Based on the other glowing reviews on this site you would think that they are good at what they do. I have had nothing but issues with Alex and his office. I called several weeks ago to book an appt. At first it was great. The office said that they would be out that day. I waited at home all day for him to show up. As I was about to call and find out what happened I got an email from the office saying that they gave me an appt for the next day. I called the office back and said no… I can’t be home the next day we agreed on today. I can only be home on Monday’s. So we booked for the next Monday at the same time… noon. At 9:00am I ran out to get something at the store which took 10 minutes. I was surprised when I got home to find that Alex had come and left his card. No phone call to see if I was in the shower or something. Nothing. No warning and they didn’t send the confirmation email I had received the week earlier. When I called the office to say I had only been gone 10 minutes AND that the appt was for later in the day they pretty much said «oh well». Why someone didn’t call my phone is ridiculous. So they had me wait all day to see if he could get time in his schedule to come back. I waited and waited past the times they said he would come only to find out he isn’t coming at all. They wanted to see if I wanted him to come in another week. No! Absolutely not. I will call someone else who actually wants my business.

We have used Pacific West for at least 10 years at our Sherman Oaks house. They have trimmed hedges and very large trees for us — even removed one of those very large trees that was diseased. Alex is smart, very knowledgeable about all trees, and easy to talk to. He is fair and honest, prompt and polite. We have recommended him to our neighbors, who also have used him for years.

They are licensed, won’t top your trees, and will listen when you tell them what you want. We work with Alex Medina. He’s great.
