I’ve found my new favorite lunch spot! This place knows how to make a sandwich. A million times better than the Subway next door! I had the turkey bacon cheese club on sourdough. It was HUGE. I ended up saving half for later. The staff was nice and helpful. Will be returning very soon :)

A real mom and pop place. Has a NY feel to it. My colleagues have been going here and introduce me to it. First time I came here I ordered the turkey sandwich on wheat. Something simple but yet can easily be messed up but not at Nazo’s. The ingredients are fresh and the bread was soft. The price was a little bit expensive but it’s DTLA. There’s a subway on the same street corner, but I’d rather spend a few more bucks for a fresher sandwich. Second time I came here I ordered Ham sandwich on croissant. Again the ingredients are really fresh and the croissant was nicely baked. This will be my go to spot for lunch for sandwiches.

Wow o wow! Is everything they serve so delicious?! Yes! Everything ive ordered is sooo good. They have a knack for pastries and sandwiches. Ive tried many different sandwiches in downtown but none of them stack up to Nazos. You can taste the freshness and quality! My favorite is the club on roll, add pesto add pickles! It has a great variety of meats! Soooo good and hearty! In the morning try any of their sweet pastries. I believe the parents come way early in the morning to bake them. The chocolate one is bonkers good! Also its great bc u can tell its a family owned small business thats been there for a while. Cheers

Had the chocolate chip cookie and it’s delicious. Went at 1:45 and they were almost out of everything! Super friendly guys. Cookie was crunchy but nice and soft on inside

The sandwiches and pastries are outstanding. I love stopping in for a ham and cheese croissant before hitting the office. If I’m in the mood, I get a box full of breakfast pastries and it’s always a huge hit.

I love this place! Everything I have had here is amazing to the point where I crave it again the next day. There baked goods are fresh and delicious especially their croissants. I love their Albacore Tuna Salad and the Chicken Pesto and Cranberry Sandwich. Those are my 2 go-to’s but I’m sure everything else is great.

Tomato Basil bagels are amazing! This place has lots of quick breakfast options and I must add they are real tasty. The tomato basil bagels are nicely cooked and almost always freshly baked. I would recommend these to everyone for sure. The shop is small with some seating inside if you are eating in. Usually there are seats since most everyone take items to go. They also offer coffees, cold drinks, and few other type pastries. The staff here are also friendly and they eventually get to know your name if you come often. I would recommend this place for sure for those looking for a quick breakfast either sit-in or on the go.

My usual is the delicious Avocado Sandwich on Croissant Bread. The cookies are also super yummy and full of chunky goodness. If you’re an avocado-lover like me, this is a taste of heaven. It has pickles, though, so if you don’t like it, ask for it without. I also hope to get their addicting brownies which are sometimes made Wednesdays or Thursdays or when they get a big order. They said I can call on to ask in advanced.

Delicious sandwiches. The vegetarian avocado sandwich is huge and fresh and delicious. I haven’t been back though due to concern for hygiene. It’s a hole in the wall and I’m a germaphobe but really it’s delicious

I can only review my Lunch combo($ 8) that comes with a huge sandwhich, soda and a bag of chips of your choice. They have weekly specials for the combo-good variety, and you can be sure your sandwhich is BIG! I got the tuna on wheat and boy was it THICK and BIG for the sandwhich. I was full off of just half! Lettuce and Tomato was fresh and you can always tell they are a great place to go when you see a long line of people outside the small store. I hear their breakfast is really good. Def coming back for breakfast!

Solid lunch place 2 blocks from work — glad I saw the lines out the door and stopped in! Rye bread, turkey bacon club, fresh lettuce/tomato/pickles, dijon/mayo — I’ll be back. And as soon as I can eat dairy again, I’m definitely trying that strawberry cheese croissant!!!

Went to Nazo’s this week(twice) after coveting a colleague’s chicken salad sandwich. I actually kind of wish Nazo’s had disappointed, so I didn’t have to think about whether to go to my mainstay Marie’s around the corner. The turkey, pesto, cheese and cranberry sandwich on oat bread hit the spot. The Greek salad was also good but not amazing. I’ll definitely be back to try other menu items, particularly the breakfast sandwiches. If you’re stopping by around the lunch rush, be prepared to wait a few minutes. It’s a popular place, and I can see why. As an aside, it’s next door to Pizza Next Door. The same family apparently owns both, and Pizza Next Door was quite good the one time I had it.

The strawberry cheese croissant, enough said. They sell out fast, so you have to get it first thing in the morning because they’re sold out by lunch. I saw a few people posted with complaints about this place, so I wanted to clarify a few things. This place is family owned, therefore, it will not have the same amenities as the big chain places. Also, they bake their bread fresh daily, so in order to have it fresh they can’t bake it at 9am for the lunch hour rush. I don’t know the owners personally, but I’ve seen them give food to homeless people on the street, so I know they aren’t soulless business people. But the reason I’m giving five stars is the croissant. It is that good!

I got the pesto with sun dried tomatoes sandwich. The chicken was dry which I didn’t even eat and took out of the sandwich. The bread was good though. The sun dried tomatoes were chewy and I thought I was eating paper stuck to the cheese. I was a bit disappointed since Ive heard amazing things about this place. The chocolate chip cookie was delicious though.

The best BTLA on a croissant ever!!! Get it, and you can thank me later. Buttery croissant, extra crispy bacon(idk how they do it), and fresh tomato, lettuce and avocado. WOW! Here I’m writing the review, while eating a BTLA, and still a little sad inside — because it’s not from Nazo’s. I’ve searched high and low, trying to find a lunch time BTL+Avocado on a croissant that is spectacular, and still no luck. One of the things I miss about working at DTLA. They do run out of croissant, so get in before the lunch rush!

This place is a family owned neighborhood gem. I first started coming to Nazo’s Bakery in 2004 when I worked downtown LA. I had not been back to Nazo’s since about 2005, but went there today to grab lunch and I remember why I used to come here so often. Their breads are fresh and there service is great. I usually get the Italian Combo Sub with all the toppings. They also have a nice selection of pastries for those with a sweet tooth. I don’t know when I will be back here for lunch, but it was great trying the place 10 years later and having the same helpful people there taking my order and the same great quality in the food that I remembered from before. I recommend this place for lunch.

Why does this place have such a high rating? Do people in downtown not know what a sandwich is supposed to taste like? They offer«Peppered Turkey», which is generally a premium deli meat that has been cured with peppers and spices for a distinct flavor. At Nazo’s Bakery, it’s plain cheap turkey lunchmeat that they sprinkle black pepper on. What a complete joke. The premium price is there though! I’m sorry but this is overpriced highschool cafeteria food at best. If you think this place has«good» sandwiches, you REALLY need to get out more.

I ate half of the egg sandwich for lunch and felt immediately sick after. And that nasty feeling lasted all week. 1 star for that delicious chocolate chip cookie. NEVER again.

I’ve never been to the place but I LOVE their breakfast pastries. Not really«pastries» per se since they’re quite heavy but I’m addicted to their cheese and tomato bread and their sausage and cheese bread. It’s my favorite of the breakfast items that my firm caters in. Thumbs up!
