PROLAB Digital Imaging

The imaging done by Prolab, with the aluminum prints, was outstanding and impacting. In particular, Nick went out of his way to accommodate my schedule, and the turn around time was as needed. My images were fairly large and held up well; the color matches were right on.
There was an item on the billing that appeared overpriced, I addressed this, and Prolab adjusted this accordingly. That speaks well of the company, and again, the customer service was very cordial, treating my project as if it was the only one on the books. Highly recommended.

I was looking for a unique xmas gift and am happy I found Prolab. The team printed a few large format pics on acrylic with a framless floating wood cleat and they look absolutely amazing. Julien showed me some examples and followed up several times on the phone after I submitted the files online with suggestions and ideas. I would gladly use them again and recommend them to anyone.

Julian and his team are awesome. They took meticulous time and effort to bring my prints to life in the finest quality and detail.

Quality: Poor. Colours not good. Order was shipped incomplete, and in a not very good state (oily gunk on front, wtf?).
Service: Atrocious. Guy I spoke with on the phone was unprofessional, and rude.
Very annoying.

A big thank you to Joe and Mike at Prolab Digital. Being a newbie in this printing process they were both patient and informative. Proofs were ready very quickly and the quality of the work was great. I am sure mine was a very small job in the scheme of things, but was treated very professionally and that I was as important as their big clients. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product installed next week and am sure my client and myself will be delighted. Front reception is also great and parking is easy. A great experience — can’t wait to come up with another project that I can bring to PROLAB Digital imaging.

I’ve been working with Prolab for a few months now. I have used Prolab to print apx 40 prints. They provide excellent communication, customer service and of course quality printing. I have been printing large photos on HD aluminum and I’m very satisfied with the output, price and turnaround time. The staff is very friendly and helpful in answering any questions I have. I would definitely recommend Prolab Digital Imaging to everyone!

I am an artist who prints on large scale 2 ply museum board paper, and I was excited when I came across this shop in my new neighborhood who was capable of handling such jobs. One call to Julian who could not understand my request, so he asked me to email his boss /​store owner Joe. So I happily wrote up a very detailed email explaining the job, with images. One day, turned into two and no reply. I called the store back and asked Julian if Joe had received my email. His answer was «Joe receives a lot of emails everyday and may have not gotten to it yet.» Really, after 2 days he didn’t get to a new customers email? I asked him if he can just find out from Joe and get back to me. A few hours later Julian called to tell me the mysterious Joe did indeed receive my email, but just hadn’t read it yet. And that was the end of that. Never heard from Julian or Joe again. No reply, no followup of any kind. I’ve never had so much trouble trying to give someone new business — potentially a lot of business. It must be nice to be a new company who is so busy, they don’t have to worry about attracting new customers.

If you want to be excited about print again, This is the place to go to.
I have invented a new photography technique and I wanted to print it on aluminum in large scale, after a lot of research I found the best for the job, not only that they perfected print on aluminum, they also created a new finish that worked best for my traveling exhibit. The prints were ready a week ahead of schedule!
I was treated like family and I am happy I found the perfect place to print all my art work.

I’m an artist working in print on acrylic sheets layered over photographs. I had to search around to find someone who’d print text on acrylic and finally found ProLab Digital last year.
Joe and Ricardo have done amazing work for me. The quality is consistently excellent and (dear to the heart of all artists) the packaging is professional and well-​secured.
They always check with me if they have any questions so I feel confident that I will always get what I want. They also work hard to accommodate me if I have a tight schedule.
Even though I’ve now moved away from Los Angeles, I will still be using ProLab.

After doing some research, I contacted Prolab to have an acrylic print fabricated. The piece was beautifully fabricated with a lot of attention to detail. The piece was a birthday gift to my husband and he LOVED it! They also managed to have it ready in a very short period of time. When I arrive to pick it up, Julia was very kind and helpful. I’ll definitely be using their services again and highly recommend them.

I am a New Zealand artist currently in the US and a few weeks back I needed to get some prints done of a painting to send back for to NZ. I emailed a pile of companies about Giclee prints and Joe Hill at Prolabdigital called me back very promptly with quotes and suggestions.
I subsequently emailed the file to Prolabdigital and they took it upon themselves to do a colour Silver or C Print of it, instead of the Giclee. I was astounded at the quality, and extremely pleased that they had decided to take a chance on producing something of a far higher standard than I would otherwise have commissioned from them. It was only a little more expensive, and well worth it.
I am now planning to get together an archive of past paintings to have printed by this company in this manner.
I also loved the experience of picking up the finished print! the whole family and staff came out to say hello and show us around their workplace, which has been operating there for many years. It was really lovely to have this personal contact.
I have since ordered more prints from the same file and Prolabdigital have mailed them to me in the high desert where we are presently living. The standard is just as good as the first and I am happy to now know i can work in this way, from a distance, with a company I can trust. Thanks!

As a member and curator of Women In Photography International, Pro Lab Digital graciously sponsored our members in the largest photography exhibit in Los Angeles, Photo La. The entire crew were very helpful and accommodating with everything we needed to exhibit our photographic work at Photo La. We needed great color marching and archival professional images to represent our nonprofit. Photo La consists of the finest galleries all over the world and and the work exhibited has to be excellent. We were not disappointed, actually the work provided was incredible.

Joe Hill was very helpful as was Julia, the printers worked with me to color manage all images and they were perfect. I can’t say enough about what great work they produced for our fine art exhibit.
Everyone at Pro Lab Digital always made time for us to visit and ask questions. Joe and Julia were very helpful explaining all the processes they could offer us. We had pieces printed on bamboo, white aluminum and acrylic and images looked remarkable.

What a wonderful lab for the professional fine art photographer exhibit looked impressive due to the high quality and detail of their efforts. We picked up everything on time, we were allowed to inspect 34 pieces of work. Then all was wrapped by Joe and Mike, to be loaded for Photo La.

I will certainly work with them again for my personal fine art projects, as they have so many great surfaces to print on. I had 4 pieces printed directly on light grained bamboo that I love. The printer even helped me with suggestions on each material to make it look it’s best.

Incredibly professional and caring team!
I am an artist and two months ago was prepping for my first showing. After extensive online research I called a few places in LA that offered the service of photographing/​scanning my artwork and reproducing Giclee prints. I called Prolab Digital and Joseph the manager patiently talked to me for 30 minutes while I asked questions that ranged from prices to material options. He was incredibly informative and respectful.
Cut to 1 week later, I filled my car with 36+ pieces and brought them to Prolab. (This is a terrifying thing as a first time artist, to part with my work and leave it with a company that I have never been to!!) I couldn’t have had a better experience. The team is well staffed and my expectations were met if not exceeded at every turn. I brought in different mediums, ranging from wrapped canvasses to charcoal prints, and colorful pen designs on paper. They have an enormous warehouse filled with the top shelf resources. Joseph first gave me a tour of the place, and showed me examples of other Giclee prints they had recently worked on.
End of story, the photography/​scanning turned out amazing and the prints look stellar. Mike, the man who worked with the colors of my pieces for the printing has an amazing eye.
The Giclee proofs are identical to the actual image.
I had to be in touch with the manager, Joseph quite often, and he is consistently accessible and helpful. The whole staff is great at what they do and incredibly kind and helpful.

This was my first time utilizing their services and I was very impressed!
The project, which consisted of 2 large prints on aluminum and acrylic was
given to them one week before out of country travel and they said «no problem»,
even with such short notice, which in itself was impressive.
The prints were delivered to us on the 8^th and we were leaving on the 11^th. Since this was our first project with such short notice we were not able to provide a sample,
only the scanned file, the prints were outstanding, just not with enough color saturation. We called and Joe, the manager, said that customer service was their
number one priority, and he was not joking! That same night he personally drove an
hour to our house to pick up the prints and took time to discuss with me how exactly
to print them to my liking. He assured me that they would be ready by Friday end of
business (we were leaving on Sunday). His production team actually worked overtime
on Friday evening as did the driver who delivered the pieces at 8:30 pm on a Friday night. They went way above and beyond for me. The quality of the prints exceeded my expectations and everything including the mounting was perfect! They probably
lost money on this job, yet they have gained in me a customer for life. I intend to give them all of my printing business in the future. All things being the same, it is the companies like Prolab Digital that set themselves apart from the others by truly providing excellent customer service and reliability. I applaud them for their professionalism and integrity and will recommend them to my friends and associates.
