My family and I have been coming to this dentist for about 15 years. Everything Dr. Kim recommended for us every other visit, we did. You want to take my tooth out? Okay. Go for it. Can you give my mom a new crown? Boom here’s the cash.
Just recently we took my sister in for detail cleaning. Dr. Kim came out saying we need to have her molar taken out because it was growing in. We had a planned vacation that week so we said no and mentioned we would look into it once we came back to LA. Incase her cheeks get swollen or anything like that. I mean we wanted her to enjoy the vacation.
And to our surprise Dr. Kim got either insulted that we said no to him or he was having a bad day. I explained that we would do it after coming back from our trip. He kept insisting and started talking about how later on we wouldn’t be able to do it. That we had to act now. No means no. We have the cash to pay for it if there’s an issue. Whatever it is we would take care of it. What’s the big deal? He started barking about all the paperwork he would have to do if she didn’t do it at that very moment. Excuse me ??? You want to yank out my sister’s tooth right now because you don’t want to do the paperwork?
Once again I said no.
«Then why do you come? Just to waste my time?! Why did you come if you’re just wasting my time?!» That’s exactly what he said .
A lot more was exchanged but I’m keeping this story short.
Keep in mind my family and I still had smiles on our faces and were still polite even after he was being rude.
How dare you Dr. Kim .
After years and years of being loyal clients you tell us that we are wasting your time? We are the ones who came to you for a DETAIL CLEANING and nothing else.
We have spent thousands and thousands of dollars with you and pay you in cash.
That is no way to treat your clients. Your tone and persistence was completely unprofessional. I can’t believe you would treat us that way. You were very rude and I regret not saying anything.
It is your job to do the necessary means to provide the service that we want.
Paperwork is part of the job sometimes and if you’re going to lash out on my family because you want to avoid it then you are definitely the wrong dentist for us.
We will be taking our money elsewhere.
You just lost a couple of clients.

I’ve been coming here ever since I was a kid and everything was perfect. I am currently 16 years old and don’t like the dentist very much, but Dr. Kim and his staff make every visit painless and comfortable. I’ve gotten cavities and my wisdom teeth removed here without any problems. This place is awesome! Even though it takes awhile to drive here, it’s worth it! Don’t go to any other dentist group and come here!

My wife was having problems with her wisdom teeth, so we found Dr. Kim on Unilocal and decided to go see him. He was available that same Saturday and he extracted all four wisdom teeth. It was so well done that my wife up the next day with minimal pain. Now, myself and my family are regulars with Dr. Kim. We love that he specializes in most if not all dental practices. We truly recommend him.

I have been coming to Dr. Kim since 1995 nearly 20 years. I was looking for Medical Doctor and found him from Korean yellow book. I did one filling and still going well without any issue .I was so surprised the time he spend for the filling. It was really quick. Also my gum was bad so I received gum surgery twice. All my families seen Dr. Kim and my mother in law still wearing a denture he made for her long time ago. I moved to Lakewood area and could not visit his office for long time and my upper teeth was half broken so I visited one of Dental Implant office in Garden Grove. They can not guarantee for the broken teeth and suggest me to do implant for broken teeth area. The estimate was about 4K. I decide to visit Dr. Kim for second opinion and he made new teeth with reasonable price. I really appreciate his honesty and good skill. Dr Kim also carry all the good conversation so make sure you are not tensed while he is performing his surgery.
Now I am 52 years old and want to say to Dr, Kim «Thank you Dr. Kim because of you that I still have my entire teeth»

Dr. Kim and his staff are SO awesome! They’re kind and really care about their patients. Dr. Kim is great at explaining what’s going on in your mouth and isn’t an alarmist. He’s fair about what work needs to be done right away and what can wait.
As an actor, I need to have great teeth and I trust Dr. Kim with my smile.

i had to get new crown here because my old dentist did awful job with my crown and it fell off quickly (less then a yr. wth!) and needed to get new one.
they took x-​rays to show me why my old crown didn’t work and what they are going to do, and how it’s suppose to (and will) look like.
I got porcelain gold crown. It was not cheap, but quality is worth the price. After he put on my crown, he took like 4 different x-​rays just to make sure it fit perfectly.
it’s super comfortable, and had no pain as well. I think this will be my regular dental center whenever i am in LA :)

Poor service, I bring my son to check for any possible tooth decay, after X-​ray doctor recommended all 4 wisdom tooth to be extract, when I ask doctor if possible to do two extraction first. So my son don’t have he’s full mouth aching, he said NO I do it 4 or you can take your son some where else, whit out future explanation of why he wants to do all 4 at once, very disappointed. The only reason I took my son to this place was for the Unilocal review ;(

Dr. Kiho Kim has worked his magic again! My poor mom tripped on the sidewalk and fell on her face not too long ago. She was okay but she chipped the crown covering her four front teeth.
Dr. Kim replaced her previous crown and dental bridge with a new fancy one that looks more natural. He was very meticulous in picking the appropriate color and shape of her new «teeth» and made sure to ask both of our opinions before proceeding. He said it was important for the crown to feel good and look good. I totally agree!
The procedure wasn’t cheap, but seeing my mom’s new smile made it all worthwhile. I actually think she is smiling more these days.

The best in LA. Staff treats everyone as a VIP. As for me, I’ve been coming here since I was little. To this day, I get super nervous going to the dentist, but once I’m there they make me feel comfortable. And to be quite honest, I don’t see them as a staff, I see them as family who I visit every 6 months :)

I have never enjoyed going to the dentist until I started to visit Dr. Kim and his staff. They do a great job in making any procedure as painless as possible and do an immaculate job when it comes to taking care of teeth. Not only do I go to the dentist regularly now, I go with less stress than I did before. I cannot give this place enough stars!

The staff at Penn Dental are always courteous and professional. The facility is always clean and immaculate. If you are a germ phobe like me this is the place to come for dentistry.

The staff and Dr. Kim make you feel very important and comfortable. Knowing that a lot of people are very nervous when coming to the dentist. They review everything with you before starting any procedures.
I currently live in Las Vegas, NV and no longer live in Los Angeles. But I still make the 4 hour drive to come to this dentist to get my braces checked every month.
Some may say it’s crazy. However, it’s not easy finding a dentist/​orthodontist who will treat and care for their clients.
My whole family has been coming to this dentist ever since it has opened and we are so satisfied with their work and compassion.

The staff is very professional, the facilities are new and modern, and Dr. Kim and his staff are very detailed oriented, caring, and patient in explaining to you the state of your teeth. They are wonderful people and clearly enjoy their job. I appreciate how the office is on top of reminding you to come in for your bi-​annual check ups. Some might find this annoying, but you will thank them when you still have your full set of teeth when you retire. Overall, very happy with this dental office and would recommend to anyone. They are very accommodating to Korean and Spanish speakers as well. Every visit ends with you taking home a bag of dental hygiene goodies including a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, and floss.

I’ve been going to this dentist about a month ago. I needed to get my wisdom tooth pulled out and get root canal! I am such a scary cat so I was really nervous but everyone was really nice! My doctor showed good personal interest to make me feel less nervous~
He will explain anything you ask! I loved every nurses there! They are very nice and helpful! They will answer any questions that you feel like it may sound dumb to ask,
I really recommend this dentist! It’s definitely a keeper! And they are known for taking the wisdom tooth out really well! Everyone I know went here to do the job! So I would give a chance to this dentist:)

I expirianced food trap between bottom molars which was very unnoied. And problem solved after two visits. One of the great dentist I have ever met.

I’ve had two root canals when i was 10, long story short, i hate dentists, I hate tooth pain, i hate sticking sharp things in my mouth. Then i found Dr. Kim. He has been my dentist for over 15 years and needless to say, the man is great at what he does!
I just went back recently for my 6mo check up (4 years later). I sat in the chair and waited nervously, reminded of the pain that accompanied toothaches, and to be honest, i barely felt a thing and i was in and out in less than 45 minutes (he worked on three molar cavities). He is truly an artist at what he does, i have x-​rays to prove them.
The facilities are well kept and the staff is friendly and caring and compassionate towards their patients well being and can assist you in financing as well, esp. for those of you who have covered-​CA (*who btw does not offer dental option yet!) Also, Sunny is the nicest Korean lady i have ever met. I highly recommend Penn Dental!!!

First off, let me start by saying I searched long and hard for a good dentist to remove my wisdom teeth. I found Penn Dental of off Unilocal and decided to go with it since they had great reviews and were able to work with my insurance. I scheduled an appointment to come in and have them check my teeth since my wisdom teeth were really starting to hurt me. They checked them out and said that they were going to request an approval to remove them. Great! They cleaned my teeth and sent me back home saying they’d give me a call back in about a month to let me know if I had been approved.
A month later I get a call saying I’ve been approved to get my two bottom wisdom teeth removed. Ok. They asked me what day I would be able to come in, and I scheduled for Friday. Let me tell you that I called days off just to get my wisdom teeth removed and already arranged to have someone drive me and pick me up the day off the surgery.
The day before I was supposed to come in, the receptionist calls me to confirm my appointment. I found it quite odd that she didn’t ask me to not eat anything 12 hours before the surgery or to even have someone ready to drive me back home. Because usually that’s what you would think right? I didn’t think anything of it and came to my appointment anyways.
I had someone drop me off. As soon as I walk in they walk me to the room and turn on the screen with the pictures of my teeth. Dr Kim comes in and tells me the implant patient before me came 30 minutes late and if I wanted to wait or «go home and come back». What? I told him that I was fine with waiting. Then he stares at the picture and tells me he’d rather have an oral surgeon remove my teeth because to extract them would «hurt you a lot». Are you effin’ kidding me?! They’re gonna hurt anyways, might as well get it over with, that’s why I came! I told him I took days off from work just for this. He looked like he really didn’t wanna do it and said that he «can do it, but it’s gonna hurt a lot and that he’d just rather refer me to an oral surgeon» but he’s not sure if they’d work with my insurance. What?!
The receptionist sent me home with a paper that had the address for the oral surgeon and said, «I’m not sure if they accept medical but you can come back and get your fillings here once your teeth heals.»
Dr Kim, I am appalled! I came to your office because of these reviews and because you were willing to work with my insurance. I believe it was unprofessional of you to not check the pictures of my teeth BEFORE you had me come into your office. BEFORE I had called the days off from work and had someone to drop me off and pick me up from your office. Thank you for making me lose time and money from work, wasting my time and gas money. I will find a new place to clean my teeth and do my fillings. Even if I have to pay out of pocket. I will not ever be coming back here.

I’ve been coming to this dentist for many years and it’s great! Sunny is always willing to work with you financially and they are all very kind! Especially Dr. Kim :)
They always call me and make work with my schedule.
Most importantly! Dr. Kim gave me confidence in my smile! He knows what he’s doing!
