Before I came in to see Erika at Pony Pony Salon, it had been an embarrassingly long time since my last hair cut (at least a year… if not 2!). The ends were scraggly but I still wanted to keep the length as much as possible, and the previous cut I had gotten made my normally thicker hair look thinner and worn because it hadn’t been layered properly (plus I have wavy hair that is not always the easiest to cut). Erika to the rescue! Not only was I a last minute addition to her schedule, but she really treated my appointment as if it had been her only one of the day — with great care, attentiveness, thought, and thoroughness — while also making it fun, enjoyable, and efficient in the process. She was able to keep the length of my hair while trimming it up and removing the worn ends, and cut it in a way that provided shape while helping keep the thickness. I used to wear my hair up most of the time; now I’m excited to wear it down as much as possible. Thank you, Erika!

Erika did a great job on my mop, which some people were describing as «Kramer hair». Since I shaved it last summer, I have just been letting the top grow without any trimming. I couldn’t fit my head into hats anymore; it had taken on a life of its own. Monique came by and grabbed it and said, «That is THICK!»
Luckily, Erika isn’t phased by rat’s nests. She faded the sides and thinned out the top, just in time for the heat wave that is melting LA. Thanks again, EH!

Didn’t get my hair did… but went with someone who did. Such a cool location and the vibes were very pleasant.

Erika is amazing! I found her because of the other great Unilocal reviews she had. She really took her time and was very thoughtful about my cut. I have been to hairdressers that don’t really tell you what they’re about to do and don’t consult with you, but Erika was the complete opposite, she made me feel so comfortable, and additionally is a really cool person. I left feeling great and refreshed and love my hair again!

I got perfect haircut from Erika who own Pony Pony salon. I went there without an appointment, but she still gave me a haircut. I really appreciated. I like her design and the way her treat het client. I also got some trick about hair colouring from her. The salon is 2^nd floor with a nice view and unique style.

Can’t say enough good things about Erika and her work. She lifts my almost black hair to a gorgeous white platinum blonde with the least damage I’ve ever experienced, every time. My hair is still soft, shiny, and longer than boob-​length. She is meticulous and uses as many products and as much time as it needs to get my hair perfect, while explaining what she’s doing each step of the way. Since it usually takes about 4 hours to get my hair to the color I want, it’s also great that she’s an absolute pleasure to talk to.
Her salon has very convenient valet parking and is in a gorgeous building with great light. I love the intimate vibe and the fact that she never double books. The online booking is a breeze and her prices are very reasonable for the level of attention and perfection she delivers.

A secret modern hideaway looking over Sunset and Vine; a very special combo of the VIP treatment in a very relaxed atmosphere. Very happy with the cut and would most certainly come here again.

This is a momentous occasion.
For the first time in my life, I have left a hair salon not feeling depressed and awkward. In fact, I feel as if I’ve transformed from a nerdy high school kid to the classy alternative soul I never knew how to express in hair. Pleased beyond words!
Monique did my hair, while Erika provided insight and lent a helping hand. It was a lengthy, intensive process, yet throughout the many hours of work and despite some uncertainty, these ladies only provided enthusiasm and kindness, 100% accommodating to my strange ideas. They are the King Arthurs of hair, impossibly pulling Excalibur out of the stone, figuring out how to make all my requests work! As an added bonus, it felt like hanging out with your BFFs for the day.
The space is beautiful, sleek, and clean… and collects the glorious scents of food cooking next door.

Let me start of by saying I really debated writing this review because the stylists were so nice and they tried so hard to fix my hair. But after 10 people have said, «wow your hair is red.» I feel like I need to say something.
After sending in pictures of what my last stylist did and how my hair is now, they said they could get something close to that. Sweet! Book me an appointment.
I come in the next day and I told her that I hadn’t had my hair cut or dyed in a little over a year, so she would know what to expect. I was so lost in conversation that I didn’t realize that i had been there for 2 hours and she was STILL putting dye in my hair. My last stylist would have me in and out within 2 hours tops. And it seemed like this is what they expected as well since she had a 2:30 appointment waiting for her. At the 3 hour mark she was like, well your roots are lifting lighter than the bottom because of the old dye. Well that’s a duh moment because I told you that when I sat down. Then she consults the other stylist who tells her that she needs to dye my roots to get my hair to match. My hair is mismatched, great. So she rinses me, puts dye in my hair and waits. The other stylist comes in and says that she should rinse and do another dye on top of that. She dyed my roots 3 times… 3 times! Which explains why my hair is looking very thin on the top of my hair. I’m missing some hair, because they fried my hair.
They finally rinse and the stylist is like ok, «I can live with this and I can sleep tonight. Let’s do a quick but efficient cut!» As her 2:30 had been waiting for over an hour, she needed to rush my $ 80 cut. Sooo that’s awesome? She quickly cuts my hair and blows it dry. The other stylist comes over and is fawning over me about how my hair looks. And I’m smiling politely and I say yeah it’s good. Not overwhelming like, thank god my hair looks amazing! It’s a stern, I need to get out of here, just finish my hair already, because I can see my hair is red and it’s supposed to be a golden blonde. This is what a bad box dye does to my hair, my hair is brassy, it’s College all over again. But this time I pay over $ 200 for it and to add insult to injury, I also have to pay $ 10 for parking since they took over 4 hours to do my hair. How they didn’t even offer a discount for ruining my hair is beyond me.
After the 2 hour mark, I was visibly unhappy. I had said several times that I was worried and that no one has had this much trouble with my hair. Because they haven’t, it was ridiculous, I’ve literally had less trouble with a friend who was going to beauty school and needed a Guinea pig! I will never go back to pony pony or recommend this place to anyone.

The Unilocal picture they are referring to with me with brown roots was taken on my 25^th Birthday 3 years ago! And I have another one with me with all brown hair taken 4 years ago taht they may have referred to as well. Maybe they should have stalked me on social media so see a recent picture versus a website about ratings!
They apparently pay as much attention to website detail as they do hair because what I said was correct. 6 inches of virgin hair! maybe you should spend less time talking about the guy who won’t text you back and more time putting dye in my hair; it should not take you more than an hour to put dye in my hair! Over 2 hours and you were still applying dye? You don’t see anything at all wrong with that? That’s normal for you? Does everyone book 4 hour appointments?
Lastly, no one in that salon expressed any concern over lifting my color until you panicked about my roots. It makes no sense in hell that I would lie about my hair. I like the way I look, I don’t want to fuck it up for the sake of a bad Unilocal review.
Again, everyone should think twice about coming here, they will mess yup your hair and then blame you.

So as it passed 3 weeks after my haircut I can say that I love the result! Erika did with my hair just what I wanted and I find it easy to style and to deal with. Definitely will return!

Erika is my girl. Took me like 13 years to find her out here but I’m so happy I finally did. I’m usually either disappointed or just kind of neutral when I leave other places, but not this girl. It’s clear she’s just damn good at what she does and she listens to you which I find most don’t even when they pretend to. And she’s nice. Very. Love her. Never going anywhere else. Drops da mic.

Erika is amazing. She does cut, colour and Brazilian blow out for me. She takes really good care of me and my hair. I am always so happy with after each visit. And with the new Olaplex treatment!!! my hair feels like new. Literally LIKE NEW HAIR. Actual new hair. To quote Erika «your bonds are no longer broken» Only if the rest of my life could be so simple. Thank you Erika… Did I mention my hair feels like new?

I’ll put it simply, Erika is excellent at her job. She’s not only super fun and artistic, but she cuts YOUR hair. That’s right, YOUR HAIR! Not a one-​size-​fits-​all hack job! She works with your individual needs/​wants and is a beaming genius in the process. I strolled in with a thick super weird overgrown bob and left with a lovely, lovely light style. I also left without feeling instant self loathing, which is a freaking miracle in itself. But that’s another story.
After a few years of searching in LA, I’ve found my hair guru in Erika and I highly recommend her. If you’re thinking about trying someone new, this is your gal.

I don’t usually write reviews but the work she did on my hair was so good, I had to give it 5 stars. Amazing experience, i was skeptical at first because of the lack of reviews but go ahead and give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

Erika made me fall in love with my hair again. She gave me a partial balayage and toned my aggressive gold hair down to a nice ashy blonde.
From the 30 minute consultation to all the hours she spend patiently on my hair… They were all awesome. She has so much patient, is super secure and tells you everything she is doing in order to make you feel comfortable. The end result was outstanding and blew my mind.
I definitely found my newgo-​to hair spot and would recommend her to everyone.

Was in LA for a friend’s birthday party and had a last-​minute hair emergency. Erika hooked me up big time at almost no notice. Super responsive — and seriously the best haircut I have had in a long time (maybe ever?). She works from an amazing studio space in Hollywood. My only regret is that I didn’t have time to have her fix my color — and I don’t live close enough to have her cut my hair on a regular basis!

Erika is amazing! She is always coming up with cute new ideas for my hair and I’m never disappointed after she’s done my hair. I’ve had Erika do up-do’s, color and cuts — she is all talented all around.
You’ll never leave disappointed, she always makes sure you are 100% happy with what she did and she’ll take the time to fix anything that doesn’t seem perfect.
Not to mention, she does men’s hair cuts as well — she does my fiancé’s hair once a month and he will never go to any other hair dresser other than Erika.
I’d recommend Erika to all my friend’s — especially those who are younger and looking for trendier hair styles.

I am so happy with Erika and her skills, and I can’t recommend her enough. She is indeed an artist. I went to see her based on the reviews here, and from her previous salon, and I was not disappointed. Actually I walked out of the salon with hair I don’t think I have had since I was in my 20’s, shiny, healthy, beautifully colored, and such a chic cut. She really listened to what my thoughts were, and she has such an easy going manner that I felt perfectly at ease. It all come down to her being a good listener, and she asks lots of questions, and explains what she could do, or not.
I am going back for a third time to have my color done today. Really looking forward to it!

WOW what an experience! I’ve been searching high and low for an amazing salon in LA; it took 3 years, but here I am! I saw all the 5 star reviews so I knew I had to book an appt. When I arrived Monique greeted me (with her awesomely styled hair) and was friendly, funny and enthusiastic. I was looking to get my hair to a particular shade of red. She not only listened and anticipated, but she completely NAILED IT outta the park. And the best part… she was excited about doing my hair and was as excited as I was when it turned out be-​a-​u-​tiful. GO SEE MONIQUE. Your hair will thank you.

Erika is an artist! My hair color has always been a problem for stylists, and it seemed no one could ever get the color right. I always left a salon thinking I was doomed to have what stylists called the «Warm, Sunny Look» which wasn’t at all what I wanted but was what I always ended up with! So, for years I searched for the stylist who wouldn’t go all «brassy» on my hair. Someone who would take their time and would really work with me to make sure I get the right color. Felt like it was a lost cause… that is until I met with Erika. She took my «hair history» and showed me what she would like to do to correct the existing color and what she thought would be the perfect color for me. So, she mixed and applied and washed and OMG the brassy mess I had lived with for all those years was finally gone! and my hair color was this beautiful soft beige.
That Erika is a miracle worker, well at least the hands down best damn colorist in LA. I Love her cuts and blow outs too! You can see why I HIGHLY recommend Erika … make an appt … you won’t be disappointed!
