for the three of us and we killed it. We also ordered the chamisul soju and I kept it as a souvenir. It was a great meal with great friends, and our server was very knowledgable and funny.
I did my research before coming here: word on the street is this place gets mad packed at night, so come during the day for lunch or a late lunch to avoid waiting and crowds. We got here around 4ish? So there was no one here.
But yeah We will DEFINITELY be coming back for more when we’re back in LA.

As much as I love KHD, the lines have just been unbearable these days. They are smart that they decided to open this sister restaurant in the same plaza to get business from impatient customers like me.
We always get seated within the first 5 minutes while the wait at KHD is over 30 minutes long. Yes I will be honest, it’s not as good as KHD, but… it does the job well. The combos are great, my favorite is the pork one. Price is decent. Even if you get a la carte, when you add up everything it still won’t go out the roof. Each order is about ¼ lb. I like being able to try everything. Needless to say, the quality of the meat is great!
Service is just as good as KHD, you have a designated server cooking and cutting the meat for you. The side dishes are delicious and you even get a cheese fondue for the grilled veggies!
Quarters I’m so thankful for you. Please don’t change. XOXOXOXOXO

The quality of meat is off the charts at this place. Plus, the cheese fondue served with the meat will make you squirm with delight. Just make sure to come during the off hours or be prepared to wait a while (at their bar).
Quarters is the spot I bring anyone to who visits LA wanting to try Korean barbecue. Why? It’s so freaking good. Plus, I feel that their offering of cheese fondue makes a simple, yet enormous difference in the experience. Because let’s face it, Americans love cheese. Does that subtract authenticity from the meal? Probably. But is it worth it? Absolutely.
As I mentioned the quality of the meat is noticeably superior to most KBBQ places I’ve been. You can taste the difference. The notable meat options here are the prime rib, bulgogi, and pork neck, in my opinion. The pork neck was a surprising player – it came alongside the combination and the seasoning/​marinade was excellent. The marinade was a mild spicy and perfectly savory.
I have been here several times now, and have ordered one of the combination meals each time, which I recommend. Be forewarned, though: the number of people they recommend for each meal is probably an overestimate. Case in point: our group of five ordered the four-​person combo, which came with 7 types of meat. It was a perfectly sized meal.
Be mindful of your visit to Quarters, though. Like any trendy KBBQ place, it can be VERY popular on the weekends. Both times I’ve been here, I’ve made it a point to come at about 5:00pm – once on a Saturday and once on a Sunday. There was basically no wait.
Highly recommend this place for quality KBBQ.

Quarters is the best KBBQ that I’ve had in a while. We had the BEST server (shout out to Mc Myung)!!! He was so entertaining and just great all around. I went on a Saturday night, so it was definitely busy. Since it was so busy, I was nervous for how long our food would take but our delicious meat came out pretty much right after we ordered, which is the ultimate dream at KBBQ (let’s be honest). Even though we had to wait 2 hours to get seated, it was WELL WORTH IT!!!

Quarters is a pretty great kbbq place and deserves 5 stars but doesnt quite beat my favorite Kang Ho Dong Baek Jong… I only say this because Baek Jong has more of that traditional Korean taste to their meat and side dishes vs Quarter which is more fusion like to me…
I like the idea of ordering meat tapas style (order a quarter lb of meat a la carte)… gives you more options to try more stuff. My bf and I decided to just order a la carte 5 dishes so that we can get the sides for free (veggies, cheese dip, kimchi jigae)… We didn’t want to go with the combo because we wanted a mixture of pork and beef. We ordered their beef brisket, marinated short ribs, pork belly, pork jowl, and spicy pork collar. I think the meat quality is slightly better at BaekJong… but dont get me wrong it was good at Quarters too. The spicy pork with the cheese dip was phenomenal! And I liked the side dish with the radish alot… got it refilled like 5x that night… Haha! :)
Overall the food was good, the service was good, and their Flo-​Rita (Blue Moon + Orange Margarita) was awesome! Definitely try it!!! Nomnom!!! I will be back! :)
PS it’s in the same plaza with BaekJong! Love their patio waiting area with the glass encased fireplace… Order a drink at the bar and chill until your name is called! Awesome! :)

Wow! If Chicago ever had a KBBQ joint half as good as Quarters, the lines would be insane.
Things I love:

–No lettuce or perilla leaves to wrap the meat in
–They changed the channel from the Bulls vs. Warriors game to the Clippers game??? (though I guess this was for the better considering the outcome of that game.)

Came here for a late lunch/​early dinner. There was no wait! They start off by bringing by several banchan dishes even before we ordered. I would say the green and red onion salad was my favorite out of all of them. We then ordered two types of meat because we weren’t too hungry. We ordered the marinated short ribs and the spicy pork belly. Both were great but I think the standout was definitely the short ribs. Literally melt in your mouth delicious! We also ordered the nachos but meh I’d say just stick to the meat! We were lucky enough that the bar was open at this time so we shared the mango margarita with strawberry cider. It was really sweet but good. The service here was great… I think we had about 5 different servers come check on us while we were there. I also love how they cook your meat for you!

Finally got the chance to eat at the highly raved about Quarters and I was ecstatic! We came here for early dinner and half of the restaurant was empty. Meanwhile KHD Baekjong had a line out the door.
Service is great. We were promptly seated and a waiter was always nearby when we needed something.
I came in a party of 6. We ordered the Prime Jumbo Combo. If you order 5 or more tapas or the combo, you’ll also get veggie skewers, cheese fondue, steamed egg, and stew of your choice free of charge! Due to the seating, we had both grills running. A waiter/​server was at each grill grilling away for us. Didn’t have to lift a finger! Rib Eye and the two types of short ribs that came with our combo was the best. Everything was scrumptious, but they were the star of the meal.
The combo satisfied us just right without being overbearingly full. Food isn’t cheap, but you’re definitely getting great service & quality of food.

As if the people behind Kang Hodong weren’t satisfied with their «overnight» success, they capitalized on it and opened up a tapas-​esque Korean BBQ restaurant within spitting distance from their Ktown location. Quarters, named for the portions of meat you are to expect when ordering here, is a new spin on Korean BBQ with tapas-​style servings along with other Asian Fusion dishes. Let’s get right down to it.
Nachos — Not something you expect to be on the menu at a typical Korean BBQ restaurant. We’ve heard great things about them and since we were hungry and waiting for our table, we thought, «Why not?» Think super nachos from King Taco but topped with some prime galbi. To all my lactose friends, best to skip this one.
Brisket — Decent cuts but more on the fatty side. All the fat juice was popping out at us. Just a bit uncomfortable!
Spicy Pork Collar — The thick cut of pork collar was drenched in their spicy red sauce, which added to the intensity of the flavoring. This was probably the most flavorful meat we had all night. All of the fat melting off the meat and into the spicy sauce made for a great combination.
Beef Belly — Thinly sliced yet extremely juicy and beefy.
Rib Eye — Lightly seasoned with sea salt. It was surprisingly juicy and tender, cooked with just the right amount of char on the edges.
Marinated Beef Short Rib — Arguably the best meat of the night. A wonderful blend of sugary beef topped with its natural juices and tenderness made it simply incredible. I have nothing but great things to say about their short rib.
Between 4 people, the Prime Large Combo is the best way to go. If anything, you can always add more a la carte. You get the best of both worlds with beef and pork which, overall, are executed fairly well.
They have an extensive alcohol list, with a full bar just outside the entrance. This place is definitely catered towards the younger scene but if I had to choose between Quarters and Kang Hodong, it would be Kang Hodong no doubt.

Meat quality is on point here. The environment is fun and lively. Came here on a Thursday night and it was packed. As mentioned in other reviews, Quarters has a bar so you can get the party started while waiting. What a novel concept!
The brisket, marinated short rib, and bulgogi were my favorites. All were tender, flavorful, and pretty much meaty perfection. The pork belly and jowl were standard fare. Plus, add melted nacho cheese on your meat, and you can impress your friends.
Side dish options were lacking, but I get it. Quarters is about the meat and drinks! They have a nice drink menu with creative «cider beer» cocktails and pretty much a full bar. They don’t have the rice paper, but then again, after a few shots of soju, who cares, right?
Service is primo like the other tier 1 places in K-​Town where they cook the meat for you, so sit back and relax. It’s located in the Chapman Plaza, so expect to valet or attempt to find street parking (good luck!). Apparently, if the valet is full, they direct you to a free parking lot.
This place is definitely worth the wait, time, and hype.

Holy crap! Quarters is one magnificient place to eat Krn bbq. IT IS NOT AYCE! But it is super filling!
My #20 5-​star review because it cannot get better than this in all sense of foodie stuff.
1. Service was amazing! Always there to help and always attentive. Even the call button works wonderfully.
2. Atmosphere was on point! Very hip and very modern. Great atmosphere to eat and hang out with your friends, everyone there is lively as heck too.
3. Food was great! Beef quality was top notch and even the bon chan wasn’t that bad!
4. They have a bar! in door and outdoor bar! While you wait, why not have a drink! From crazy concoctions to classics like moscow mule!
My siblings and I ordered the Combo #2. First it came out and I thought this is not going to feed us! But, we also ordered the seafood pancake, japchae and seasame chicken.
Combo #2 came with brisket, bulgogi, pork belly and something else I think.
The pork belly was my favorite as the quality was superb. High quality and tasted heavenly!
Every meat selection was flavorful and rich in it’s own way.
Definitely will come back here, though there was an hour wait for 3! it was well worth it.

THIS IS NOT AYCE JOINT
My friend and I came here right when they first open, so we didn’t have to wait at all. I heard it’s an two hr wait time around dinner time. They sat us right away and served us bachans first. The side dishes were okay in my opinion. I only ate salad & kimchi & yellow potato salad.
For two people, we went with Regular Combo for $ 47. It has four different type of meat which included: pork belly, pork jowl, spicy pork collar & grilled bulgogi. Since I don’t eat much, it was good amount forus but for others, you might want to order more.
The meat here was good. I especially like the pork jowl. It was something different that I never had before. It’s half meat, half fat but taste much better than pork belly! The grilled bulgogi was slightly different from other places. The meat was in pieces after you cook it but flavor wise, it was two thumbs up.
You also get a soup with your combo and we picked kimchi but they also brought out egg. Not sure if that’s included or they put in wrong order. The kimchi soup was a bit too sour for me.
The one nice thing about this place is that the servers cook the meat for you from beg to end! So you get to enjoy your meal throughout which is nice.

I’m giving this a 5 but like if we were talking about solely korean bbq — Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong wins (it’s in the same shopping center).
We got the jumbo combo for like 4 people, it was enough food. I thought it wouldn’t be but it was. This place is also pricey and everything adds up really quickly.
We came as soon as left LAX and there was a 40 min wait on a 2pm Thurs. So if you came during prime time there would prob be an even longer wait.
The place is super clean and they prepare everything for you quickly like Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong. They gave us different kinds of meat, bulgogi, beef, etc. Out of the ⁴⁄₅ they gave us I really liked the one beef (the first one). The other meats kind of tasted like something I could get at another place for cheaper prices. I gave this place a 5 because of the cheese part. They melt some cheese and when you dip your meat in there… MY GOODNESS I CAN’T…It’s something else. MUST TRY. MEAT AND CHEESE JUST OH MAN DO IT ONCE. I like the whole concept and the meats are of high quality (just the first couple). I feel like at Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong– all the meats were high quality and just tasted a bit better in my opinion. Both are really good Korean BBQ places!!!
West Coast Korean BBQ is way better than East Coast Korean BBQ for sure

Best kimchi ever. Best pork jowl ever.
That said, Quarters is not quite as authentic as the very popular place just across the alley. For one thing, you don’t see a long of people drinking soju here. On the evening I came here, people were drinking wine, beer, and and those ridiculous cocktails.
But what you will find at Quarters is outstanding quality meat. You can even see them cutting it up in dedicated room that is open to viewing. Some of their sauces are on the sweet side, but all in all, this is a worthy alternative to that other place.

Took my buddy here for a belated bday celebration. Despite being nervous that it’d be crazy crowded and we’d have to wait forever, it wasn’t bad at all… Cause there’s a comfy outdoor bar u can wait at n enjoy some scrump soju and stare into the fire-​y bar. Hehee cool. Time flies when you’re having (buzzed) fun: P
Food was fresh n tasty. We pretty much loved everything, including watching those tong masters cook up the goods.
The interior is modern but, as w any kbbq place, there’s no escaping that sweet sweet scent of your meal when u leave. Probably best to not go on a date afterward… Or just bring ur date here w u so u can both relish the meaty fragrance together!
Side note: Get the beer marg! You’ll be extra super full but soooo happy!

Apres avoir longuement hesité quant a la localisation de notre hotel a LA, nous voici dans le quartier Coreen.
Nous sommes allé dans ce barbecue coreen et nous avons passé un super moment. La nourriture est tres bonne, les plats variés.
On s’en est tiré pour 60 $ a 2, boissons comprises, en nous faisant assez plaisir (crevette, poulet, porc, boeuf)
Les serveurs sont sympathiques et gèrent les cuissons comme personnes. Le management a l’air au top.

Korean BBQ has a pretty high standard in LA and I always eat at one kbbq restaurant whenever I am visiting from out of town. I didn’t think that the average experience of kbbq restaurants could be beat my much, but Quarters definitely topped it and by a lot.
The quality of the side dishes and meat was very high. My mouth is watering as I think back to the meal and write this review. My friend and I shared the #2 combo and I enjoyed every aspect of it.
Service was remarkable. The folks working at Quarters cook the food for you in front of you, which I am really a fan of. I understand the fun factor of cooking the kbbq by yourself at some of the other restaurants, but I believe that folks who cook it everyday are going to do a lot better job than I can; and they did. The only downside that I can see is if the restaurant gets too busy and the staff can’t attend to all of the table at once, and the meat gets burnt.
I would definitely come back.

On our way to a meeting in DTLA and decided to stop in K-​Town for a quick bite to eat. Instead of the usual Chinese or Soft Tofu routine, we opted for a light Korean BBQ at Quarters. Knowing that the portion size was about a ¼-​pound per order, we knew that we could keep it all under control, as opposed to hitting up an AYCE restaurant.
We arrived around noon and surprisingly, there was no valet at Chapman Plaza. There was plenty of empty stalls. We immediately got seated and noticed the bar as we were walking in. It was refreshing to see a Korean restaurant embrace craft beers as opposed to seeing just Korean beers.
We started with an Angel City IPA and ordered a total of 6-​tapas dishes for 4-​adults. Beef tongue, Beef Brisket, Pork Belly and Spicy Pork Belly. The server brought out a good amount of banchan (side dishes) that tasted really fresh, and not store bought.
Meat came out and the server grilled it for us. Not bad service at all. Changed the grill depending on the type of meats and kept the banchan coming as the dishes were disappearing. Even the kimchi chigae tasted good and contained more than a few pieces of meat. Pretty rare if you ask me, LOL.
Overall, had a great lunch meeting. Feeling content. Not stuffed. No stains on anyone’s shirts. So far so good.

Came here last night to dine for the first time, and I loved it! I’ve been here in the past, but just for drinks while waiting for my fave kbbq place in the same plaza that is known for having ridiculously long wait times. I had intentions of eating at my fave kbbq place, but it was closed for maintenance so we opted for Quarters, since from what I’ve heard-​they have the same owners, but just a different style menu with Quarters being the more modern, trendy version. We waited a little over an hour on a Tuesday night, which we were all shocked by, but I guess that’s what happens when the other place is not open plus this place generally has long wait times. They have a nice outdoor patio with a cool fireplace and an outside bar where you can hangout while you wait for your table.
Once we were called, I was impressed by the set up of food already on the table for our eating pleasure! They had kimchi pancake, potato salad, kimchi, green beans, tofu, green salad, another salad and a cold kimchi soup. For a party of 5, we got the large prime combo (I think that is what it was called, it was $ 90 and came with about 7 different kinds of meat along with steamed egg, a hot soup, a veggie skewer, and cheese fodue), and we also added an order of kimchi fried rice. This was the perfect amount of food for us. We enjoyed the quality and flavoring of the meat, although the next time I come, I’ll prob order a la carte so I can select the meats I like. I only liked about half of the meat, since I prefer beef over pork. The kimchi fried rice was delicious, and definitely compliments the meat and veggies well. I also enjoyed the cheese fondue, because I love cheese!
Service was great, except I did feel a bit rushed at times as our server would hurry to cook the next set of meat while we were still enjoying the cooked meat on the grill, and I’m not a fan of having raw meat touch my cooked meat. She did tell us to slow her down if needed, but she continued to rush through cooking our meat. That being said, it’s awesome that the staff here cooks your meat for you, it’s full service! And they are very generous with the banchan, and very attentive. My friends agreed that this was some of the best service received at a kbbq place.
The valet parking lot here is always so crazy. Try to park on the street if you can, but make sure to read the signs.
With great service and food, I’ll definitely be back!

This is my new favorite kbbq place! It’s located in the Gaam plaza and directly across Kang Ho Dong.
There’s Valet parking with validation for $ 2 in the lot. The wait is around 45min+. On the bright side, Quarters offer a covered open bar area with tv and booths. The bar serves appetizers and a wide variety of drinks. It’s the perfect area to wait and still enjoy the night. I would highly recommend getting their signature margaritas. It’s a fair price for a huge glass. My favorite was the apple cider with peach margarita.
The best part about Quarters is their customer service and atmosphere. The interior is roomy and there are no smoky fumes in the air. All the tables were prepped perfectly with banchan, salad, utensils and plates. The menu here is more like a tapas style kbbq or a Korean version of gyukaku. It’s slightly original and different compared to most kbbq nearby. The menu is limited but they do offer very high quality cuts. The service here is superb! The food came quickly and all the cooking is done by their friendly staff! This is to assure that everyone eats the food at its prime state.
It’s definitely pricier ordering by plate but for the full experience it was well worth it. We split the meal amongst 6 people and it was still under $ 200 with drinks. Everyone left satisfied.
