Mexico Lock & Key & Door Repair

There are not enough stars to give these people. I recently bought a used KTM street bike, but the previous owner had lost the key that unlocks the rider seat that is the gateway to the bike’s battery and electrical guts. That seat had to come off. But KTM had discontinued the replacement lockset, so if I had drilled out the barrel cartridge the seat would have been dangerously loose as I rode. So, I started looking for a locksmith who could create a key without the benefit of a master key to copy. Most locksmiths can’t (or won’t) do it. The few quotes I got from the locksmiths who could ranged between $ 100 to $ 150. When I called Mexico Lock & Key, I was told to swing by with the bike, so they could check it out. So, I did and twenty minutes later I was heading back home with two custom-​made keys. But here’s the kicker: the price was about $ 24. I stood there and watched this KeyMaster work his magic and still can’t figure out how he did it. «By feel?» I asked. He just smiled a little and nodded. The guy is a genius. And as an added bonus his family were all very sweet to the stranger who pulled up on his weird, noisy Austrian motorcycle. Their great family cat was hanging out, too.
One last thing: I don’t think the email on their website is current, so just call them. It will be so worth it.

Great little hole in the wall! I walked in and was greeted by two friendly faces and one immediate furry one! The people here are very nice and got me in and out very quickly. I had to make a duplicate key for my sister and for $ 1.37 – the price can’t be beat! They also have a small selection of decorative keys that I might be tempted to get next time.
There is street parking in front but if you can’t find any, there’s strip mall next door that you can easily park in, if you are going to be quick! Bring cash. They accept cards but for any purchase $ 20 or more.

This place is amazing. I needed a duplicate car key and decided to drive out to Arlington. Great service. He walked me to my car to make sure that it worked on the ignition and all doors. Very professional! Happy I came to their place.

I rode my 2K9 Yamama Majesty to work Monday. My keys were accidentally taken from my office during the day, so I had no way to drive the bike home or even move it. I called at least 20 locksmiths and was turned down by all of them — not possible to re-​key a motorcycle key, didn’t have the key to amke it work, had to have the Yahama factory key code, etc. etc.
I thought I was going to have to call the shop and get the bike towed, have the ignition replaced, and then get new keys, which would have run me $ 250-​$ 300 when it was all done. Then I searched for «motorcycle» locksmiths in Hollywood, CA and «Mexico Lock and Key» came up first. I called Monday at 7PM arranged to meet them in the morning and Tuesday moring, they called me to assure me they could find a match for my key and came out and fixed it within the hour!
Oscar and his Pop run the buisness and they rock! And they did it for $ 85!!! I was happy to give them $ 100 for their skills and service and and they even made me a spare key!!!
Amazing work and service not to mention really cool family people.

Got locked out of my house and was totally dumbfounded. Called this place after reading Unilocal reviews and was so pleasantly surprised how quickly service arrived and done! Didn’t even have time to ask the name of the gentleman who helped me! The entire thing from my call to my getting back inside the house took only 10 minutes; wholly different from the last time I was locked out — I was promised 20 mins but ended up waiting 1 hr 40 mins for the service to arrive!!! Thanks so much!!!

Called and spoke to Manuel to make an appointment to have locks changed to my house. They came out the next day and called before they came. I had 8 cylinder combo changes and 5 keys made which cost $ 110.45 including their $ 25 service call. They were professional and fast. Definitely recommend them.

They helped me put a gate lock set together in an emergency. No one has a gate lock set. they are hard to find and have to be ordered.

I’ve never needed to call anyone else for my locksmith needs. Oscar has made many keys for us over the years for different years, makes and models. He has even done 2 sets of keys for 2 of my motorcycles in the past. Great work and great customer service; Highly recommend.

These guys were great. I lost my motorcycle key, they stayed open on a sunday so I could tow my bike to them, and worked on it. Really good work as locksmiths, very impressed with how they crafted a new key for my bike. Only cost $ 35, great service and a great price.

They program and cut car keys and have a lot of knowledge in this area.
I came here because my car keys were destroyed and the key part broke from the remote. I bought a generic key online and brought it in hoping they could duplicate it for me.
He said it would take 30 to duplicate it, but … and this is the part where I tuned out… transponder chip… can’t start ignition… generic key might not work… take to dealer maybe… basically, he didn’t know if the generic key would work.
But he gave me a lot of information so I could make my own decision, didn’t make me any guarantees he couldn’t keep. If he had duplicated and programmed it, it would’ve been around 100 bucks, which is 100 bucks cheaper than the dealer. I ended up taking it to the dealer because I didn’t know if my generic key had a necessary part in it to start the engine.

Mexico Lock & Key is absolutely fantastic! I’ve had them make keys, fix locks, and re-​key doors, all with great results. They’re friendly, efficient, and knowledgable, and I have nothing but great experiences with them. Highly recommended.

This place is great! My husband needed to get a copy of some keys and we happened to drive by here… It was quick, efficient, good for house keys, car keys or any kind of key!

I have always found these people to be prompt (even when it wasn’t an emergency), and extremely professional and reliable. It’s a family-​run business and they really know the lock and key business. Some «locksmiths» are really scam artists who will make copies or do bad work. I have used Mexico Lock and Key for nearly 8 years I have always found them extremely helpful. And they have reasonable prices.

I lost my Key to my 1978 Honda Cb750K Motorcycle. I took the Ignition switch off and found the key code. Mexico Lock & Key made me two perfect keys for an old bike for only $ 30. Copies are much cheaper, but I lost mine before I made a copy.
I called multiple Keymakers who all referred me to others further away. One even said they didn’t have the key but would call me and wanted to know what my cross streets were (scam). Even the Honda Moto Dealership wouldn’t do it for me.
These guys are professional and know there stuff!
