A friend of mine gave me Barry’s # when i was having computer issues and I’m so glade he did. He came same day fixed my issue quickly and didn’t try to up sell me on things i didn’t need. he is honest, reliable, and most important great at what he does. I called him on a Saturday because my girlfriend’s laptop had a virus he fixed by remote from his house when i asked him how much he said no charge. So for starters I am an idiot when it comes to computers. My MacBook Crashed and I tried to have a Mac guy fix it and when he said sorry its gone all you can do is transfer all your pics in safe mode to an external hard drive and we will go from there after transferring all my pics (so I thought) we deleted them from the laptop and were still unable to fix the problem. So when I got home I tried opening my pics from the external hard drive and it was only the folder name no pictures. Could it be true did I just lose all the pictures of my daughters birth ohhhh nooooo!!! I cried for days. Then my dad found this guy and craigs list to come fix his mac, so I joined in praying he could possible recover my deleted photos even though everyone I asked said it was not possible. He took my laptop home with him and said he would do his best which was better than what other options I had. 48 hours later I got a phone call. He did it!!! Gross pictures of a c-​section but the world to me. He recovered every thing that was every deleted from that computer and transferred it all to an external hard drive. Then he replaced the hard drive and installed all new programs for me. I will forever be thankful for his knowledge and kindness. He gave me back what no one else good, my memories. He is honest, reliable, cheap and a phone number I will never forget. Thank you so much Barry for all your help. He also fixed a laptop for my dad that everyone said was corrupt, after resetting the RAM which nobody else had mentioned, the computer works great.

Don’t trust college tech with your computer needs. They will run of with your money, computer parts and will ignore your calls. My wife and I had a run in with Brendan Mcshane from college tech. He came over to replace the hard drive in our macbook. He had told us he can replace our old hard drive and transfer our data over. He came over 2 hours late and after replacing the hard drive told us our old one is toast. He has to take it home to be worked on, we said ok «big mistake». After not hearing from him for about 2 weeks, my wife sent him multiples e-​mails, texts and phone calls, just asking for our hard drive back. No response. It wasn’t until close to 2 months later when I called him with a different phone number he answered. I was pretty upset so he agreed to meet me at a star-​bucks. I went, he was a no show. Tried calling him and of course no answer. I called his college tech partner Barry upset and 20 minutes later Brendan calls me back to tell me that he left the hard drive in a brick barrier in-​front of a Walmart out Long beach (17 miles from my home). I asked him to leave it with costumer service at Walmart, he said no cause he just left. My wife is 7 months pregnant and has lost sleep over this. The hard drive contains our first child, our daughters pictures. From 9 months in mom’s tummy, birth till now 16 months. Believe me you don’t want to deal with these guys.

long and weary is the day when computer problems set in…
i was supposed to prepare my taxes and FSA claims today. instead, i spent the morning trying to figure out what killed my data drive and then trying to find a qualified technician on craigslist. this is not an easy task!
…especially if you don’t know much about computers.
one time i had a young kid show up at my door. he said he «parked» around the corner and i thought he must have been referring to his bicycle. i had to send him away since he seemed to know less than i did.
there are techs who will speak very nicely to you, all the while double-​talking you if they think that you will buy it. going with someone trusted is critical, as there is always opportunity to make things worse!
THE CHASE:

. i liked the stylish photo and snappy verbiage in the ad. i thought the retro preppy/​hipster ensembles showed forethought and creativity. it generally conveyed to me that they cared about their reputation.
as for technical savvy, Barry was both professional and confident, without seeming contrived. he did everything possible to help me out and minimize the damage and really seems to know what he is doing.

overall, i have to say i had a great experience using
. i would say that Barry is very kind, courteous and knowledgeable. he also possesses an excellent bedside manner for when… nothing more can be done.
furthermore, as a woman, i felt completely at ease having him in my home. and no price gouging! frankly, Barry is a very nice person. i can’t forget to mention his partner, Brendan whom i haven’t met.
as annoying as day to day computer freezes may be, i think computers must crash, fail and generally hog-​tie us every so often in order to reassert their value to us. computers seem to know when that marketing presentation final draft is due; i think they mark their calendars for when the tax deadline is just 3 days away. and if you are caught without a backup, their message at crash time will be of peak effectiveness. don’t get caught! but if you do, you know who to call…
