Metro Snacks

Metro Snacks is located on 8^th St along the row of fast dining lunch spots– Subway, Nazo, and the pizza joint. This store is a great little convenient store for grab-​n-​go snacks/​drinks/​pre-​packaged lunches. I always stop by here for candy and bottled tea… things I enjoy having at my desk while I work. They have a great selection of goods that are neatly displayed and organized, and I love that I can find Asian treats here too. They also have bunch of instant food to choose from such as cup ramen, mac’n’cheese, canned soups, and microwave oven food. Prices are slightly more marked up than your typical supermarket, but that’s the price you pay for convenience. It’s a great local store for those who work in the nearby area. I wish they had a hot coffee machine, that would take this place to another level. Oh yea, you can get your lotto tickets and scratchers here as well!

was formerly a little convenience store, the owners/​family that runs Nazo’s Bakery and Pizza Next Door, bought it and totally renovated it. A really nice remodel, love the look of the place. I like the family who runs the 3 businesses, hope this convenience store succeeds. Famima closed down around the corner and would much rather give my dollar or two to a family owned joint, need more businesses around this area, pretty barren for what one would imagine downtown Los Angeles to be. When previous owner closed up shop, it left a void, glad it was filled quickly.
Prices are a tad high on a couple things, and pretty decent on a couple others, exactly what you would expect from a convenience shop. They have a pretty good selection of stuff though, always amazed when looking around at stuff they keep on the shelves (not just Pepsi and Fritos and Wrigleys).
Place is very well kept, clean, stocked.
