Richard A.

Business Owner

Formerly with the Los Angeles Times in Marketing Research and Advertising and Marketing for a decade, Richard knows the advertising biz. He worked with worldwide Gray Advertising before coming to the LA Times as a software developer and ran his own consulting firm, GIS Development Group, for a decade before that. A short list of his clients include The Cities of Santa Monica and Manhattan Beach, The City of Los Angeles Planning and Zoning and Building and Safety, Southern California Edison, Arco AM/​PM markets and several midsize commercial banks.

A musician for forty five years he continues to play around the southland jazz, R&B and his true love, funk. An avid fly fisher, when he gets away he likes the Eastern Sierras streams and has recently discovered the joys of surf fishing along the SoCal coast.

Richard provided flawless execution of our show collateral materials. From the first phone call to the final product, he was easy to work with and went above and beyond to ensure that we got everything we needed done to exact specifications. The materials came out better than expected and were stunning visual displays at our trade show. We gave Richard a fairly big order to fill at the last minute and he it got done and was affordable to boot. We’ll be back for more!

‘CUSTOMER SATISFACTION is NOT a part of their STANDARDS’, as the man behind the counter told me today!!!
I’m a graduate student at UCLA, and finally I found the time during business hours to go to this shop and happily walked in for the first time. The problem I wanted solved was somehow putting the cover of a hard cover textbook I have back on. He said there was no perfect fix, and he could only glue it on. I asked him to do that, he looked me in the face, and in a slow tone said: «I’m. not. willing. to do. that!»
I asked why, and he said «it’s not a part of my high standards.» I asked him «isn’t customer satisfaction a part of your high standards?» and he said NO!!! I said «don’t you want to add customer satisfaction to your high standards?!» He said «Thank you for your advice ON YOUR WAY OUT!!!»
I didn’t know whether to be upset or laugh at this man! But I walked out, feeling grateful that even though I come across «JERKS» LIKE THE MAN AT THIS SHOP, it happens very rarely :)

Richard does many things well and is a terrific resource for people who live in Westwood and beyond. I’ve had large panoramic posters printed here from trips I’ve taken. I’ve had keys made here. I also had a bike key that was too sharp sanded down here. I’ve had dozens of packages delivered safely here. I’ve dropped off UPS packages for shipment here. And I’ve had passport photos made here. Thanks for your service and hard work Richard!

Fabulous business. The owner of this business has been around for over a decade. He has a narrow profit margin and offers many services, anywhere for making keys to passport pictures to printing posters. The only downside is that he does not print colored posters in his office, but will get them printed for you at another location.

Richard at Print Run saved my life. I needed 200 – 400 stickers printed in 2 days, and I called about 5 other printers for quotes. Richard was not only the cheapest, but the fastest, as well. I ended up getting 1000 stickers for HALF THE PRICE other places were charging. For the price I paid at Print Run, I would have only been able to pay that same price and get 200 stickers at other places. Not only did he NOT charge me a rush fee, he had the stickers printed and ready to go in less than 24 hours — and they look perfect. Now that’s what I call customer service!

I rented a mailbox here while I was living in Westwood. Richard is super nice and willing to strike up a deal (my box was $ 10 per month and $ 1 per package, much cheaper than a previous Westwood place that charged $ 50/​mo), he’s very friendly, and he was even cool enough to call me when some important mail came in after I’d cancelled the box. Go here!
