Lol no longer dominated by fob nation &EDM. Conquered by hype beasts, hip hop, and ratchets. I’d take that over fobs any day.

I had so much fun here. I don’t know if they always play hip hop all night, but the night I went they did. Most of the music were from back in the day, but it was nostalgic.. Music is crap nowadays. If you know a promoter that would be best in getting in the club. It’s fairly small and the dance floor is the first thing you see when you walk inside the venue. FYI smoking is allowed inside for those who don’t like cigarette smell.

This review is for Secret Sundayz at MYSTUDIO. I went here yesterday with a group of about 15 for a birthday. First off, they hold the line FOREVER. I was two seconds from leaving and we got there at 10:30!!! Did not get in til 11:20. This place is expensive to get in. It was $ 20 for Women and $ 30 for Men. I would never come here if it wasnt for my friend. Once I handed my ID to the bouncer he said something rude to me so I snatched my ID from him and continued. The bouncers here suck too because they just walk around bumping into people and touching the stripers booty. Next, the strippers were ehhh some did fancy tricks and others were just there not doing anything. The drinks were very expensive. Seriously, if it wasnt for the money they threw in the air I would have left real early but at least I made my money back plus profit. I also saw Rhianna there smoking weed so she clearly as ratchet as that club. The announcer guy needs to get a life. He got so emotional because these guys were throwing money at the crowd and not at the strippers. Oh well, that was a first and never again will I go to this club. If you ratchet, this is your place, but not for me.

Me and my girl decide to hit up Hollywood. Mind you, I haven’t been clubbing in like… a yur. Yes yur(year.) Soo I was super geeked! I’ve lived in LA for 2 yrs and ain’t seen NO celebs. Mario from Extra doesn’t count. So, we hti up MyStudio first. We got there around 11pm. It was ok. Very nice and upscale inside. I was looking for the guys of color mind you and there were hardly any. :( So some good songs were playing, did my lil’ 2-step, then we’re like, ‘I hope this gets better.’ We leave and walk to the line of Première and try to look inside. ‘Gurl! They playin my song!’, but we left and went back to MyStudio. Mind you, we were gone for 15 mins and when we got back! Man! It was like, PACKED. Yeaaah! That’s my kinda club! We danced and the dance floor is SMALL! Overall, it’s OK. Drinks are good, crowd is aight. I’d go back, with my girlz! ;)

I almost thought about giving this 3 stars but then I remembered some… no a lot of the things that made me want to not come here again. no complaint about the music, never have a problem with drink prices as i am a seasoned party goer and usually go to a cantina or bars first before clubs that pour free hand at a terrible weak measure for the cost of everything in your wallet. bathrooms are pretty decent. when the place isn’t full to capacity which it usually is by midnight the interior décor is actually nice. once filled up you will inhale a thick dirty air(from the next area which smoking is allowed and infiltrates its way to the dance floor) also there is very little elbow room if any on the dance floor not to mention if ur unfortunate enough to be to close to the door or the«pathway» you will be bumped, tripped over, pushed into by incoming and outgoing traffic plus people attempting to dance in there itty bitty personal space. Not a fan of the door men or security they seem like they checked out once they clocked in for work. the crowd is interesting if that’s even the best word to describe regulars, foreigners, creepers, ghetto ppl, and people just making a stop along their soon to be epic night. all in all i don’t think I’d ever come back, not my cup of vodka tonic. ^_^

This place is the F-in bomb! Either I’ve been out of the scene too long or things have changed for the better. Have you ever had sex w/someone you barely knew, only to wake up the next morning realizing you may have feelings for that person, and regretting you treated her like a 20th-century rag doll the night before? That’s exactly how I would describe my first brush w/this club. I was invited here by some hardcore baller friends, basically guaranteed free entry and had no expectations whatsoever. Arrived early and it was dead. Nice swanky interior, but was wondering where the crowd was. Even a friend of mine came and left early b/c it was too tame for a Sat night, and I was about to give up after a few drinks when… Bam! I turn around and a crowd of maybe 8 – 9 mostly Asian, scratch that, mostly mainland Chinese gold diggers came through the front gates, each one dressed to the 9’s. Simply looking them made you poorer. Wisely, I resisted buying them drinks, and when I looked around, another group of maybe 6 – 7 gorgeous lookers came in. These bouncers have no shame w/their crowd control. Holy 5hit, the ratio was like 6 girls/guy by the time things got hot and heavy. Most of the girls were just standing around wondering or expecting the usual sausage-fest, but tonight it was going to be different. Seriously, having women come up in droves to crowd that tiny space around you because you’re one of the few rare guys dancing is a great feeling. I felt like an alpha male. priceless. lol. Disclaimer: Half the guys reading this review will thank me after they get laid, and the other half will be pist cuz they now have to contend w/more competition than before. Don’t blame me, dip5hit, blame your face.

Randomly found ourselves here one night. Definitely an Asian club, but it wasn’t all that big so it made it more acceptable. I don’t know why that makes sense. Anyways, if you have a good sized group, I would recommend shooting for a table just because there just isn’t a whole lot of space inside. We picked up a table for 10 people for $ 350, not sure if that’s high for here or not. I was not in the loop about the details. Cover is normally $ 20 I believe. Music wasn’t great, but still passable by my standards. No go go dancers with furry boots. Did I have fun? Yes. Did I make a scene? A little bit. Would I come here again? Tough call.

I was skeptical when the bottles arrived with the cap opened. I immediately opened it and smelled the alcohol to see if it was authentic. We got one Ciroc Berry and one Ciroc. I smelled the Ciroc Berry and it smelled like the original. I didn’t smell the Ciroc because I hadn’t planned on drinking it. I should have though. They were new bottles and a pour spout wasn’t put on. Towards the end of the night, Ciroc Berry was done, so we started drinking the Ciroc. I swear, they put in cheaper vodka because my hangover was killer. But I’m sure they don’t care because they plan on closing soon anyways. The worse part of the night was when I lost my ring. My white and black diamond ring I’ve had for over 10 years. I looked everywhere with my flashlight on my phone and couldn’t find it. Brian was a dick and wasn’t helpful at all. Apparently they«can’t» find it. Of course someone found it and pocketed it. Unethical in ALL aspects.

Why is it that every time I take a hiatus from Unilocal,I’m compelled to come back because of my awful club experiences? So, every once in a while, I’ll make a trip down to Southern California and make it a point to try something new. I’ll admit that it was my fault for going to such a touristy area on my last night in LA. Walking down Hollywood Blvd looking for a nice place to go dancing, I stumble upon a very died looking club, My Studio. I and one other person, walk past as we figured we could find a different place. We, mistakenly decide go in after a few minutes of debating. Keep in mind it was a little past 11PM.(Probably 11:15PM) The bouncer directs us to a line where we’re stopped by a typical looking SoCal girl. Long straight hair, skinny, and loads of makeup. She rudely asks if we were on the«guestlist.» I tell her we weren’t. She then says, «The cover is $ 20.» I look at her dead in the eye, thinking that was pretty expensive considering it was effin dead outside, but eager to get some alcohol in me, I comply. Scene: Dead. Drink: 15 bucks and only slightly stronger than juice. Music: Awesome. Thinking it wasn’t too bad since I was feeling the music… 11:30PM rolls around and what happens. Everyone starts to get kicked out. What the fuck. I look at my phone in disbelief. The place was supposed to close at 2am. Without any warning from the bouncer or the skinny bitch outside(I’m 105lbs so I can say such things), I was livid. 15 minutes for $ 20 bucks. With no girl insight, I spot the bouncer who knowingly let us in. I glare and shake my head while he smiles a little and says«What?» Me: It’s a cold world, isn’t it?(Real cold world) Bouncer: It’s not my fault(referring to the $ 20 jip joint) I let the guy know it was my last night here and that I would be going back to a «warmer» place: Northern California, where even the most touristy spots won’t screw you over. Off I went… back to the bay. to the calm and simple, beautiful ways… [B O T T O M L I N E] So, if you’re a little tourist walking down the starts of LA and looking for a good spot to party, stay clear of this place. You’ll save yourself $ 20 and 15 minutes of your life. What a jip joint…

Came out of my mommy mode, just to mode this place. To be fair, I’ve never been here before. HOWEVER, my sister just got hardcore jacked by this place and I felt the need to warn others. So… WARNING, this place will PISSALL over you like R. Kelly pisses on MINORS. Sister went here with her friend to hang out on her last night in LA. Place states they close at 2 A.M. She got there at 11:30PM. Tallish Brunette, perhaps 5’6″ without heals, tells her the cover is $ 20 each. BAM, my sister’s out $ 40. She goes inside, place is dead. Not like Tea Convention in Portland, Oregon dead. More like graveyard at 3:00AM dead. No souls there, it’s freaking dead. 20 minutes later, bouncer(that was standing next to the tallish brunette who rips people off) tells everyone to leave. It’s apparently closing time. Hmmmm, so much to say but so little time. Bottom Line: Don’t go here unless you like it in the bum. This place will jack you harder than the Republicans jack the poor.

Graduation weekend was a weekend brimming with celebrations, so what better way to celebrate it other than engaging in obnoxious, drunken debauchery? Just kidding, I’m not an obnoxious, drunken. uhh, debaucherer(that’s not even a word). But nevertheless, it was a weekend to be celebrated. For a change of scenery, instead of going to the capital of Asian clubbing, Belasco, some of my friends and I decided to try out Mystudio since we had never been there before. After a bad experience at Myhouse, we were a bit reluctant, but since it was a UC Grad Party and UC students got in for free with an ID, it couldn’t hurt. Luckily, my experience was better than I expected. Good vibes, good music and good people, it was a night well spent. However, I wished the club was larger, since it seemed like there were only two rooms. There is one room with a medium-sized dance floor that got packed pretty quickly after 11:30PM and another room where the tables and bar is located. And the girl’s bathroom was incredibly tiny with only 3 – 4 stalls. I can only imagine what happens after 12AM when everyone and their bladders have had their fill of alcohol and everyone is piss drunk and need to drunkenly piss. Eww. My biggest gripe(which seems to be everyone’s biggest gripe) is how expensive the drinks are. After partying in LA for a while now, I understand that drinks in LA will be inevitably expensive, but come on, $ 30 for 2 drinks? That’s Vegas status, bro! Regardless of that, people were overall pretty nice, and there wasn’t as much craziness, considering the party go-ers there were quite friendly. I think it’s because Mystudio is pretty small and intimate and it seems like a lot of people who go are regulars.

«I want I wanna rock right now I want I wanna rock right now I want I wanna rock right nooowww» 10 twenty– something ladies? Check! Short tight dresses? Check! Stiletto heels? Check! Hair did and make up did? Check! Bottle service? Check! Saturday night was Girls Night Out with my friends in My Studio which is located right next to Loteria Grill and where the old Mood use to be. Since we had bottle service($ 150-special deal for us girls for Belvedere Vodka), we didn’t have to wait in line for very long and was escorted to our sweet table kind of private but close to the dance floor where all the action happened. Yes. the action ;) All the ladies had a great time there, I mean, what is there not to like about GNO?! HOt girls with alcohol, good music, and no drama… can’t ask for a better scenario then that! Ambience– The first thing that we noticed in the club was the glitz and glam interior design of the club. There were chandeliers, interesting looking sparking designs on the columns, and nice lush couches and benches. It definitely made the club feel more upscale and nice, which is a step up from what it was before(Mood). Tables are all around the club. There is one room where the dance floor is and then there is another side of the room where the bar is at and tables are surrounded around the bar which was less noisy and crowded. Service– Bottle service was good, the cocktail waitress served all the ladies and our juices were all restocked immediately. Crowd– Uh. Asian Galore. Saturday nights are promoted by Go Pro so it will definitely be ASIAN night, FYI. Interesting crowd. from early twentys to mid-thirtys. Music– Standard hip hop and top 40 music and some trance/dance mix. Overall good experience. Can’t say the same if lets say we didn’t have bottle service and that we had to stand in line a little longer. But the club itself is definitely nice and has that glamorous HOllywood feel you are looking for when you go to the clubs in LA. «I wanna dance, I wanna dance in the light I wanna rock, I wanna rock yo body, I wanna go, I wanna go for a ride, Up in the music & rock yo body right» *MAN… that song is still stuck in my head! *

I had no idea there was a club next to Geisha House. There’s always a line and they won’t let anyone in for awhile, to make it seem like it’s more poppin. Décor: Very modern and chic. The interior of the club is very eye-pleasing, but the overall layout blows. The dance floor is pretty small and it’s nearly impossible to navigate through the crowd. What makes it even worse is that the dance floor is directly at the entrance/exit of the club. Trying to enter/leave was quite difficult. Bar: I only noticed one bar area, but surprisingly, I didn’t have to wait an hour like at other clubs to order drinks. The bartenders knew what they were doing. The drinks were on the stronger side, but you definitely have to pay for it. Music: A lot of hip hop in the beginning but started transitioning into pure House as the night progressed. Crowd: Mixed crowd. Lot of Asians that night, but most of them were there for two people’s birthdays Dress code: Dress to impress. Don’t think you can get away with getting in with sneakers

I give this location MYSTUDIO3stars. It’s FANCY it’s CLASSY it’s a nice location but I think a little too dark and a little to small. And NOOUTSIDESMOKINGAREA And PRICERANGE I would say goes from Inexpensive to Ultra High-End depends on how much you spend. So I give it a MODERATE. I won’t judge about the crowd or the DJ or the barkeeper or the hostesses, because these things change with time so it’s not a reliable fact for a location. BUT I WILLTALKABOUTWHAT’S GOINGONCURRENTLY. It’s pretty packed and the DJ’s play good Electro, Hip Hop, and House music. Bottle service is only $ 100 which comes usually with juices and water and sometimes champagne depends on how many bottles you book. People get in for FREE on VIP and GUESTLIST. Hit me up if you want to get new clubbing experiences. Tim(Club promoter)

I am really over the clubbing scene after partying it up in Asia, but My Studio was almost like traveling back to Shanghai. If any of you Unilocalers have ever clubbed in SH, it reminded me of True Love & Phebe’s all in one. Super crowded, small dance floor, but big enough table/booths. So, like I said, I don’t really enjoy clubbing anymore, but I had a lot of fun(and I was DD too)! But that’s probably because of the company. I also really like dancing on «stages» since they’re like away from the hoards of other sweaty people. There aren’t really any stages at My Studio, but on the lower level by the dance floor, there are … «shelf» areas behind the table/booths. My gal pals and I climbed up there and danced while creepy guys were like. YEEEEEUHHH~~ hahaha ugh My Studio’s marketing ploy is that it’s a club that feels like a photo studio… Hmm… Ok, there were a lot of photographers, and(if you know memes), I’ll take that b*tch’s picture. B*tches loves getting their pictures taken. ANDITSSOTRUE. The Republic Hollywood is pretty prompt in uploading the pics as well, which is nice. HOWEVER, beware because if you’re sloppy, and the camera catches you… who knows what the rest of the world will see? I saw some pictures that made me ROFLMAO because I would’ve been so embarrassed if that had been me LOL that girl. what a slore HAHA P. S. I guess girls get in free all the time? despite arriving after 11. SCORE! P. P. S. Guys have to pay $ 30 even if they’re on the guestlist but they’re late, which totally sucks.

Very cool décor, and classy vibe. The layout is a little strange; upon walking in, you have to push through the dance floor(a small one) to get to the bar or to anywhere else. I did like the back room/back bar that you could hang out in. We had 7 girls and a promoter got us to the front of the line, no cover. I had a good time here, but I’m not sure I would pay Hollywood club prices to go to this place. Maybe they were eager to let us in free because it was a total sausage fest, and all of a certain type(Caucasian, frat-boy-ish, cheesy lines, taking advantage of drunk girls who go for said lines) who all seemed to be on the prowl. The crowd was a little disappointing. This place seems like it was probably beautiful(both atmosphere and people) when it first opened. Aside from the large number of creepers, I had a good time here with my friends and I enjoyed the dance music(not very original/interesting tunes, but fun Power 106 stuff to dance to and sing to after a few drinks).

Love the décor! Feels like you are in a old school studio, I like how they have a back room/bar with tables and chairs. Nice change to be away from the dance floor. Came around 12 and there wasn’t much of a line, my friend’s friend is a promoter so we didn’t have to pay which was nice. The music is decent, some old and new. The drink prices were about average: $ 10 – 12 or so, however, it was very easy to get a drink. The crowd was okay, definitely more guys then anything. Some nice guys invited us to their table, danced around. I was driving so I didn’t drink but they were cool guys. Some girls were a bit rude when we accidently bumped into them on the dance floor, which leads to another bit of an issue the dance floor is small! I just don’t understand where club designers go wrong every time! Is it because they want to make the place seemed more filled then it ends up being? Not a bad place but not my favorite.

Okay came back for more on Thursday night. It’s a whole different animal than Friday night baby. We had to wait outside like plebeians. Sniffle* And once we got in, it was pretty empty. The lady handing out paper towels in the bathroom was not even doing that, but she did sing to herself a lot and flit from stall to stall. She’s a free spirit! The girls this time around were much much hotter. I’m not easily impressed by appearance but a good 90% of the girls in the club were at least an 8. Dressed up, slim, long hair, pretty. Don’t know how smart they are but definitely good looking. Lin approved! The guys, on the other hand, were less remarkable appearance wise. But hey! Apparently, they are ballers! One dude stopped me while I was passing by his table and offered me $ 100 to tell his friend happy birthday. I was like, really? And he whips out a benjamin and at that point, I quickly calculated the number of cabeza burritos I can buy with that(21!!!), a whole month’s worth! Very happy Cheshire cat grin. I talked to his friends. Not bad looking. Drank champagne, drank some other thing. They were nice and all pretty intelligent. I was tipsy and looking at all the sparkly lights each time a new bottle came around. Mmmmm burrito!

If you love Jersey Shore, you’ll love My Studio! I didn’t see any Snookies, but there were a whole lot of Situations running around. We arrived later in the evening(meaning morning) at drunk o’clock so maybe everyone was just sloppy because they had been at it all night and I’m not exactly giving a fair description of the crowd, but it is what it was, right? We were just looking to close the night out with a few fist pumps and the DJ brought it home with some mash ups that helped us burn off a little steam and cocktails(read:calories). I’m not exactly sure its Hollywood address is its permanent home(as I walked by it when it first opened on Sunset), but it sure was convenient, so I’m not complaining. All in all, I think my clubbing days are over(tear), but it was a good reminder that I’ve still got it — the moves, that is.
