I have been coming to Ori’s for about 5 years now! I’m not very good at getting my maintenance when it’s ideal, and most of the time come when my brakes are making crazy sounds, my service light has been on too long, or I remember it’s been a year since my last oil change. Regardless, Paul is very personable and helps get whatever I need done in a timely manner! My dad has gone to get some servicing done too, and as a car guy — my dad also loves Ori’s Service Center!

After many years of relying on Ori’s for all types of automotive maintenance, the service at this professionally operated shop has remained exceptionally good. It wouldn’t make sense for me to go anywhere else. Bonuses = a very good selection of current reading material; excellent background music; interesting sculpture; and lots of cool places to walk to, (if that’s your preference), whilst your vehicle is being serviced.

As a woman it’s always intimidating going to a mechanic’s shop, but my experience at Ori’s could not have been better. I got there around 8am and they got me right in to check my battery and make sure it was ok after having to be jumped the night before. Paul told me straight up that my battery passed the test, but it would probably only last 6 more months. He didn’t even charge me for the test! Seriously, this place is great and I will be back the next time I have issues.

My brakes started to squeak and wanted it done quickly without missing work. I work across the street from Oris so I thought I’d give them a shot. The Asian dude was nice and checked me in quickly. About maybe 30 – 40 minutes I get a call letting me know my front pads are gone plus my rotors need replacement. I was quoted a great price and got my car back pretty quickly compared to other places I’ve gone to. I normally do my work by myself but was a bit lazy this time. Oris got me in and out about the same time I finished eating lunch. Thanks a bunch! I’ll recommend this place for quick, friendly, affordable auto work. Thanks again!

A friend recommended Ori’s to me when I first moved here. I was a faithful customer for 15 years, until I moved. As a woman, I could count on this place to tell me like it is, and not upsell me every time I came in for an oil change. They were great about telling me stuff that would need fixing soon, but I could wait a little, so I could save the money. They always made room for my car so I could wait and get out asap, since I was always on my lunch break at work. Honest and trustworthy, two words that are hard to find in mechanics/​automotive industry. I’m sad I have to find someone else in the valley now.

The most trusted and reliable auto mechanics in LA. Do my usual oil changes and brake changes here and also any smog check! They do the job fast and very reliable. Glad to have these guys around the neighborhood! Come check it out for yourself, won’t be disappointed.

This is the worst place you can possibly go to get your car fixed or simply to change some tires. I have a brand new 2015 Lexus that I paid 2000 for my tires. The manager did not even offer me a warranty on the tires. I got a nail in the tire they chose to fix the tire instead of putting a new one for me. This is the worst place you can possibly go to trust me. BEWARE check out pristine auto instead found a new spot that I trust completely and they have not lied to me so far and I tested them one time just to be sure. First, I never Unilocal so know they are awesome that I even took the time to do this.
Had a minor issue w a tire, (rock stuck in it making a horrible noise) and stopped in as they were recommended by friends.
Mike was on the spot very helpful, and I was in and out in no time! They were pleasant, understanding and efficient. I would highly recommend them!

Unfortunately it doesn’t get to be a glowing one, and I didn’t even spend a dime at this place. But I WAS a customer so you may find this review helpful.
I came in because my brakes were squeaking and I wanted to make sure the brake pads were okay. I had read good reviews so I wanted to give them a shot. I was informed by the auto shop that my brake pads were fine, and that buying new ones would be a waste of money. I was appreciative of the honesty.
They then went on to say my car could use a oil change and they could do it for $ 32. I felt somewhat obligated to say yes because they’d looked at my breaks for free but I’d done an oil change about 2 weeks ago so I knew I didn’t need one. So I told him no thanks, but I wouldn’t mind a oil filter change and I can add my own oil as I still had some oil left over so I’d rather just not waste money. I was a bit put off when the mechanic said it wouldn’t even be worth it so he didn’t do the filter change. THAT’S not why I’m giving them two stars though, as I’m not familiar with their business enough to make judgements even if I think that’s silly to refuse to change an oil filter if you can’t do an oil change also.
When I left however, I noticed that along with all of them being smudged and grimed up, TWO of the wheel covers on my car had been cracked. Now I’ve replaced wheel covers myself and know they can crack easily, but for an auto mechanic, whose supposed to do this professionally to do this TWICE and NOT tell me is unacceptable, and because of it, one of the covers fell off the very next day while I was driving.
I’m not sure if this happened because they were upset I didn’t take the oil change or because they just are careless mechanics but either way, it’ll be my last trip to this location.

Took my Mazda MX-​5 in for a battery check, which they performed at no charge. He performed the test while I was there looking on, explained a bit about the numbers, and suggested I put in a new battery. I told him I’d rather save the labor costs and put it in myself. The mechanic told me that, rather than buying one from them, I’d be better off going across the street to AutoZone, where it would be less expensive. How’s that for honesty? He gave me a free battery check, verified I knew how to do the labor, and then sent me somewhere else to buy the part! As it turns out, I did some research and for my car the Interstate batteries that Ori’s carries are of a higher quality than the comparably priced Duralast batteries at AutoZone, and the price to have it installed at Ori’s is the same as buying one at AutoZone. So I’m going back to have Ori’s do the job. They earned the business.

Awesome service with competitive pricing! I got an estimate for brake servicing at another shop off of Highland and ended up saving ~$ 120 at Ori’s. I love that this place has a reputation for honest repair work. I will definitely be back, I just wish I would have started coming here sooner!

I just moved to the area. Last time I got an oil change from where I used to live, I was told I needed new rear brakes very soon. I didn’t have time that day so said I would return.
Fast forward, came to Ori’s for an oil change and to have the brakes changed. Left my car and went home.
Within 20 minutes I get a call from mike and he asks me why I wanted to change my rear brakes. I said I was told last oil change they were almost at 2 mm they told me. He said well they were just trying to sell you something then. They are fine. I’m just going to change the oil. Oh, and also, you have a nail in one of your tires, want me to fix it? I knew something was up cuz I have repeatedly filled one tire with air. So I said of course!
Doesn’t get more honest than this shop. They could have left my car and charged me for brakes and I wouldn’t have known I guess.
I will be coming here from now on.

Wonderful customer service! I highly recommend Ori’s. I showed up right when they opened with a weird problem. The man looked at it, fixed and I was back on my way to work in 10 minutes

Excellent Hollywood Mechanics. Manager Paul and Jamie are friendly, hospitable and great at car repair and maintenance. They are the best. Word of mouth sent me here from a good friend. I’m glad I found this shop. Honest, trustworthy, fair and reliable. Hard to find in today’s world, especially with car mechanics. I highly recommend them. Five stars all around. Two thumbs up!

Just received a follow-​up call from Paul at Ori’s, who asked me very specific questions about my experience and review — not being defensive or antagonistic, but just calmly asking questions so he could make suggestions to the mechanic who looked at my car. I really appreciated his honesty and thoroughness — he really wanted to know how things could have gone better and what would have fixed my anxieties.
So, all in all, while I haven’t been back, I think this speaks well of a business, and I might be inclined to give them another try in the future, and perhaps just be a little more forthright in asking questions and asking them to slow down if I need a better explanation, to be sure that my car actually needs what they’re suggesting.

Walked over and told Mike that I need to extract an oil drain plug, (back out the screw) I told him I tightened the screw too much and the head of the screw ripped off, He looked slightly angry while I was explaining it. He said «bring the car in so i could look at it», I said «sure!» I brought it in and an Asian guy started helping me who, by surprise, very nice, then mike came over to look at the car and said «the head is ripped off»?!

I came here for tire replacement, the service was very fast and the person was very generous and professional he worked very fast and he was honest I will definitely return to that place.

My tire pressure indicator light was on, and I also needed an oil change and general check up. Just moved to LA so didn’t know where to take my car, but my neighbour recommended Ori’s and told me she felt they were honest and that they had turtles there haha. Which is true. The tiny turtle pond definitely made my trip a bit more pleasant! I didn’t make an appointment and just showed up there on a Friday at 1pm. They asked if I could leave my car and return, but after saying that I just wanted to wait in the office, they said they could work on my car immediately.
Paul was the one helping me out, and Jaime was my technician. They were both nice and Paul especially was really funny haha I had fun chatting with him. And I liked that we chatted by my car so they could show me what they were doing and explained things to me. I had a pretty deep rip on one of my tires so I decided to replace the front two and I was satisfied with the price — he charged me less than what I paid for my previous tires! I paid around $ 90/​tire (Doral tires). Whereas I paid $ 110/​tire for the same brand at the last tire place I went to in canyon country.
So I got tires and my oil changed, and Jaime helped check out a bunch of other things for me along the way. Like he topped up my coolant, and adjusted my handbrake which he said was too loose/​high up — something that had always been that way but the toyota dealership I used to go to never explained that to me nor adjusted it for me!
So after all that, my car was ready and good to go in 1 hour!!! I find it pretty awesome that I turned up with no appointment, and was done in 1 hour with new tires and all that. And on top of that, it was a pleasant experience and I actually had fun haha cause I was chatting and joking the whole time. Maybe I could have found a cheaper place in a different neighbourhood, but I think the pricing was totally reasonable, and for the speed and customer service, definitely worth it. I think this might be my place now! I’ll be coming back for when my car next needs a fix. And I’ll bring snacks for the turtles.
