Best food ever. We come here every Saturday with my family from Canoga park. The owners are best and there food are also one of the best.

New to the neighborhood, and all indecisive, my friends and I set upon Unilocal to find a happy medium. Something fusion. We happened upon Namaste Kitchen and all found something we wanted to try.
My baseline for any restaurant is to try their most commonly ordered item. In other words, I play it safe. In this case, I choose the chicken tikka masala as did one of my friends. The other dish ordered was the lamb saagwala.
Both met and exceeded our expectations as far as taste and flavor. We also ordered some garlic naan; very tasty and made a great utensil for the liquidy rice combo that had come to be in my bowl.
The only reason we chose to give 4 and not 5 stars were due to the warmth of the food upon arrival. It was just that, warm. I don’t expect delivery to be piping hot, but I would expect it to be beyond warm.
All in all, we’ll be return customers. Curious to further explore the menu.

Very good customer service. So friendly and personal! I love the chicken tika salad (both are good but I preferred the evening full-​size version). There butter curry sauce is addictive so be careful!

The soup was nice until I nearly choked on gristle and realized they didn’t follow order directions and put a myriad of meat in. Food delivered came pretty quick. Only downside to the experience was the lost delivery man who kept shouting into his phone and wouldn’t let me finish speaking. This first experience with them was certainly interesting. Overall, not terrible but, I’ll stick to my old standby’s the next time I want good service and good food.

Great food and super nice owners! Very authentic, handmade, delicious homestyle cooking. I had the tandoori chicken and garlic naan and it was wonderful! Don’t forget to order a side of the yogurt sauce too!
Came here while visiting LA for a conference, came in to eat by myself and the owners were so kind and friendly. I enjoyed talking with them about their love of cooking, and also about their home towns. Looking forward to visiting again soon so I can eat here again!

So beyond happy that I chose Namaste Kitchen on EAT 24! Not only was my entire order delicious but the man that made the delivery was so kind. Whenever I want Thai/​Chinese I will always turn to this place. Definitely recommend!

This review is for the terrible service. Been here last night at 8pm were pretty much hungry and badly needed something to eat, 15 minutes of waiting for someone to come up to take our orders and another 15 – 20 minutes of waiting for the food to arrive. What is that? This place gotta need to add more employees, like seriously they move like a turtle. Lack of servers to meets the volume of the costumers.
Let’s not just talk about the food, no questions on the quality and taste.
Free Wi-​Fi is a huge compliment for me.

I was late to work because it took so long to cook however, the food was good. I came back so it is good enough I would like the rice more if it was jasmine rice.

This was the worst delivery in 2 years that i have been working in the gartment district ! I ordered their chicken and shrimp lunch special at 11:30 am and they took an hour to deliver it. Not only that, the food was cold and it tasted so bad that i had to throw the whole thing in the trash! The chicken was bland, the rice was cooked in tap water or dirty water because it had the weirdest taste to it and the shrimp was still frozen on the inside! Maybe i put my order too early and they were not done prepping for the day, but man! Shrimp frozen on the inside is something i never experienced in the 10 years i have been living in LA!

I give this cute little Asian Fusion place 5 stars for the hospitality and the fresh flavors this restaurant has to offer! You have to try the dumplings with the namaste house sauce… The chef makes it fresh everyday… You can’t buy it anywhere! The Shrimp Pad Thai was generous with lots of shrimp! Yes… The namaste house sauce tasted great with the pad Thai too!!!

I think the ppl r lil rude. The food is not too bad used groupon and saved lil but not sure if i could use it again I found a metal on chicken lollipop.

My food just arrived and all very good. The portions are great and love the variety of dishes for when you can’t make up your mind.

This is a new Asian fusion restaurant, opened for about 5 months. The owner, who is from Bhutan near India, is friendly and eager to please.
On an early Saturday evening, the place was empty. After suggestions from the owner, who also served as wait staff, we ordered.
Sweet basil chicken rice — $ 9.99
It comes with 2 chicken lollipops and extra chicken with bell peppers, basil, and white rice. The chicken and peppers were tasty, but it would have been nice to have some extra sauce or flavoring for the abundance of plain white rice.
Vegetarian pad thai — $ 7.99
The noodles were tasty and not doused in that horrible orange sauce that some Thai restaurants add. The tofu was a bit bland, but the dish as a whole was delicious and sizable.
Although, service was very friendly, it did take quite a while to get our order ready. As this is a new restaurant, the owner shared that he does not have adequate staffing to be quick with both restaurant and take-​out orders at this time. I certainly can understand. As business picks up, I’m sure efficiency will improve.
I would be happy to come back and try some different dishes and to support this hard-​working, friendly business owner.

They seriously need to hire few people to help them. Foods are really really good, tastes like home food. But the wait time there is ridiculous! We went on Saturday lunch hour, most of the tables are empty & the dirty plates are still there. We were sitting in the restaurant for more than 15mins (I’m not one of those people who exaggerates everything) and no one was there to sat us, greet us or take orders. Finally after we pretty much memorized the menu by heart, someone came to take order & he looked tired & not interested at all. Then he left with delivery orders (I guess he’s the server, cleaner, dish washer & delivery guy). No wonder he’s tired!
Our orders:
Chicken Lollipop: Freshly made, didn’t taste MSG, flavorful. But I’d take the soy sauce level a bit.
Sweet basil chicken: Lots of fresh chicken, nice flavor of basil (not sweet though), not spicy at all (good for kids), rice wasn’t hard or chewy. Lacked any strong flavor, but I’d rather eat healthy food than MSG filled fast food.
Chicken biryani: Chicken tikka wasn’t as big as shown in the pic, but they gave 4pcs. Large portion & tasty as well. I get filled quick when eating other places, but this food didn’t fill me up that quick. That means fresh food (again!)
I’m a fan of this place now. I’ll be back with my family again. This is a hidden gem & I’m glad that I’ve discovered this place

They took 2 hours and 15 minutes to deliver my order. They don’t pick up the phone until the 100^th ring. After an hour and half passed, i called over and over again until someone finally picked up. Promised my order would come within 15 minutes. Ended up waiting another hour. They said my food has been ready for a while, but they only have 1 driver. So… thanks for the cold dinner and soggy chicken. The food wasn’t good… like at all. I feel very cheated. Look at the crappy portions. Look how not deliciously hot it is. I really wanted a refund and to cancel my order after two hour had passed, but I gave them a chance. I am so mad for not cancelling the order and saving me the major disappointment that is namaste.
Don’t get their rubbery chicken tikka. Don’t get their tasteless and horrifically bland chicken biriyani. Don’t get their cold and congealed butter curry.
This was the absolutely worst delivery experience ever.

Maybe I should have known this place would not be good when the guy at the front said it was a combination of Chinese, Indian, and «Thigh.» (And the owner is Nepali)
Take out took 40 minutes even though the restaurant was empty. I asked for all non-​spicy dishes and took suggestions from the guy at the front; 2 out of 4 of the dishes were very spicy. Our order was messed up, we got something we didn’t order. Portions were small and the vegetable dish was HORRIBLE. I don’t understand the good reviews — maybe just not a take-​out place…

What kind of food is it? Let’s just say it’s good Asian food. The flavors are fused/​muddled in a good way. It dared to cross the line, not in an outlandish way, but in a humble way.
Small mom and pop type place, great alternate to the typical downtown options. Try them out, keep them around. My snapshot:
–Tried dine in and delivery, enjoyed food both times
–Friendly server and owner/​chef
–Won’t try to impress you with their menu descriptions or place settings, but you’ll get some comforting non-​pretentious food that’s satisfying. Let’s just say the party I was with cleaned the plates and ordered more
–Everything we tried was good. Today, we had their spicy seafood soup delivered. I’d definitely do that again.
Pick a few items. You won’t be disappointed

I came to Namaste Kitchen with my parents and sister on Friday night, and an hour before they close. Finding the restaurant was a little bit of a struggle especially since it was pitch black by 7pm. The parking lot was wedged between 2 buildings and was poorly lit, making it even more difficult to really find. The parking situation was the only downside, but since it’s free, I can’t really complain.
When we entered the restaurant, we were really the only ones there. So, we had individualized attention from their one waiter and the Chef/​Owner. It was great.
The dining space could hold a great amount of people and I do really like their chairs and tables. It’s something you don’t see in every restaurant.
What we ordered:
Satay & Nasi Goreng: I honestly love the peanut sauce. I’ve had my fair share of different kinds of peanut sauce, and this is by far my second favorite-​besides my grandmother’s. The nasi goreng was a little bit spicy from the pepper flakes but I still think it had good flavor in it.
Chicken Tikka with Butter Curry Sauce: I was only able to taste test a little bit of it since it was not my meal, but I do like the curry. It’s up to par.
Namaste Fried Rice (Chicken): The fried rice was pretty great for its price and according to my mom, it was pretty filling.
Lamb Curry: I’ve also had my fair share of lamb curry, and I’ve acquired a great liking to this curry. I’d be great if I can substitute it with naan though. I’m not a big fan of spicy curry, and this was perfect for me. So, if you like spicy, make sure to let the waiter or owner know!
TL;DR
Pros:
–Food was priced fairly for its portions and tasted amazing
–Owner and Waiter are friendly people (Great customer service)
–They deliver
–The variety of food in the menu (definitely a unique fusion)
Cons:
–Parking unfavorable at night

What a strange place. Namaste Kitchen seems to be Indonesian, though it has a fair amount of Chinese and Indian influences on the menu. The interior appears to have formerly been a Mexican restaurant, with heavy wood chairs.
We had the vegetarian chow mein ($ 6) and the Indo chili paste tofu ($ 8). Unfortunately Namaste doesn’t have brown rice.
The chow mein was standard and not all that different from what you’d get at a regular Chinese restaurant. The Indo chili paste tofu wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great; it’s spicy, but it felt like it was missing something in terms of spices. Cumin maybe? I’m not sure.
The service was friendly and the portion sizes are pretty big. When we went, it wasn’t the most well-​kept environment, with tables needing to be cleared and the bathroom door not working properly.
In this part of downtown, there aren’t many vegan options to be had other than Shojin. Namaste adds some variety, which is nice, but it won’t blow you away.
