So.. . The«fried rice» is white rice tossed with egg and pepper — when I think Chinese fried rice, I’m thinking peas, carrots, soy sauce, flavor.. . I don’t know, just me I guess. And there aren’t any vegetable dishes. Everything has meat. I guess all the 3&4 stars ratings that are here on Unilocal are for the donuts which I didn’t have. Two stars for being there. But I’m giving one extra star because the man was very nice.

Every time I’m tasked with bringing in celebratory donuts to the office, I always go to Mom’s…I used to bring in donuts from other places, but the team unanimously decided that their favorite is Mom’s. When the pink box is seen, the team starts to follow me around until the box is put down and then they descend like vultures. Seriously though, their donuts are beyond legit, so is their coffee. The people that own the places are the sweetest people ever too, their the type of small business that you want to support.

T he nicest folks own this place. It’s just a joint but they always greet you with a smile. The donuts and croissants are always good. The Chinese food can get a little tired but he will always make something fresh for you. Last night, I just wanted some veggies and rice and he cooked it fresh for me, just the way I like it. No décor, come on, it’s a joint not Bev Hills! LOL

I come in here to get morning donuts a couple of times a week. The donuts are always tasty and the people are so nice. For me, nothing matters more than politeness, so this place easily got 5 Stars.

I found myself walking home along this route after a dubious situation and stopped in for an early morning donut. The jelly filled was good but they don’t have a lot of selection. No ham and cheese croissants, only cream cheese and regular.

THE. BEST. DONUTS. period. And I’ve eaten a lot of donuts in my day. The dough is incredibly light and fluffy and deeeelish. A true hidden gem.

Not the worst Donut shop in LA. I’ve been coming here since I forever and it’s exactly what you expect it to be: A Chinese Food and Donut shop. Décor is outdated, the food doesn’t seem fresh, and a ground up restoration looks like it needs to be in order on ever aspect of the place. If you need a donut nearby, this is a last resort.

Best donuts EVER! I don’t know what the other reviewers are thinking. The donuts are always fresh, and the oil they’re fried in is always fresh, too. You can tell! There is always a nice selection, including fresh croissants! My only regret is that they don’t make jelly donuts. Open early and it’s right near the Silver Lake on-ramp to the 101 Freeway, so it’s handy to stop for«coffee and…» on the way to work. I can’t comment on the chinese food, but I’ll be trying it soon.

My coworker had brought donuts for breakfast, along with raisin oatmeal cookies. The doughnut was alright — had the long, maple donut — not too sweet, and not over fried… though the other doughnuts he had brought in didn’t look that good… but at least my doughnut was the right amount of sugar, yay! However, he had brought in the raisin oatmeal cookies and they were awesome! It wasn’t hard or heavy… it was soft, chewy and a bit a flaky, but rather than«hard enough to throw through the window and actually break it,» type of cookie.

They have better doughnuts than a grocery store would serve, but that’s the bare minimum that I expect from anyplace that isn’t a grocery store, which is the type of establishment known for ruining doughnuts. The fried doughnuts are really good, everything else is bland. I’d go here more but honestly the guy that I have to assume owns the joint always comes to the counter looking like he’s been working in the garage painting lawn furniture because he’s so filthy. It’s a little worrisome but I haven’t gotten sick yet, that I know of.

some things were destined to be together… like peppermint and chocolate, french fries dipped in ranch dressing, or carrot sticks and buffalo wings. and some pairings should have never been conceived… like rihanna and chris brown, fat butts in skinny jeans, and donuts with chinese food… seriously. donuts and chinese food?! what were you thinking?! i don’t know why i came here. oh actually, i do. i was desperate for coffee and made a stop here en route to work. i assumed that if you sell donuts, then you probably sell some form of coffee as well. so i stopped by this hole in the wall and got myself a cup of joe and a blueberry muffin. and no, i did not get a side of chow mein with it. all the chinese food are housed under heat lamps and looked rather depressed. i would rather go to panda express if i wanted heat lamp cusine at 7 in the morning. the coffee i got was water downed and was contained in the most flimsy styrofoam cup ever. mid driving, the coffee sloshed out of its cup and dripped all over my cup holder. damn you! and because i was desperate, i drank whatever was left over and got some on my clothes as well. smooth. the blueberry muffin tasted fine. sweet and mushy. it did not have a hard muffin top cap. not exactly the best muffin i’ve had in my life, but perhaps the only silver lining that morning with mom’s donut. this establishment is a perfect example of multi-tasking gone bad. focus on either the donuts or the chinese food momma!
