I was in need of some korean comfort food. My grandma used to make the omelet rice all the time and since I was in ktown I decided to go search for it. I bookmarked this place a long while back specifically for this, so off I went. The restaurants was clean and bright. The ladies who work here were very nice. They brought me water right away and took my order as soon as I was ready. The food was quite authentic. The sides were very good. Especially the radish kimchee. The omelets rice was exactly as I remembered it as a child. I was extremely satisfied with my meal. A little overload on the ketchup, but I do love ketchup. There was so much food I took quite a bit of it home and of course I asked for an extra side of kimchee to take home which they gladly packed for me. I would love to come back and try something else in the future!

The great thing about this place is its open 24 hrs! Great for late nights dinner when everywhere is closed. and they except credit card! The prices on some dishes seemed like they increased a lot within a time frame of 6 months. What blew my mind was the jap chae, vermicelli nodles. $ 15 and there is barely any meat or vegetable in it. The bibim naeung Myun is good. Spicy but not off the grid that I can’t even eat it. Friendly service. Complimentary tea and banchans. Parking lot is small and get fill up fast especially at night.

I think they reuse customer’s old rice for kimbap… my kimbap had kimchi stains on it… will not be returning.

We drive from Riverside just to eat here. The food is awesome and very fresh. Plenty of great side dishes and they keep refills coming. It’s a most enjoyable experience.

The selection has a good range of comfort foods and standard Korean dishes. The service can be quite slow if it’s anywhere above 60% occupied but they are friendly and accommodating. I’ve only tried the omerice and cod roe stew — they were both decent given the reasonable price.

This is the sister restaurant of next door’s Hodori, which is easy to confuse. They’re hard to tell apart by memory, they’re both 24 hour open Korean restaurants, have the menus on the wall, brightly lit, and run by mature Korean ladies. They’re next door to each other and share the same parking lot in the same shopping area. But what I like about Nak Won is they have really good kim chi fried rice and also soon tofu. There’s better soon tofu places, of course, with more variety but going here if the others in your party don’t feel like it you’re not restricted to that. Also the price is really affordable and service is always nice. There’s 40+ things on the menu, ranging from $ 9.99 entrees and above, and so far I haven’t had a bad meal yet. Plus it’s 24 hours, so that in itself, for a consistent, reliable food place that isn’t too expensive, I’d definitely recommend.

Nak won is much better than Hodori. Nak won’s foods are clean and taste good. And even cheaper. Spicy pork was slightly greasy, but the best in LA. Dduckguk(rice cake soup) was great.

The food here is absolutely amazing! I ordered the spicy fried squid. The staff was on the friendly side. I would give them 5 stars, but they are serious racists. I ama korean, so I was treated nicely, but when this Hispanic family walked in, she was not so nice. In summary, if ur Korean, come here. If ur not, still do.

Nak won is the place to be for those late night cravings. Love that this place is open ALLTHETIME. ok, sure, their staff aren’t the friendliest. but you could always get it delivered via your favorite delivery app. Mine is Rushorder. theres a HUNGRY3 promo code good for $ 3 off your order. They delivered the banchan to me too last time with my dumpling and rice cake soup. Win win!

Nak Won is right next to Hodori. Unlike Hodori, they have pics of food above counter. No price though but the names are written in Korean and English. I came in early at 7:15 am. I was not even acknowledged. Service was ok. The waitress was not friendly and expended the minimum required effort. Their Duk Mandu Guk(dumplings in beef broth with rice cakes) is around $ 10. The broth is yummy; good amount of shredded meat though a lil salty. It was served really hot! Had lots of scallion slices which I like. While the duk(rice cakes) were nice and chewy, the 2 mystery meat dumplings tasted like they came from a frozen bag. They have many breakfast specials for $ 5.99! I was pleased with my sides. The cubed kimchee was great, the cabbage kimchee was blech –barely fermented. The bean sprouts were bland, needed seasoning, sesame seed oil or vinegar. The opaque grayish gelatin cubes I don’t eat but it’s pretty popular. If you want better service, I recommend Hodori. It’s in a strip mall. Parking is difficult during peak hours.

Koreatown is filled with these«Boonshik»(Korean snack-type food) restaurants but I think Nak Won is pretty decent for their portions and price. This restaurant has been around FOREVER so I end up choosing restaurants that are slightly closer to me for dine-in or takeout since they’re located in one of the more trafficky(I know that’s not a word :/) area of Ktown and I hate driving down Vermont. Fortunately I saw that RushOrder app delivers Nak Won so I don’t ever have to drive down that street when I’m craving Gimbap and Ddukbokki! Woohoo! I think you can get a couple bucks off too if you use code HUNGRY3. =)

Wow. I’m shocked. The minute I walked in, there was this ONE female waitress who had the worst attitude getting angry with customers who changed their orders. I decided to order something and realized it was way more pricey than I thought so I said OH never mind sorry and she got super mad and yelled into the kitchen«THEYSAIDITSTOOEXPENSIVEFORTHEM, CANCEL» Right after she gave us attitude and poor customer service over something ASSMALLASCHANGINGANORDER(and I changed my mind on the spot when I heard the price before I paid) I walked out. Wow. I know their food is good but with that kind of customer service, I don’t care if you’re a five star restaurant, I will not dine in with yall. Everyone was kind and professional, just that ONE employee with the temper needs to go. She had her hair tied and seemed younger than the other workers. UPDATE: The waitress who was rude to me saw this post and messaged me apologizing. She also tried to make up for it which was pretty nice of her. However I will not delete or change my review because it is truly what I experienced at this restaurant.

Awesome place for a late night bite! When I come, it’s usually pretty empty so service is super prompt and the food comes out really quickly. Not to mention all the ladies who work here are so so nice! I’ve tried the Dukk-bok-gi and the Bi-bim-bap, and both were decent. I don’t come here for the highest quality food, but more for the convenience and late hours, so I don’t really mind that I’m not getting top-notch food. But that being said, the stuff here really is not bad at all! Definitely recommend!

Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a late night snack, meals at Nakwon always pull through. The Kimchi-bokum-bop is my go to, but the gal-bee-tang is a close second. Good food all around, the sides are great, and the service is on point.

We drove by Nak Won House and decided to try it without doing any research on Unilocal.I guess that was where we went wrong. PARKING Moderate size parking lot with several parking spots available. INTERIOR/EXTERIOR The exterior looked decent. Their restaurant sign was cute and there was a large menu up front with a variety of delicious looking foods. Stepping in, the establishment was more spacious than it looked from the outside. We were directed to a table on the left side by the wall. My seat was right next to the wall, and the first thing I noticed was the dirty wall riddled with dust. MENU The server brought us what I assume was iced tea. But after first sip, I believe it was some barley water. It tasted like thin jello. We ordered two dishes first — seafood tofu hot pot with rice and the kimchi fried rice. They ran out of kimbap. Before we decided on the third item, our food already came! Quick service, but mediocre food at best. The tofu soup had tofu, two tiny pieces of shrimp, and one clam. It was lacking in flavor — like spicy red water. The kimchi fried rice came with a small side of salad. You can’t go wrong with salad, but the meat in the fried rice was hard and dry. By then, we decided to skip the ddukbokki with ramen. The side dishes didn’t look fresh either. SERVICE Not impressive. Our server did her job, but she was not happy about it. Before we had a chance to look at the menu, she was ready to take our order. We had some questions and she answered them unhappily. We just didn’t feel welcomed at all. A lot about this place didn’t work for me. But they are open 24⁄7 which may be convenient for those who are looking for a late night munch.

I’ve been unhappy with Hodori lately because whenever I go later at night they always deny me jjolmyun!!! I don’t understand why this is since they used to serve it no problem. So, to remedy the situation, I tried Nak Won House one night since it’s right next door and I wanted to teach Hodori a lesson. It’s seriously the same as Hodori. The set up, the menu, everything. EXCEPT – THEYSERVEDMEJJOLMYUN!!! The ladies are super sweet and friendly but they definitely seem desperate to get customers bc it’s pretty empty in there. I wish I could say I liked the jjolmyun as much as hodori’s, but I can’t. It wasn’t bad, it was just different than what I’m used to. FOOD: 3 SERVICE: 4 AMBIANCE: 3

We came in at 1:00 am. There were a couple other tables and no one sat us, so we took our pick of a table. One thing I really like about this place is that they give a variety of side dishes(banchan). They leave a jug of water for you there too which is convenient. I ordered a(ddeukguk). It was your average bowl, but still delicious. The prices are generally cheap & the service is really fast. I was surprised that our waitress was so kind, even though it’s so late & she probably has a shift all night. Her name was Erica. I will most definitely be stopping by when I need a fix of fast Korean goodness!

Nak won house or Hodori? I guess this is always going to be a dilemma. It’s pretty easy for me to pick depending on what I want though. See, Nak Won serves Al Chigae(pollack roe soup) which is not on Hodori’s menu and I, am a huge fan of Al Chigae. That being said, I come here when I crave Al Chigae and, it’s too late to go to Chunju Han Il Kwan. Their Al Chigae isn’t necessarily the best out there — soup’s a bit on the runnier side and it’s not as flavorful as I would like it to be but, it’s definitely good enough to be on my list of go-to spots when it’s late at night. It’s better to request for less veggies since they seem to put more roe in your soup. The banchan that they serve is good as well but I favor Hodori’s kimchi over Nak Won’s. :)
