The sandwiches here are good. Pricy… but here downtown.

Every single time, without fail I have walked into this place and walked straight back out. It smells DISGUSTING in there! It smells like fat and oil came here to die. There is no ventilation, its hot and smelly. I dont know how the food is but the atmosphere is unappetizing.

the salad, sandwiches, and soups are relatively good. nothing superb, but not bad. however, the wait is ridiculous, even when the place is empty. i strongly urge calling in first and ordering for pickup or even just calling in first to dine in.

I’ve been here about 3 times and won’t go back. It is like $ 10 – 12 for a sanwich and fries and the wait is way to long… almost 20 minutes for one person and when the place is empty! That to me is very irritating especially when you’re on a 1 hr. lunch break. The food is great and fresh, but the money and the wait make it not worth it at all.

2.5, rounded up The place is spotless and would be a dream for anyone who is afraid of germs to eat at. I saw workers constantly clean, straighten out chairs and basically make sure everything was in order. I was so fascinated by the rack of Miss Vickie’s chips. Apparently jalapeño was their most popular flavor as they had two rows of it, then sea salt and finally a few of the BBQ flavor. I had a meatball sandwich craving yesterday so I got that. It was just under $ 8 plus I added a bag of sea salt chips and a drink. It worked out to be the standard $ 10 lunch. I think if I ordered from here again, I might actually go with fresh fries or do the half sandwich/half salad or soup combo. Soup might not be a bad option either as the choice was interesting. Yesterday’s was creamy zucchini. I got the sandwich toasted and it was nicely crunchy. The meatballs were okay. They weren’t homemade looking and had a very smooth consistency. I liked the tables near the front of the restaurant. They seemed very café like but since there weren’t very many people after 1 p.m. yesterday, it seemed like the perfect spot for a quiet lunch. I did come by a time where someone was obviously in a hurry and kept trying to rush them to make her sandwich faster. When she left, the owner looked very upset and muttered to the cashier that they were going to charge people an extra $ 1 if they want a rush order. They had told the woman that if she was in a hurry next time, to go ahead and call or fax in an order. She just snapped back she didn’t think it would take so long. Um? People are so rude. The wait time for my sandwich wasn’t excessively long.

I really like this place and think the salads are great. That’s what I usually order because the greens are crisp and the chicken is delicious white meat and plentiful. Also, when I’ve ordered a sandwich with fries — the sandwich is very good and the fries are delicious and there are tons of them. It’s a comfortable, clean environment and a good deal.

Unlike other establishments(see previous review), the manager of this place is hands on. Almost too much. She kicks out wayward bums, takes phone calls, handles the register and sometimes delivers the food. This place has your standard fare of sandwiches and salads. I come here for the chopped salad with chicken. They put beets in it(which I love) and they always add pine nuts for me if I ask. Love the pine nuts! Sometimes service is a bit lacking. The last time I was there they were short staffed, and my multitasking manager had her baby with her, thus cutting her efficiency in half. I questioned how healthy an environment this was for a baby — or the rest of us. Anyway, I waited over 20 minutes for my order. It’s a chopped salad – how long does this need to take? I was hungry and when I’m hungry I get downright evil. I scared the poor man behind the counter when I stormed up to him with an evil eye and an empty stomach. «That’s MY chicken salad, RIGHT?» Gangster. He winced, said yes, and handed me the bag. Heaven help the poor soul who gets in between me and my food when I’m hypoglycemic.

Great place with good, very inexpensive sandwiches. Try the turkey or the Italian Sausage. The only things I don’t like on their menu are their Philly Cheese Steak(very dry) and salads(nothing very special about them). There usually isn’t a crowd which is a plus and the place inside is nice and clean.
