Oksana Skin Esthetics

I have been going there, just recently. I was a client for Laurie Brows for 7 years. Lori referred all her clients to Oksana when she moved out of town. Oksana is wonderful ! from facials to eyebrows and more !!! She knows her stuff. She makes everyone feel special. I have loved all my treatments from her. The location is amazing and the shop is beautiful. I will go no where else for my treatments. You must go see her.

Decide to give this place a try in a search of not ridiculously overpriced lash extensions place.(and I was going to vacation to Hawaii and didn’t want to be bothered with eye make up)
First of all, place is really cute, cozy, and super clean, and you get complete attention from the owner as she is only one there, which is huge plus! Oksana turned out to be most professional, knowledgeable and caring esthetician I have ever visited.
I have never had eyelash extensions and was bit worried how they would turn out to be, as I have somewhat weak lashes and extremely sensitive eyes. Oksana really took her time explaining the procedure and assured me she will customize it according to what my natural lashes can hold. We decided to go with 12 mm and medium thickness — and in 75 min I looked in the mirror and saw most beautiful eyes ever, lol ! whole process was so calming and enjoyable that I also decided to add LED mini-​facial (which I have had before in other places and I love that treatment, and again — Oksana’s price on it is beyond reasonable and machine itself is way better) and in anoher 30 min later I left with most dreamy, glowing and redness-​free skin ever!
Will def be back!
FYI, lashes are STILL ON, since September 5, only couple fell out, wow!

Oksana did a fabulous skin treatment for me. Her center is beautiful, serene and very clean. Her service exceeded my expectations and I am thrilled with the results.

I was really lucky to find Oksana during my search for an esthetician. She’s the only one I’ve been to and stuck with for now, 5 years and counting. She’s friendly and warm. She provides a slew of facials that is appropriate for your skin type. In my case, I have ridiculously oily skin. I tried a mini facial and paprika facial (lasts longer), which really made my skin look so much brighter. Of course after a facial your skin becomes really sensitive and red. After about 1 – 2 days, my skin calms down and appears more vibrant. I would have never thought my skin looked so dull until after the appointment… In any case! I highly recommend Oksana for your skin needs! If you have a special event, see her a few days prior so that your skin can be in its best shape the day of!
Another perk: She has dedicated parking spots in the back!

Not for me, but got my wife a deep pore cleansing or something for her birthday, and she loved it. My wife is (sadly) obsessed with her skin, and we get stupid deliveries from Sephora at least once a week. Anyways, read some good reviews on Oksana, and called her, and she was really nice. My wife was super happy with the gift (first time ever she liked a gift I got her, besides a gift certificate to Sephora once). Thank you Oksana for making me look good!

Oksana is wonderful. She is thoughtful, skilled and most importantly, an artist.
I first went to her for a simple eyebrow wax and I now trust her for all my esthetic needs. It’s hard to trust someone with something as precious as ones face! But with Oksana, you know that she is so great at what she does and that she genuinely cares.
I am so grateful I found her… there truly and simply is nobody better than Oksana.

Although I have acne-​prone, sensitive skin, I don’t get facials very often because of the price. However, I had just moved to LA for the summer after a week-​long cruise where I slept with make up on and my skin was a mess, so I found Oksana through Unilocal.
I cannot emphasize how amazing the facial was for my skin! Oksana is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I was hesitant because the price for the deep pore cleansing facial seemed too good to be true ($ 75 when other facials I’ve had ranged from $ 90-​$ 150,) but it exceeded my expectations and I would’ve paid even more for it! My face went from having whiteheads and more painful, nodule type bumps to being completely smooth the next day. I went back 3 – 4 times throughout the summer when my skin would act up again and consistently got the same great results.
I like that she never pushed products on me, but I did end up purchasing a face mask from her that may be my favorite face mask ever. Highly recommend Oksana Skin Esthetics and will be back the next time I’m in LA!

Went for a Brazilian wax (saw a special on lifebooker) and I booked my appt online through lifebooker (no hassle, yay) and I came in and she was very nice and attentive and talked me through it. All the ladies know this is nothing to smile about but she was very nice and patient with me.

I went today for a deep pore cleansing facial that I bought from groupon, and since I was looking for a total overhaul for my skin, I ended up adding on a microdermabrasion for the current special price ($ 75). My face is VERY sensitive and although some of the products slightly burned and tingled at first, Oksana assured me that this was a normal response. Sure enough, the tingling subsided and I was left with a beauitiful, pink, healthy glow.
Oksana was professional and very kind. She explained details of the procedure and was very informative yet not pushy about products. When I explained that I was happy with my current products due to extreme sensitivity, she completely respected that and did not push products on me.
I am going back next month! Thanks Oksana!

Best results EVER! All modesty and vanity aside, my skin looks amazing! I’m thrilled to make this discovery.
I got the paprika facial which was a first for me. I had never heard of this and will now consider it a must have. She also did an electrode process on me that helped plump up my skin, made it tighter and increased blood flood. I’m had a lovely pinkish glow for days now. Considering she also was very intense (though not painful at all) doing extractions and thoroughly cleaned my very oily skin and congested pores, it’s even better. I’m happy I made an appointment in another 6 weeks. Maybe I’ll consider having her put some lashes on me too…
On a personal note, Oksana is a lovely person. Very sweet and engaging on top of being very professional.

I loved, already few years! Place is beautiful, Oksana sweet and professional. After her magic touch I look 10 years yaunger. What can be better for woman… Truly recomended

I visited Oksana after my friend told me she had a good experience with her and really liked her. I guess it really depends on your skin type as to whether you get good results or not. My friend’s face looked good afterward (the next day I saw her without makeup).
Let me just start off with saying that I waited 40 minutes for her when I arrived even though I had an appointment. I decided to wait it out because my friend said she was good. I got a facial, extraction and light therapy. However, my face looked red, swollen, irritated, extremely patchy, raw and painful for 4 days, during which I avoided going out. I prayed that my skin would at least go back to how it was before I saw her. It is not as red now but still feels extremely raw and it is still healing from the harshness.
I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. During the extraction, she put so much pressure on my face that I literally thought my bones would crush underneath and I had to ask her to stop putting pressure in that area. She did stop after I asked her. However, I find it disturbing that she would feel comfortable to put that much pressure on a human’s face. All I could think was wholly *&^%. I told her I was concerned with scaring because I scar easily. She replied by blaming me that I came to her in the first place with a problem area and if I didn’t want her to create scars, I should not come to her with it. I was simply trying to tell her to be careful with my skin. She used her bare hands with a tissue in between for extractions. Her fingernails had like a dull blue or black chipped nail polish on them. They did not look clean.
She came off as rude although I am pretty sure she doesn’t realize that she comes off that way. She asks you a question, then tells you not to talk with you try to answer it. She is very blunt and does not have a kind personality. My friend also warned me that is a little rude and after my visit I must say, my friend is right. She also tries to sell you stuff afterward (which she did to my friend too) and she claims that your face won’t get better without them, which is kind of annoying.
I just want to warn others out there because there are a lot of good reviews on her. I guess she is only good with certain skin types because my face reacted horribly. It’s been almost a week and my skin is still recovering. I will not return to her. I would not recommend her. I would rather just find another facial place, which there are literally millions of them in LA!
Update: Yesterday I went for my Brazillian wax. The esthatician saw my face and asked me how I scratched it. I told her it was from my facial (which was one week ago). We got to talking and we realized that one of the reasons my face may have had a horrible reaction. Because I used Tazorac and RetinA on my skin (2 prescription lotions I use on my face) a couple days before the facial. I told Oksana that I use these at home before she started my facial. However apparently you are not supposed to get a facial with in seven days of using these medications. Apparently, this is common knowledge between esthaticians and Oksana should not have done my facial after I told her I used these medications. However she did it anyways because she did not want to loose the sale (about 160 $ which included 2 things I bought). She sacrificed my skin health to make a buck.
UPDATE (7÷8÷12):
I wrote Okxana back and told her I was out of town so I could not come in to see her. I do not want to call her because I would rather discuss the matter with my bank and people who I can trust.

hello Unilocalers! sorry to be a negative nancy (not usually my style) but I had to let the public know that Oksana does not run her business professionally. I don’t support bad business practice. there are too many good business people out there! anyway, if you want to hear the boring details you can read my long review below…
in December I purchased 2 groupons for a facial at this location. since January I have tried to make appointments with the shop owner, Oksana. she has never once picked up her phone so I usually leave her a long msg saying that i would like to redeem my groupon stating which times I am avail etc. I also gave the 2^nd Groupon to a coworker of mine as a gift and she also has had a problem reaching Oksana. she called her numerous times since February and did not receive a call back. Oksana has returned two of my many calls. One of the times she called back (in january), I asked for a saturday appt and she said the next avail one is in March! so I told her I will call her back in 10 min to see which weekday I can make it. she never answered and didn’t return any of my other calls thereafter until March 29. I answered, and we set an appointment for April 3^rd. I was frustrated that it took so long to make contact with her but at this point I just wanted to redeem my facial so I stuck to the appt. I asked that the appt be made at 7pm since i work down town till 6pm. but she insisted on making it 6:45 even though I explained to her it will be hard to make that time and I will probably not make it until 7. she said OK but that she will just «write» down 6:45. it didn’t seem like a big deal at all but when I got to her appt at 7:03 she refused to see me and said I was late! I reiterated the conversation we had ³⁄₂₉ where I told her I will probably not make it till 7. then I explained to her that I drove all the way from down town LA during traffic hour and paid for meter parking near her shop but she still refused to take her appt. this was strange to me. a client refusing to help her paying customer. anyone want to buy my 2 groupons? lol.

Oksana gives good facial! I had a groupon and she treated me with respect and very professional! She does apply the cleaning products, steaming and leaves the room for a bit, but I didn’t mind this. The steam smell was chamomile, kind of bugged my allergies but wasn’t that bad. I’m going to ask for cinnamon next time.
I have a pretty sensitive nose and smelled like the steam machine could use some cleaning, but that’s all. Once Oksana started the extractions, it didn’t hurt nearly as bad as this other place in Glendale I use to go to. Oksana was very gentle and kind and didn’t comment on my blackheads, this one salon use to say, ‘My you got alot of blackheads.’ You don’t want to hear that, you want someone who will help you with your problems, not rub them in. I also don’t get extractions around my cycle, your face is very sensitve during that time. I shall always go to Oksana for facials, she is the best!

I went to Oksana yesterday to get one of her hot paprika facials. Thanks to a Groupon, I got a great deal for a facial that normally costs $ 95. This was my first facial in a VERY long time. My last facial was back in high school, about 5 – 6 years ago (is this putting a number to my age???) and the experience was not that great. I had gotten it done at one of the cheaper Asian salons in the SGV. The extraction process made my entire face red, swollen, irritated, and painful. I don’t remember my face being steamed like it was done at Oksana. Instead, I had a hot towel wrap, if my memory serves me correctly.
Anyway, the facial was amazing. First, Oksana gently cleaned my face and then applied a tingling exfoliation mask to my face. Then she started to steam my face. The steam, though a bit uncomfortable at first, was delightful because it smelled like cinnamon! One of my favorite spices! I literally wanted to open my mouth and drink in the steam, but that would be like.. .totally weird right? After my face was steamed for about 5 minutes, Oksana gently removed the tingling exfoliation mask and, while still steaming, began to massage my face, neck and shoulders. The massage was tickly (I don’t get massages very open) but was very relaxing. The lotion (or whatever) she used smelled like lavender and it was super calming and lovely. After about 5 minutes of this, she turned off the steam, cleaned off my face, and then she put on some special goggles over my eyes and moved the large light overhead. I heard the snap of rubber gloves and even before Oksana told me, I knew what was coming next. The dreaded extraction process.
The extraction, though somewhat painful, was not NEARLY as close to the pain I experienced at that Asian salon. She told me if I felt any discomfort at any time during, I should tell her and she would stop. Even if it was a little hurty, I didn’t want her to stop because I wanted all the gunk in my pores out! But it was not painful at all. It just felt like a pinch here and there. After she cleared out the dirt, oil & makeup that had been clogging my pores for 5 – 6 years (gross, I know), she put something cooling on my face and then proceeded to apply the hot paprika mask.
Oksana warned me beforehand that the mask may make my face red. Since my cheeks were flushed already from the sun, she said there may be the chance I could turn tomato red! Despite this, she told me the hot paprika is supposed to encourage blood circulation by bringing oxygen to the skin, thereby repairing and healing the skin. The mask itself was interesting. It literally feels spicy — a tingling, hot, burning sensation you would feel if you ate a spicy pepper. It was kinda cool. At one point the burning was starting to become uncomfortable, but it subsided. After the mask set, Oksana came back, gently removed the mask, and then applied some soothing lotion, some drying solution on some problem areas, and then applied sunscreen.
When I got up, my face was very flushed. I looked like I had a bad sunburn. My eyes were circles of white inside a pink watermelon. I looked hideous but my skin felt taut, clean, and baby-​butt smooth. It was worth all the weird looks walking out of the salon. The redness subsided about 40 minutes later. But throughout the night, my face had a pinkish glow, which was a nice change from my usual pale-​white coloring.
Overall, my experience with Oksana was really awesome. It’s just too bad she is too far away!

So I found Oksana on Lifebooker, read great reviews and decided to go to her for a waxing… down there.
She’s very knowledgeable in her craft which is something most people value in a person who is going to be ripping out hairs from their hoo-​ha utilizing hot wax. Oksana talked me through the whole process and made me laugh a few times which is a rare thing to do in a situation like this unless you’re into that kind of thing (no judging). And even though she was efficient (the whole process lasted less than 15 minutes) she was incredibly thorough according to the person who examined her work the next night.
So all in all, five stars and I will be going to Oksana from now on!

I’ve never been too into facials but now I’m hooked! She’s great & the Glow Facial was perfect for my oily/​acne prone skin. I highly recommend making an appointment with her!

I am a big fan of Oksana’s. She has been giving me facials for four years! She gives a very deep cleansing european style facial. I have oily, sensitive, aging, delicate skin and she can work a miricle on it! Brining back the glow and making it feel so soft again, along with making me feel fantastic about myself! She offers many types of facials depending on what your skin needs, along with waxing and eyelash extensions and
peels.

I don’t know what was in the products… my face was so red and burning for couple days. I never had this problem after facials.

Oksana is sweet. I went to her for eyelash extensions, after i saw her ad on Unilocal.The actual process took an hour 30 – 40 minutes. The glue could be a little stingy– i couldn’t help tearing up when the glue hit my eyelid. but she was rather funny, and made the process enjoyable.
The eyelash turned out great– perhaps they could have been more curled, but i dont think that’s her fault. It was a good deal too, compared to others that i’ve compared prices to. I will see how long this lasts and decide if I should relash.
She told me she only sees clients based on appointments. So call ahead. She returns your call pretty promptly, and will call about 24 hours before to re-​confirm.
