Mai and the rest of the team are amazing! They fit me in for a much needed and overdue fill. She had other appointments coming in, but did an amazing fast job! Even got three coats of paint on. I’m impressed with her talent and she was very kind.
Price was perfect and well worth it!
Excited to find such a gem and can’t wait to go back for another fill and pedicure!

I’ve been coming here for about two years and it’s still my favorite place to come get my gel manicures done, and Mai’s acrylics can’t be beat. I love the «frequent customer» system Lenny uses and I get a free service! The nail artists take their time to give me the best mani and my pedis are always relaxing and not rushed like you feel at other salons. You also can’t beat the «5 day no chip guarantee» and if I do ever have any problems, it’s a quick fix!

This has been a long overdue review for my first gel manicure at Patio Nails and this place takes the cake for the most careful and gentle manicure I’ve ever had thanks to Amy.
First of all, Amy was seriously the kindest, most gentle technician I have ever had and I don’t get my nails done often, but I know I’ll be returning to her when I do. Each of her snips with the long clippers were as slow and cautious as you’d hope them to be to ensure zero injury; she’s literally so focused into doing a gentle job and it made me so happy to have gotten to see what it means to truly put TLC into nail work. Her application of the gel was slow, but definitely in a good way since it can get stringy. Look at that smooth perfection along my cuticle! I can’t get over how good of a job she did, because they not only looked amazing right after the job, a whole 10 weeks later today later there’s ZERO chipping, ZERO peeling. It still amazes me how good these were put on. Personally my nails are generally resilient and don’t break so not everyone might have this experience, but you can see my pictures for reference.
Even though the manicure was $ 30, I couldn’t not tip her an extra $ 10… It was seriously that good and I can’t thank her enough for taking me 20 minutes before close (so she stayed after technical close time). Thank you SO much and I can’t wait to come back (only 9 more visits to go until I can get my free manicure!)

Will definitely be coming back here! They take such good care of you :) long massage and a beautiful pedicure. They’re so nice too! Great conversation. I recommend calling ahead and making an appt. because they only have two chairs and two work stations. You won’t regret coming here!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I usually get the gel pedicures and they last forever! The ladies here are very sweet! I like speaking Vietnamese with them and they really love having UCLA students come. They really take care of you, for example, they help you find the right color and will build up your gel pedicure to a nice color. My pedicures last forever and they do a great job cleaning up the cuticles. It’s a bit expensive at $ 55, but the quality, atmosphere and consistency is what keeps me coming back.
The foot massage feels awesome since they use hot stones. The massage chairs are really nice too, just the right strength. I keep comparing places with this one because it has so far been my favorite place in Westwood! Never disappoints :)

Mai is the absolute QUEEN of acrylics. I love her! Believe me, I have been to several other salons and her quality, precision, and ability to make my nails look natural is incomparable to everyone else. I had short bitten nails and she’s totally changed my nails! I get several compliments from people who get shocked when I tell them my nails are acrylics. They also have a great color selection and it’s easy to make an appt.

I was a little hesitant at first to come here, as I saw some mixed reviews on here, but I decided to give it a shot. I called just one day before and was pleased to get the exact appointment time that I needed even with such short notice. I arrived early and they took me right away, with no waiting. The place is a little small, but I was the only customer in there at the time so it was quiet and peaceful. I was incredibly impressed with the huge variety of colors that they had in both regular and gel polish, and they were all great brand name polishes.
I got a spa pedicure and a gel manicure. They both turned out really great, even though my fingernails were super short and damaged from previous acrylics. They looked gorgeous afterwards! They even have a 5 day guarantee so if it chips within 5 days they will fix it for free.
They were very easy to communicate with and seemed genuinely concerned with pleasing me. I had a great experience here and highly urge you to give it a try!

BEST, BEAUTIFUL, FLAWLESS NAILS! They have the widest selection of «Nude shade» that I have ever seen. (That’s all I wear!) The entire staff (Mai, Amy, Tina) & owner are the most accommodating warm people!

I came to this nail salon a few months ago (¹²⁄₁₅) and am finally getting to my review,
Coming to this salon was without a doubt the WORST decision I made all of 2015! I could go on and on in detail at how horrendous my experience was, but I’ll keep it as short as possible and let the pictures do the talking.
I got acrylic nails with Gel polish & a pedicure ($ 100+)
–crooked bumpy acrylics
–over priced
— took forever to finish
–over crowded and unsafe (yeah let’s put the gel dryer that JUST reaches you on the corner of your lap, over the water your feet are in while I jump around the 2×2 room frantically)
–didn’t even finish my pedi in the spa chair, the lady sat on the floor and painted my toes as if she was my mother at a sleep over
–awful quality … Had to get them fixed after less than a week…(going in again for them to fix them was the 2^nd worst decision of 2015)
–multiple cuts on both my toes and fingers… The best part was when Mai used her bare hands and dirty towels to clean the blood of my finger
— confrontational and rude (both the old man and Mai) when I expressed that I was unhappy about the services and the events that had taken place at my previous visit (this was when I went in to «fix» my nails); Mai even denied half the stuff that happened, luckily my bloody finger and the dried blood under my nails were enough evidence to get my point across…
Sure, they tried to fix it but after all of that who would even want to waste their time?!

I don’t know what’s been up with the string of negative reviews lately. I’ve been coming here consistently for almost a year and a half and I haven’t had any problems.
Sure, Mai can be a little pushy and sometimes she and Lenny argue over scheduling but at the end of the day, they do the best job I’ve had for the best prices. Acrylics aren’t cheap no matter where you go and they more than give you a bang for your buck.
I highly recommend this small nail salon run by honest, hardworking people to everyone.

My experience at this salon ruined my entire day. I never write Unilocal reviews but I feel that this is the only way I will have some peace. Like the rest of you, I really wanted to like this place since it’s close to my office. Here’s what happened.
— got there was moved to 3 different seats playing musical chairs as I’m trying to chose a color in the cramped area that I smaller than my bedroom.
— totally agree with everyone’s comments re Lenny watching like a hawk and although they didn’t argue in front of me today, he came off as very condescending; even more so now that I see his defensive and snarky comments towards honest Unilocal reviews. *please do not contact me in any way regarding this review. I gave you my phone number for the rewards program before I realized I would never go back and you do not have my permission to use it at your leisure* Needless to say, I 100% agree that it’s an awkward and uncomfortable environment. I wish I would have read these Unilocal reviews before stepping foot in this place.
— Mai told me for a full set of acrylics with gel it would be $ 70. At other salons, I typically pay around $ 45 for great work. When I told her no she said ok $ 60… I had an appointment at 7 so i just let her go on as I am going out of town in the morning for a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway and had no time to waste. She went on and on about how her work is superb and she’s better than other people so she charges more. Also said that she charges that much because she has a lot of UCLA students with rich parents who will pay that much. Nice.
Typically, acrylic nails take an hour or so. I had an appointment there at 5:15 and another appointment down the street at 7 which I figured would be easy and I may even have time to waste. I let Mai know around 6:00 and would like to get out by 6:30 since I realized she was still applying acrylic when we should be wrapping up. She said why didn’t you tell me?! … Well, because I assumed you’d be done within an hour and a half like other salons? I’ve only been getting my nails done for 15 years… I think I have a pretty good gauge of how long this should take. If it takes two hours, there’s something wrong.
So on TOP all this nonsense, I notice there is SUPERGLUE ALL OVER MY PHONE SCREEN AND after I got home I noticed a couple drops of superglue on my brand new LOUIE VUITTON PURSE which was sitting all the way on the FLOOR. Yes friends, super glue… all over my things. How? I do not know. I just spent an hour scraping the superglue off my phone screen. I don’t even know where to start with trying to get it off my purse… I’m so angry!
So not only did we finish at 6:50 and I literally had to run to my next appointment, my nails look horrible. This is by far the worst nail job I’ve ever had (done by someone who claims to be so good she can mark her prices up) and I paid over $ 65 which is $ 25 more than I would have elsewhere, sat there for far too long with nothing to look at (no magazines offered or in view) while getting watched like a hawk and having my personal items damaged by (flying?) superglue.
The photos speak for themselves. The pinky is crooked, she cut the other pinky too short and had to redo it, the shape is off on the middle finger, the gel polish (which took forever to apply) is a mess, there are numerous bubbles in my thumb and it was literally the worst experience I’ve ever had in a nail shop. I wanted to get up and walk out the second I was sat down and it never got better. Save yourself time and hard earned money!
Interesting that all these snappy replies from Mai aka Lenny make constant reference to their top grade products and quality work but as you can see from my photos, that doesn’t seem to make much of a difference now does it? They look horrible.
I really don’t like writing negative reviews but I feel it’s my duty to save other people from this nightmare.

Not sure how some of these Unilocalers gave this salon 4 stars. Service was not friendly. Unbeknownst to the staff and owner, who did my nails, I speak vietnamese. They were bad mouthing ALL of the patrons in the salon, including me. I got bad vibes from the moment I sat down, because the owner was barking orders at her staff and getting frazzled when the salon got busy. It was not a restful «spa-​like» experience for me.
I requested an acrylic fill and nail designs that I pulled up on my phone. She butchered the design, after making my nails way too thick, then when I told Mai to just wipe off the design and keep it simple, she proceeded to make her own random nail design (that I did not ask for) and insisted that it was «very beautiful» which it was not. She charged me for these designs, again, that I did not want. Instead of making a scene I asked her to just stop painting and let me go.

I have been a customer for Patio Nail Spa for more than a year. It is my go to nail spa, because it is super close to where I live, and I love all the color options they have. My nails chip really easily, because I use my hands a lot working out, dancing, cooking, and my nails are thin as well. However, a gel manicure can last between 2 –4 weeks for me and a gel pedi lasts for 4 – 8 weeks.

Great find! I was in Westwood for the day and stumbled across this salon during a long lunch break. Based on the conversations I heard, I would call and make a reservation before hand. Although I was able to get right in, appointments are better or just call ahead to make sure (I wanted gel but didn’t have an appointment and they were busy). Seevice was excellent! Mai was very helpful although another girl did my nails. Great attention to detail, gentle, and my nails looks amazing! I am very picky about my nails and will only get a mani/​pedi of professional quality. I am really happy. Will be going back!

Absolutely excellent experience. My mani/​pedi came out perfectly; their attention to detail and desire to please is exceptional! Prices are very very reasonable.

My acrylic nail broke in 3 days! Unbelievable and so frustrating. And I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. Usually I can go 3 weeks with my old nail salon no problem.
Mai was great and very pleasant. I wanted to like this place, I really did, bc I do my hair and facials here, but never has this happened with acrylics.
On top of that, no joke, my pedicure has also chipped. So frustrating! Not even 3 days. Wtf
They also don’t include shaping and shortening in their price for a fill. Haven’t heard of that before, but whatever, that wasn’t as big of a deal as a broken acrylic 3 days later. Worst

You know when your nails are so pretty that you can’t stop looking at them? That’s what I’ve been doing since I got my gel manicure here. My nails are just so beautiful! I never thought they could look this way, so I am more than happy with the work that was done here.
They have a huge selection of colors, and I love the essie brand for gel manicures. It’s oil based so the it doesn’t go on incredibly THICK like most gel manicures do. It feels like a regular manicure, but shines and has the durability of a gel. If I were in the Los Angeles area again, I would definitely get my manicures done here.
Mai and her workers are meticulous and amiable.
The only downside is that the space is kind of small, so I felt a little clausterphobic, BUT do not let this deter you. It is absolutely worth it to get your nails done here.

They were very friendly and their selection of nail polishes is the most I’ve ever seen. Especially for such a small place. They also use Seche Vite for the base and top coats, which makes the polish last much longer than other brands. I did have an issue with a slightly uneven paint job on my toes which i originally reviewed about. However, within hours of posting it the owner called me and offered to re-​do my nails. I count that as great customer service and have edited my review to reflect this. I would go back because of that alone. Oh, and did I mention how many colors and brands of nail polishes they have? So fun! I also liked the cute courtyard location. And I was lucky enough to just walk in and get a massage chair. During the hour I was there, a few people came in with appointments. So might be wise to book ahead.

I went here thinking it would be great, but it was anything but. I’ve went to nail places in the middle of nowhere in the Midwest that were better than this place.
First of all, this place is SO CRAMPED. I read reviews and figured it was small… But this was just too small. People were tripping over my small purse. There’s two manicure tables jammed in a corner against a wall, and a few feet over three pedicure stations stacked next to each other.
I got Mai to do a full set of oval shaped nails, which were extremely crooked, even though it’s the most basic and classic nail shape. She also didn’t add tips to my nails because she liked my natural nails better and also switched polishes on me because she preferred one over another. I should’ve spoken up, but I usually don’t in these situations since I’m someone who gets anxious about any type of conflict. She didn’t do anything to my cuticles. I’ve never had acrylics lift so easily either. (The picture I’ve attached is two weeks old, ignore the growth). I paid full price ($ 40) for not getting any tips with my acrylics, which I’m not entirely sure is okay.
The relationship between her and her (I’m assuming) husband is also terrible. They got in a tiff while I was there and she was mocking him «MAI! MAI! MAI!»
Oh, and they messed up my scheduling. I had made an appointment for Tuesday and they put me down for monday, so when I got there for my time (which I confirmed earlier so I know I was right) no one there was able to do to acrylics. I’ve never been to a place where only one nail tech did acrylics and no one else was incapable. So I ended up having to make an appointment on Wednesday.

Just got a pretty nasty «compliment» from a «long time customer» with no reviews. Take that as you will.
My initial review was honest and fair. It was also pretty mild. The nail service was 3 stars, the experience 2, and I rounded up because it’s a small business and I didn’t want to be harsh based off one experience.
After reading the Unilocal reviews, I think it’s pretty clear that other customers also had a hard time relaxing at this salon because of the manager. People don’t want to feel like they’ll be harassed if they are unhappy with their service. Yelling at employees in front of customers is also unprofessional.
When you take down private information from customers, do so in a way that doesn’t expose that private information to other customers.
I will definitely not be returning.

Mani pedi was fine and very affordable, but the atmosphere is so uncomfortable I just don’t want to go back.
It’s a really small spot but they were able to take me as a walk-​in right away. They have a decent selection of Essie colors. Sanitation seems okay; I saw what looked like an autoclave in the back.
The lady doing my pedicure did a good job and she was sweet. The guy doing my manicure seemed inexperienced and not very receptive to my requests at first. But I talked to him some more and he was able to fix my nails; for the most part, the manicure turned out fine. Not the best manicure I’ve had, but for the price point, it did the trick.
The main thing that bothers me about this place is the male manager. He has a very intimidating demeanor. When he first came in, he didn’t introduce himself as the manager so I had no idea who he was when he started asking all the customers questions about what services we were getting.
The worst part was when he asked for a bunch of personal information for their reward card, including my phone number. Put on the spot, I gave it to him, but I felt SO uncomfortable doing so. Especially because I had to give my number verbally across a small room where everyone else could hear. I have plenty of other beauty salon frequent customer cards that don’t require any of that personal information, and if they do, you are able to give it at least somewhat discreetly. The way he went about getting this information from us was just really unnecessary and unprofessional.
The overall vibe with the controlling manager was honestly unsettling. I felt really uncomfortable with the way he talked to the nail technicians in front of customers, and yet the only good things about my experience here were the people who did my nails. Technical skills and price were average, but it was just one of those weird experiences I don’t want to go through again.
