When I’m at UCLA hospital for an appointment or check up and I’m desperately hungry we’ll eat here. The cafeteria can just be too crowded at times and this place is more sit down than the cafeteria. Recently we came here after my doctors appointment for lunch. I was starving and needed something to eat. I was here with my Mom and Aunt. We all ordered the same thing, the soup of the day, which was chicken tortilla soup. We found a seat in the sun and as soon as we sat down our order number was called and my Aunt fetched our food. it was served in a cute little clay bowl. The soup hit the spot. I loved the crunchy little strings of tortilla in it. It was very hearty and filled with lots of goodies. A perfect little meal for a cold day. It helped us carry on through the afternoon.

Good selection of breakfast and lunch items… cafeteria style, noisy at lunch time, mostly patients and medical personnel from UCLA needing good food in a rush… this place certainly provides it.

I never thought that I could find bacon cheeseburger here. It’s been a week since I searched for this kind of food. been to many fast food restaurant and it seems that only few places like Plaza Deli has it. Went immediately inside and looked in their menu. They have several selection of good food(I think) and I saw the bacon cheeseburger so I hurriedly ordered it. A few minutes after and my order arrived. The bacon cheeseburger was warm, freshly cooked and it seems very good and the taste was really good. Ordered twice before I got satisfied on it. Best place that serves bacon cheeseburger.

Super convenient location. I stop in for their delicious Venice coffee multiple times a week, occasionally purchasing a danish. My coworkers love their breakfast, but say it’s overpriced. Only 3 stars because Patty is very rude, daily. There’s never been a morning when she’s been pleasant.

The food was horrible! I ordered the Chicken Marsala. It was visually unappealing and the chicken was very tough and dry… had to ask for true flatware to cut it. The coconut seasoned rice was missing its seasoning and the flavored biscuit was dry and not a typical accompaniment with this dish. Can’t believe UCLA allows this food on their campus. The root beer was the best part.

If you don’t mind the long wait at lunch … If you don’t mind the really blah coffee … If you don’t mind the cold, aged lump disguising as a genuine Porto’s potato ball … Then come on by … I was super hungry, so my bad. The other deli items are nothing special — have tried in past.

Clean, reasonably timely service, wide variety of menu items to choose from, ok quality(nothing to write home about, but not bad either), and decent prices for the area. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, but if you happen to have business in the UCLA Medical Center area, it is certainly very convenient.

UPDATE: They serve Porto’s pastries here now! They are overpriced though– over $ 2 for one potato ball!(Reference Unilocal photo for a price list). ____________________________ I frequent this deli for breakfast and I love it! Much better than the cafeteria in Ronald Reagan! I usually order one of the following: Combo breakfast burrito– Bacon AND sausage with perfectly cooked potatoes wrapped in a tortilla with salsa and guacamole on the side. Mmmm. And ask for ketchup and hot sauce! Grilled Cheese w/bacon and tomato– had this for the first time today and it was amazingggg! The bacon here is delicious. The smell gets me every time I walk by in the morning. And you have the option of fries or breakfast potatoes on the side! Their breakfast potatoes are delish! Breakfast Platter w/2 eggs, toast, 4 piece bacon and/or sausage(or half and half) and potatoes. Did I mention they have the best bacon here?! Dooooo eeeeeet! I’ve never eaten here for lunch so I can’t comment on the lunch menu.

I just discovered this place. And it kicks ass! I’ve only eaten in the cafeteria and completely missed this place. First of all, it is a very nice open and bright place. The menu is extensive, and is quite wide in food variety. I had the Korean BBQ pork with rice, Jap Chae, and veggies. Also drink. All for $ 8. All the dishes are amazing deals for the amount of food you get. I also found my dishes to be very tasty. But I really want to try the sandwiches and all the other stuff they have. Yes, they may not necessarily have the BEST food, but it is a great deal. Try it without the expectation that it’s Bouchon, and you’ll be fine ;-)

It looks like a cafeteria. Seats about 100, it’s a pretty good size space… located between building 100 and the footsteps of the Ronald Reagon Med Center. Counter ordering and call your number sort of thing. Open for breakfast and until 8pm, they offer eggs, sandwiches, and burgers. The prices of goods are $ 6.99-$ 8.99, and there isn’t many choices to spend less unless a bagel meets your fancy. But let me tell you, if you are at the medical facility, on a break or have a bit of a wait… I have 2 words for ya: «big bowls». Korean and chinese inspired, the big bowls of bulgogi, rice or noodles, chicken, and veggies… is well worth the price of admission. I don’t think it’s worth coming here if you’re not a patient or employee, but I might even make an excuse to see a specialist in order to be near enough to come eat here.

So, I made the mistake of trying this place again. Everything I am about to right is my opinion only. I decided to order the bulgogi. It wasn’t that keep at over $ 8. After waiting a good 20 minutes, 1⁄3 of my lunch over, I got the wondrous offering. The meat, which is supposedly grilled, was watery, with tiny chunks of burnt something. The rice was mostly tastely, and gummy, but the most edible of the bunch. Some sort of noodles were giving, but they had an odd flavor. Finally there were some veggies that were cut into odd sizes, and dumped on the plate. It tasted bland to me, and washed out. It wasn’t worth the wait to me, and I shall hopefully remember not to return.

Totally agree with the others who have mentioned the huge variety of menu options, but the mediocre quality. I work 6 days a week at Ronald Reagan and usually eat in the hospital cafeteria(which is really decent for a joint of this type!), but occasionally I’m lured over the Plaza. PROS: – Breakfast served all day. The breakfast burritos are actually delicious and HUGE. I recommend the sausage bacon combo, yum yum. – I like the bibimbap. Freshly stir fried veggies and all that good stuff. I ask for the sauce on the side because they tend to ladle on an overwhelming amount. – You can get French fries here; I heard someone led a campaign to get rid of them from the hospital cafeteria. – Lots of random goodies like gum, Mexican snacks and desserts, and a variety of energy drinks. CONS: – The service is not quick, so don’t come if you’re short on time. – The corned beef hash is kinda dry and not that flavorful.

I’ve been going here for years and service has always been mediocre, food is overpriced and now food handling is questionable. This will be the last time I will buy their food again. I ordered a bagel and the server put it in the toaster. The manager/owner(?) told him there is no cream cheese in the fridge. The server went in the back and came back with a box of cream cheese which he opened and took one out for my bagel. Then he proceeded to take my bagel from the toaster with the same gloved hands he was wearing when he went in the back to retrieve the box. The least I would have expected is he would have changed his gloves(which by the way he was wearing only on one hand and he was preparing my food). I thought he should have washed his hands since he left the prep area. Luckily or unluckily my bagel was burnt. It smelled burnt and looked burnt but he tried to convince me by showing me that it is not burnt and asked if I wanted a new one. I said yes, but to please change his gloves before he handles my food again. The manager/owner(?) was standing there the whole time and finally told him to change his gloves. This smart guy put the new bagel with the exact same setting so it essence it will burn again. I said something and the manager pushed my bagel along so it won’t be in the toaster as long, still not turning around to look at me. That is just shoddy business practice. She should have apologized. I’m now trying to see how to contact DHS

Eureka! Jahpchae does exist on the westside, and oddly enough, you can find it in this little deli tucked away in the UCLA medical plaza(100 tower)! I can’t tell you how excited I was to discover this luscious, sweet and savory Korean noodle dish is served here. They start serving it at 10:30AM and it’s so popular they usually sell out by 1−2PM. I’ve only ever been here on a weekday, though, so I’m not sure what they weekend here looks like. The rest of their food is what I would consider typical deli fare. I would recommend their sandwiches, especially the veggie sandwich. It comes with a side or either fruit, coleslaw, or potato salad, all for $ 6. I tried a veggie breakfast burrito here once, but it was pretty gnarly, especially since they use what appears to be powdered eggs. And while we’re on the topic of burritos, I found out that they don’t put beans in their regular burritos! In fact, there’s not a friggin frijole to be found anywhere in the vicinity! What the hell, people?! You can’t serve«Mexican» food without at least giving the option to taste a legume! Oh, and for the love of all that is holy, do NOT order the coffee.(It tastes like it was brewed in the colon of a small bovine). PROS: — They have Jahpchae!!! — Pretty good veggie sandwich CONS: — Not worth the trip if you’re not already in the area — Parking at UCLA is expensive — THECOFFEE — They use powdered eggs — Food is good, but only if you’re desperate

I work in the same building and it’s convenient to just call down and put in my order. They have A LARGE selection… I mean, they have Naked Juice, cookies, muffins, a grill for burgers and fries, and a whole selection of Asian food! I like to get the bibimbop, but get the beef as the chicken is just whatevers. They also have a lot of Chinese dishes that’s like Panda where it’s pre cooked and you can order what you want. I mean, the food is pretty good, but also pretty pricey… good thing is the specials always come with a drink and I like their iced tea! There’s seating inside as well as one or two tables outside, but if you want to the courtyard of Ronald Reagan there’s a lot of tables… with shade!

So Mr. Fiancé works and goes to school at UCLA and he’s always raving about the food here, always telling me about the amazing breakfast that he gets and how their sausage is «the business» — so one day in the midst of running errands with him in Westwood we decided to have breakfast together. And boy did it disappoint, it wasn’t bad and it certainly wasn’t «the business», it’s just your regular breakfast, plain pancakes, and plain sausage. lol. dear… something is wrong with his taste buds.

I went to UCLA this past summer so the campus was like a new friend to me. I asked around about a quick and easy place where I could get a great sandwich, and local students told me… the deli. I had a hard time choosing what to get because they have such a wide variety of choices but my gut told me to go for a sandwich. Im a simple girl so I decided on a nice chicken breast sandwich with avocado. The chicken was really juicy and cooked perfectly. So it gave me incentive to go back. I’ve been there numerous times now and have made it a mission to try different things off the menu. I’d have to say my favorite time is breakfast. The breakfast burrito is honestly the best I’ve ever had. Its definitely not a place for a date nor is it a swanky deli like most of westwood but if you’re looking for a quick cheap meal at UCLA/westwood then I’d say go for it. I’ve gone and actually met Maria Shriver there so look out for some famous people who go to the medical center at UCLA.

This place has a lot of selections, but that doesn’t mean what they serve is good. I ordered a pastrami sandwich from them once and it made me sick for an entire day. I think it was the excess amount of grease or something, but Plaza Deli and Grill turned me off from pastrami sandwiches for about 2 years. NOJOKE! I have to say that they are really clean and not too slow with getting your orders ready. Someone tosses away your trash for you so when you are done eating, just leave the stuff on the table.
