This theaters is definitely overpriced and their balconies are so far back it makes me regret allowing my older brother to plan our family day Star Wars viewing.
The only upside this movie theater had was that they sold Star War (large) cups. Score! Hence another star.
The balcony level to their theater is almost secluded and removed from the actual theater, as if it was an addition (but thoroughly planned that way). The acoustics of the theater itself is my main concern in said balcony. We chose the seats upon the recommendation of my brother who said the balcony is good and that it’s a prime seat.
Wrong. Do not ever sit at the balcony.
The stereo system is quite lacking and often times the movie experience is entirely not there when there is absolutely no surround sound or sound penetration all the way into the back. It’s as if you’re listening to front facing audio instead of front, back, left, and right audio. I was so aghast that a movie theater like this would have such poor audio.
Luckily for me I’ve already seen this movie at an AMC in the SFV. If it was not for that, I would perhaps got up during the movie, stared down the people in the back of me kicking my chair and left this place with a 1 star review.

This is the best — absolutely best — theater in Los Angeles! Not only is it clean and well maintained, the theater seats are comfortable and the quality of the sound and picture is absolutely amazing. They have some of the best 3D projection I have seen.
Besides the theater itself, the biggest reason I come to this theater is because of the employees. Just last night, I left my laptop bag strapped to the back of my seat and forgot to bring it with me after the movie let out. I called the theater for help and spoke to an employee named Diana. Diana immediately went to check the theater and found my bag and left it at guest services for me.
Do you know how rare it is for that to happen? Usually, employees will be to lazy or busy to help you but Diana at the theater went out of her way to find my bag. And not only that, she was honest enough to return it even when it had a brand new IPad and expensive pair of sunglasses in it. The reason I come to this theater is because I know the staff here is amazing. I had a problem at another competing theater (It’s by the Staples Center) and they wouldn’t lift a finger to help me.
Pacific Theaters is the only theater that not only has great theaters, sound and picture but they have amazing employees who will actually help you if you ever leave anything in the theater or ever need any help. To me, that’s enough to always come here.

So I do love this place. I hate The Grove during the Holidays but I really really like this theater.
Let me set the scene: I’m on hyper-​excitement to watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Had my tickets and seats bought for the last 3 months! It was raining that night, which in Southern California means people all of a sudden forget how to drive. :(I had left my place an hour before the movie because I anticipated SOME traffic — not the end of days traffic happening around the entire block. (road rage isn’t even the half of it!) Anyway, with the closed streets for holiday goers visiting the Grove lights/Santa’s village and the neighborhood parking over crowded, it took me 40 minutes to move .2 miles to the parking structure.
My movie was starting at 4 and at 3:58 I wasn’t anywhere remotely near the parking structure. So I called in frustration (and desperation) to beg them to honor my tickets for a later showing. Alex/​Adam/​Anthony — whoever it was had the voice of patience and calm. He told me it was not a problem, they were aware of the situation on the streets and would honor the tickets for a later showing whenever I got in. I immediately felt at ease. He handled the conversation beautifully and even got me to laugh at the end. Great Customer Service!
Other than that — the concessions are fully stocked with the right candies and I got an Icee with my popcorn for the first time. Might be my new thing at the theaters! :)
This place is beautiful and large. You can’t go wrong grabbing a flick here — just try not to do it during the holidays.

Within reason security will let you bring a bag if you half too. But taking it to your car would be better. But if you got your life with you or animals then no. Come on now. They serve food there, they serve food next door. As for your life keep it in your home. I myself carry a backpack now and then and I never had a problem.
Love this place. I was here for the Grand Opening. Taking in JOY for tonight. They got pizza, pretzels, nachos, and the best, flavor for the popcorn. my favorite is kettle corn. I wish they had the 100 flavor coke machine. Asigned seats. Late shows. Respect. no hallway chitchat. Its at the Grand Los Angeles historical Landmark Farmers Market.
No false Fire Alarms at the première of Star Wars the force Awakens is going to keep me away from here.
During the day the kids can ride the trolly while you wait for the show. Theres a spot upstairs at the theatre to wait too. Im not a critic but i know what makes money and this place is money

Wonderful, friendly service. We went to see Star Wars the force awakens on opening night. Was pretty crowded but not horrible. Theater is nice and clean and the staff was doing well for it being such a hectic night. It was a very good experience!

They did finally get on board with assigned seating at this theater, but getting in and out of the parking lot at the Grove is a stroke inducing inducing nightmare, the theaters themselves and especially the bathrooms are filthy, and some of the employees are extremely rude (like the ones who screamed at me for going in 15 minutes before the Starwars movie was about to begin, because they hadn’t finished cleaning — okay, I get it, but I’m not your child!

I bought 745 pm tickets for Star Wars opening night. As others have indicated, it was a disaster.
The theater has 1 job — play the movie and make sure its good sound and good quality. They failed miserably.
Right as previews ended a fire alarm went off. We had to wait ~30 minutes if not more to return to the theater. Frankly, that was ok. IF there is a fire alarm, I acknowledge the need for safety.
Upon returning they had to stop and re-​start the movie about 3 times to get the 3-​D into focus. At one point, they restarted the film about 30 – 40 minutes into it giving us advanced viewing of an amazing action scene. The entire crowd was beyond pissed off.
Most of the theater walked out. I was shocked there was not even a fight given some folks threw drinks and their 3-​d glasses.
I remained because as the father of little kids along with my buddy who has young ones as well — we rarely get out for such a night and so we had to take advantage.
The 2 hour film was amazing. But the theater was a disaster. The screening we finally saw was only in perfect focus with solid 3-​D about 20% of the time. My buddy gave up trying and just watched it blurry without hte glasses. A lot of the time with glasses it was blurry for me as well. It was beyond awful.
Again — the theater has 1 job, they failed miserably.
As we exited the theater, I also came across — right in the middle of the aisle — an open, locked, switchback knife. Scary. Clearly someone thought to actually use this!
Well, theater staff reassured us upon leaving and also prior to restarting the film that refunds and compensation would be given. In sub-​par screening experiences, I usually get vouchers immediately after leaving the theater. Not this time. We had to wait in a line of about 75 – 100 theatergoers deep for ours. After ending 1+ hour late, plus babysitters at home there was simply no way.
The evening overall was an example of terrible management. That night — on the floor — there was seemingly only one person with real authority to do anything in a sea of 100’s of moviegoers on biggest night of the year. Plus looked like they only had 2 – 3 extra security guards/​renta-​cops onhand. Unreal.
BTW — the fire alarm pull was cited in a recent New York Times article as well.
It is now a few days later. I have called the theater for a refund. I was told no problem, hold on. Iwas left on hold for nearly 10 minutes and nobody returned. I called back 3 separate times and each time after about 30 rings, someone picks up and then immediately hangs up without taking the call.
This theater clearly has no regard for its customers or reasonable customer service. I was not eager to write a scathing Unilocal review. But I feel compelled. I assumed, like reasonable people, they would easily refund me the money and I could go on my way.
I will do everything I can to avoid this theater in the future. They completely soured what should have been an amazing night at the theater. Simply ruined.
Again — they have one job — and they failed.
Beyond disappointed.

I am so upset at how we were treated at this theater. We bought tickets about a month in advance on Fandango for Star Wars 7. It was assigned seating, but we still decided to get there early. We waited 2 hours at The Grove for the movie to start. Sat outside the theater while they cleaned. It felt amazing to finally sit in our seats.
Halfway into the previews, 3 people walked up to our seats and told us we were sitting in their seats. We double checked our tickets and we were definitely in the correct seats. They walked away and grabbed a theater employee who asked to see our tickets. So we gave her our ticket stubs and they walked away.
Right when the movie started, the employee came back and told us they issued two sets of tickets for the same seats. She tried to tell us the people who came late bought their tickets before us, so we needed to give up our seats. I looked up at her and told her no in the calmest way I could. It was a frustrating situation, but I tried to be polite about it. I told her I’m sorry, but this is not our fault. We bought our tickets ahead of time and got to our seats first.
For the next 10 minutes, the people who were assigned the same seats as us sat on the steps right next to us, making it super awkward and uncomfortable.
Although it wasn’t anyone’s fault, I still think it’s a bit rude of the employee to ask us to leave. Especially since we were already seated and settled in. She definitely could’ve handled the situation better.

Went to watch Star Wars on opening night. There was a false fire alarm that went off. All the people in the theatre were forced out of the theater and made to wait without any sort of notice. The movie was delayed for about an hour. Had to cancel all my plans afterwards. On top of that to make things worse, I was charged $ 8 for parking because of the delay. It was one of the worst experience I had at a movie theater. Also, the theater is a mess. The staff does a horrible job keeping it clean. Most of them just stand around talking to each other. Will never go here again.

I’m a writer, so I always have my book bag, with my laptop with me. Also, the Pacific Theater at The Grove is the most convenient theater to me, via public transportation.
Just found out today, after buying a movie ticket online, that they don’t allow, for «security reasons,» book bags in the theater. Since I took public transportation and had no place to put my bag, I had no choice but to get a refund. Since I usually take public transportation, it looks like they just lost a regular customer.

You can buy your tickets in advance with reserved seating. They validate 4 hours of parking at the structure. Always have the latest releases.
This is usually my preferred theater.

Just another overpriced, stadium seating, max occupancy theater. Pacific adds no charm, no flavor, and nothing special to the viewing experience. You have to «reserve a seat,» and if you do it online, you pay an extra fee on top of your exorbitant ticket price.
The upside of this place is that it has a lot of seating and is near the Grove. For a casual movie-​watching experience (not a première or anything special), you can probably get a seat here and also have a nice experience eating or meandering through the Grove.
Parking at the Grove can be a pain, and thankfully, Pacific will validate some of the cost away. They have a little machine where you can get your ticket punched after viewing your movie.
I wouldn’t ever recommend this theater to someone, but I would probably assent to going here if it was suggested to me.

This is definitely my go to movie theater, because of its proximity to where I live and its awesome location in the Grove-​one of my fave places in LA! Being at the Grove makes it easy to grab a meal at the awesome Farmer’s Market or one of the many restaurants and eateries before or after catching a movie, or you can purchase or return items at the many stores in the plaza.
I love that they have assigned seating! The seats are comfy, and I’ve never had a problem here with the audio or visual while watching a movie.
Don’t forget to validate your parking ticket!

Located at The Grove, so there’s plenty of things to do if you have time to spend before or after the movie. This movie theater was not bad. You can buy your tickets at one of the kiosks or with a live person at the counter. They have reserved seating at this theater. That comes in handy for a popular new release, so you know that you have a seat and not have to send somebody to reserve a seat while the other goes to the restroom or the concession stands. It seems a silly though when you’re watching in an empty movie theater because that movie has been ripped apart by the critics. Restrooms were pretty clean. The seats were pretty comfortable. We were here for an afternoon movie, so I’m guessing things would be a bit more dirtier and chaotic for a much busier weekend time slot.

I love reserved seating theaters. This place has it and the seats are great!
It’s a nice theater. Great sound, overpriced snacks like everywhere else so that’s not something negative.
Cool factor is that it’s in the grove which means you can either chill outside before your movie or continue your journey after its done. Gives a pretty cool feel about it.
They validate so no parking fees yaaaaaas!

I did it.
I braved the Grove’s crowds to catch Asif Kapadia’s «Amy» on the big screen!
The ticket collectors were genuinely friendly and helpful.
With their clear directions, I didn’t get lost by the popcorn butter, and
nobody had to send a search party for me. The cinema’s big, and the Art-​Deco décor nods to the mystique of Hollywood’s golden age.
The assigned seating made it easy to find a great seat with both a good view and personal space… even before I arrived! I loved that the seats didn’t recline — they’re seats for people who sit like grown-​ups and actually like to pay attention to movies
The last twenty minutes of «Amy» were REALLY upsetting. I was glad to have a few empty seats around me, so that I could sniffle, snort and weep into my soft pretzel.
(Note: tears are not a good substitute for mustard!)
By the end of the film, I was too stunned and tear-​drenched to move. I waited ’til the theatre had emptied, and the credits had rolled. I think the staff understood, and they didn’t move me on.
On the way out, one of the ushers — with hair worthy of a leading Jazz singer in her own right — asked me, «Did you enjoy it?».
At first I though, «I know I’m not wearing mascara, but did you notice the trails of tears on my grief-​stricken face?!» (I kept that to myself.)
I realized she was helping me, and she’d snapped me back to reality. I replied, «Yes, it was really good, but really sad.». I was thankful.
The only drawback was that the air conditioning didn’t seem to be working in the theatre, so I felt like I really WAS in Florida on one of Amy Winehouse’s recording sessions.

Aside for the seats always feeling a bit moist when you sit down… This theater is actually quite nice and well maintained and with 12 theaters, you certainly have your fare share of movie options!
That all being said, I really don’t go to the movies too often because the prices are just ridiculous! $ 17 for an evening movie ticket? If I ever do head to the movies, it’s during matinée hours but even then I feel like I’m being robbed… And with all the movies sucking these days, the feeling is only that much more intense!
The one great thing about how expensive this movie theater is (and theaters in LA in general I guess), is that perhaps it will steer people away from the obesity counter… Ha! Yeah right. Much like getting gas for your car, people feel it paramount to order tubs and tubs of stale, trans fat laden popcorn…
Who’s drooling for a moist seat, old popcorn and a wallet «raping»? Not me… However, this theater is closest to where I live (and as I said, pretty clean for the amount of foot traffic it gets) so if I do want to see a movie, this is where I go.

I went here on the opening weekend of the avengers age of ultron. It’s in a very convenient location. If you are waiting for a movie, there are plenty of places to eat and shop at.
I purchased my tickets online, which allowed me to pick my seats beforehand. I actually went over to the Cheesecake Factory and had dinner until the movie started. I didn’t want to sit through the previews so it worked out great.
Plenty of parking in the structure. Just be sure to have your tickets validated before leaving the theater.

Meh.
This place is fine. There are definitely better movie theaters around. The seats aren’t very comfortable, the restrooms are tiny, and the ticketing process isn’t anything different from anywhere else. On top of these potential pitfalls the tickets are pricey, and parking is $ 2.50 even after validation.
I go elsewhere whenever I can, but occasionally I get lured to the Grove, and end up seeing a movie here. Usually when it’s a free screening of something. Little else would make me venture here.
Overall, it’s fine, but if you can then you should go see a movie somewhere else.

El lugar esta muy limpio. Hay por donde caminar y distraerse un buen rato. En caso de hacer linea para la película, no te dejan esperar por mucho tiempo.

We were able to walk straight through with our tickets (ticket and dinner voucher were given to upon checking in at conceriger) after dinner. There was no waiting in line and etc. As I walked in I noticed the movie «The Boy Next Door.» I then walked back towards the front desk and asked them if I could just watch The Boy Next Door instead of Into the Woods. They simply reprinted our tickets and we were able to watch a different movie for no extra cost.
