I just happened to stumble upon this unique venue last night as I was surfing the net for something to do.
There’s a pre-​reception before the program where you can mingle and have a cocktail or two. After each program (3 programs), which involves several short films, there’s a Q and A session and after party.
Fyi, parking can be a problem so get there early and read all the street signs or you might end up with a missing vehicle. Entrance is near Stage 1. Oh and definitely check with them regarding film scenes that may not be appropriate for your underaged guests.

Seriously, the funnest thing you can do for cheap in LA.
If you want to get outside of the box and do something random, if you’re looking for a cool new date idea, if you love films and want to see a plethora of new talent in a fun environment this is a MUST. I luckily got comp’d tickets through
for a screening on Feb. 24th. It included access to two screenings back to back of short films from 6pm — 10:30pm. While that might seem like a lot of sitting, the time goes by pretty fast since they’re all shorts and each one ranges in 5 minutes to 23.
The event kicks off with a complimentary open bar (for members and special ticket holders which is what we had) with a small red carpet and pre-​press events inside of the reception area. We were then escorted (with drinks in hand) to a stage where the screenings were held. The best of the night was The RAVEN (Director: Christopher Saphire & Don Thiel III Time: 11 Mins. — Country: USA), seriously look out for it and these directors, it blew me away!
I was happy and thrilled to have walked away from the experience that I shared with my girlfriend and our good friends; the short films were certainly a hot topic after it ended as we discussed virtually all of the shorts we saw thus spinning the night into a second phase of fun.
I love this event, love that it is open to the public, love that you are put in touch with so much talent in a small room, love that we got to see twelve different styles of directing (which included animation), love the QA to see how the films went into production… I could go on and on.
I am seriously thinking about becoming a member.
