What a lovely group of people caring for our pets. They are welcoming, nurturing, and invested in making your pet’s experience a positive one.
My two dogs went in for nail grooming. They were in and out in a flash. Although my dogs were nervous, they both responded really well to the team since it was evident that they were in good hands. The team even invited me to their work space to help walk my dog over who didn’t want to leave my side. This made the process less stressful for me and my dog.
Also, they have amazing quality merchandise. It seemed you could even have pet beds custom made with your choice of fabric. I didn’t inquire on prices, but given the quality, I’m sure it’d be worth the investment.

I rarely write reviews, but feel I must comment. I sent our beautiful, white, long haired Himalayan cat with my personal assistant for grooming, after visiting and having a lengthy discussion with Rosa about my concerns for not stressing him out. We intentionally scheduled him early, to avoid other pets, as he has a cardiac condition, called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and therefore, needs patience and someone who will be careful with him.
Apparently, he had some fur that was difficult to comb out, so they called my assistant and asked her to return to evaluate. When she arrived, they had already shaved his back, but nothing else. There was no discussion with me, at any point, about shaving. He was simply there to be bathed and combed out. …My cat has been groomed numerous times and we have never had any issues. He was visibly upset and hid for several hours after returning home. I never received any correspondence from the owner or anyone afterwards. I told my assistant to just bring him home and we will find another place. Also, it was apparently very hot and they never requested any shot records. …I am extremely disappointed and want all to be aware.

Unfortunately I have to change my review because of two issues. Our dog went to the store healthy and with his collar and a beautiful name tag. He left without the name tag and now is sick for the first time since we adopted him 2.5 years ago. Shivering and coughing everyday and is now on antibiotics. As much as I hate to say this I won’t be coming back here!

Walter is a fantastic groomer and Rosie and other staff members are as nice as can be. Beware! There is no air-​conditioning and the grooming area is unbearably hot during a hot day. I specifically asked the owner if the area was cool during an unseasonably hot day and she assured me that it was very cool. When I arrived it felt like a sauna. So many dogs in cages and hair dryers going. I turned around and left. I won’t return because the owner was not truthful. It is obvious she just wanted to groom as many dogs as possible irrespective of the sweltering conditions. I won’t return. We will really miss Walter. He is so nice and my dogs really love him.

Pet Joy is great! I’m a pet sitter and my client asked me to drop off her two pups there. They were so friendly and the dogs look amazing!!! Walter did such a great job and Phoebe and Stella came out looking beautiful and happy. Highly recommend!

My Mother’s Maltese Puppy, Dakota, would write this review if he could… He LOVES This place. Absolutely loves Yvette and the owner as well – all of them who work there. Literally pulls my mom across the street and MAKES her go in there — even just to visit them to say hello. She is starting to avoid Starbucks so he doesn’t drag her across the parking lot! It is the funniest thing ever. I never heard of a puppy who loves to go to a groomers this much. Hilarious. She even tried to take him to Petco just for a bath and he literally started shaking. He Will simply NOT go anywhere else ;) They are so helpful, kind and informative to a first time puppy owner as well.

Sometimes $hit happens. Even in the best of businesses. When it does, it’s always a good idea to own it and make it right. Took our 5 lb Maltese in for grooming. When I picked him up he was bleeding from the tip of his penis. Tried to stop the bleeding and could not. Had to take him to the vet to get cauterized. And guess what? When I showed the groomer how he was cut, she said «Oh no, he no cut, he have infection». You gotta be f%^&* kidding me! He had no ‘infection.” They cut his penis!
NEVER AGAIN!

Brought my brother’s dog in to get groomed while I was pet sitting. Chester came back looking so dapper! They did a great job cleaning him up and were very patient with him. I guess he did not like the dryer so much so they had to tediously hand dry him so the appointment took longer than expected. It was much appreciated!

Yvette, Rosa and Walter are such good people and a great staff… my dog is always treated well and comes out clean and cute every time!

Love the crew here at Pet Joy– they take such good care of my baby Bella. She is happy to go and always looks great when she is done !!!

I cannot say enough good things about Pet Joy! The staff is absolutely amazing! From the moment you walk in, they took great care of you and your pet. As somebody who rescued a dog recently, and who is a first time dog-​owner, I have a lot to learn about taking care of my pet. Pet Joy has been informative and extremely helpful, with everything from grooming to helping me understand what’s best to feed my dog. They are kind, and they take the time to get to know and learn your dog.
Rosie is so wonderful and I am so appreciative for her hard work! You can tell she loves what she does, and that she’s really good at it. She is a grooming expert, and from my experience (I have been there more than five times now), she spends a lot of time with your dog. She treats each appointment as an individual experience, knowing that every dog is very different. She also takes time to review with you updated information about your dog after the appointment, taking note of any changes in their hair/​fur, skin, eyes, paws, etc. I find this to be extremely valuable!
Pet Joy is truly a neighborhood gem, with such a professional and knowledgeable approach to all that they do. I highly recommend them!

I really do love this place. The woman at the front is amazing. Always able to fit me in and my dog Cooper looks and smells so clean. They are very thorough, kind and make a visit to the groomer, which my dog dreads, very easy. The prices are a little high. I laugh that my dog’s blowouts cost more than my own:) Only in LA.
But compared to Wags on Montana PetJoy if far more reasonable.

Needed a new harness for Calvin, my Pekingese, and we were next door at the eye doctor so I stopped in after. Such a wonderful little store. The owner? helped me pick out the perfect harness for Calvin — he loves it.

I get my Chihuahua’s Royal Canin food here. It’s slightly more expensive than PetCo, but 1) Pet Joy is right next to my house and 2) PetCo is soulless.
Since this is essentially next door to me, I was forced (by circumstance) to buy a pet carrier here once. It’s the cadillac of pet carriers and it cost almost as much as a 2010 Escalade. I grumbled for weeks, but the bottom line is Pet Joy is not the place for a bargain, let alone anything moderately priced.
Right after moving to Brentwood, I attempted to buy a dog bed here, leaving my name and information so they could order the color I wanted. I checked on the bed about once a week. A month later, I ordered the bed off the internet for much cheaper. Two months later, I got a call from them saying they had the bed I wanted, but not quite the right color. Alllllllrighty then.
A friend of mine groomed her dog here and liked them, but her dog was ugly. So there’s that. And be prepared to let your dog be locked in a cage when it’s not being groomed… they aren’t hiding it. The caged dogs are clearly visible.
All that said, the lady who runs the front counter is very friendly. She’s got chihuahuas. I like her. But in terms of whether or not I’d come from afar to patronize Pet Joy… that I can’t tell you. Cause then I’d have to kill you. And no one wants that.

Let me start off by saying, this place was great once, and could be again.
Used to love this place but lately they have been absolute crap. I brought my dog there asking them to wash her as fast as possible so she wouldnt be stuck in a cage as she has heart problems. They said ok, and I brought her at a time when they were nearly empty. I was told she would be ready in 20 – 30 mins, so I came back in 30 mins and they said oh no she needs another 30, they hadnt even started yet. This wasnt the first time they had done this to me, so I finally decided to write a review about it.
Also, the staff barely speaks english, so if you are like me and want to call in to see if your pet is done before you drive out there, they wont understand you, then will get frustrated and scream at you for speaking too fast. They used to have a very sweet woman who worked the appts and answered phone who actually spoke english. BRING HER BACK.
So, all in all. If you care about your pet, DONT BRING YOUR PET HERE.

Have to say was referred here by a close friend for their teeth cleaning service which is a private co. The cleaning service and the people who do it are amazing, they took such great care of are dogs. The grooming service and the regualr employees have alot more to desire. to be honest you would be better off and happier going to PETCO on wilshire like I did after I wasnt happy with them.

Got a baby gift next door so I dropped into this pet store to check it out. I have been looking for a new grooming place for Joey, and also a place to buy cool doggie stuff.
I do believe this is the place. Their grooming facility was spotlessly clean!!! That is a biggie in the doggie world. They also have some interesting feeding bowls and mats, and lots of cool collars. They also have fake fur napping rugs, and I had to get one of them for my little prince.
Look out Joey, I think it’s time for a bath!

As picky as i am about my Little (well actually he is huge) St. Bernard… Pet Joy did everything I asked and then some. JoAnna took care of my little boy and I could tell because when I went o pick Bear up he was happy and giving joAnna kisses before we left. I have been to so many pet groomers and there are a lot where I live, but the drive to Pet Joy in Brentwood is well worth it. Thank you Pet Joy and a big thanks especially to JoAnna for taking care of my little guy.

I took my dog there and was really happy. Prices seemed OK or at least competitive, and the store is cleaner and more boutique. The best part is the location. With the traffic in Brentwood getting worse all the time, it actually saves alot of time nat having to go down to Wilshire or Olympic.
I’ll go back there.
