History

Established in 2012.

With over 18 years of bodywork experience, Mechelle combines her knowledge of the body with Traditional Chinese Medicine theory to create a customized treatment for each patient. An office visit may include Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Therapeutic Bodywork, Moxibustion, Cupping, and Nutritional Counseling. Her interest in Women’s Health and Conception began many years ago after reading «Spiritual Midwifery» by Ina Mae Gaskins. This inspiration lead her to study prenatal massage and attend birthing support seminars. Later she went on to study Chinese Medicine and is happy to see her two passions evolve together. She is dedicated to helping each patient accomplish their heath goals, while feeling safe and relaxed.

Mechelle Greenspan, CA Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist, received her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine with a specialty in Reproductive Medicine from Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her clinical hours include Yo San Community Clinic, Being Alive HIV Clinic, and advanced studies in China at the China Beijing International Acupuncture Training Center. Mechelle is also a DONA trained Doula.

I have been seeing Mechelle for regular treatments for almost two years and has helped me through pregnancy, post-​partum and now as I am trying to conceive baby number 2! She has treated me for everything from muscle pain to stress and anxiety with great success! Seeing her is part of my regular wellness routine. Mechelle also offers herb recommendations and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to treatment. Plus, her incorporation of cupping and massage makes my regular treatments feel more like «treat!»

I was skeptical about acupuncture’s efficacy, but willing to try it. I chose Mechelle based on her glowing Unilocal reviews and she has lived up to (and exceeded!) my expectations. Over the past three months I have not only achieved positive progress with my health issues, but I have also grown to absolutely savor my hour with Mechelle. It is the most relaxing part of my week. She is knowledgable, careful, compassionate, and thoughtful. Her practice is located inside an adorable bungalow (sort of a wellness co-​op) that is super cute and very clean. A huge variety of teas and infused water is available while you wait in the peaceful waiting room. 100% this is the acupuncturist to see in Los Angeles!

Mechelle is amazing. She makes you feel so comfortable before, during, and after every treatment making sure every detail is to your liking. I have had chronic shoulder/​neck pain almost all my life. While it’s not completely gone yet it is 80% better. I went from having crippling pain that wouldn’t allow me to turn my head about once every two weeks to now just subtle pain every once in awhile. I’m a believer, with time it will get completely resolved with acupuncture and cupping. She has also helped me with my digestive issues using Chinese herbs. Go see her!

True believer! Dr. Greenspan has made me a true believer in the healing science of acupuncture. During my pregnancy and after many trips to my doctor and ENT, acupuncture was the only thing cleared my sinuses, giving me the ability to breathe again. Upon my first visit, I was almost in tears, as acupuncture was my last hope and being a first timer to acupuncture, I wasn’t sure if it would work for me, after all– nothing else had! Within 36 hours of my first appointment, my sinuses cleared. I continued my treatments with Dr. Greenspan and my sinuses stayed clear throughout the rest of my pregnancy with little to no allergy medicine needed after my treatments. I only wish I had found her sooner than my third trimester. Now, my daughter is here and I’m still seeing Dr. Greenspan!

I love acupuncture and herbal medicine, and I’m so grateful to have Mechelle as a practitioner. She is absolutely wonderful! I’ve been seeing her weekly for years (I followed her from being a school intern to her current Silverlake practice) and she’s helped me overcome numerous health issues ranging from digestive to gynecological. In fact, she’s so great that when I can fit it into my schedule I see her twice a week. She’s always very gentle and calm, which helps me relax especially when I’m feeling stressed out. Her treatment room is really lovely too, and there’s always awesome chill music playing which adds to the entire experience. If you’re looking for the best acupuncturist in Silverlake to help get your health back on track Mechelle is definitely the person to go to.

I started coming to Mechelle a little over a year ago. After visiting a handful of doctors who couldn’t seem to pinpoint a solution for some ongoing immunity and adrenal burnout issues, I decided to try the acupuncture route. I am really scared of needles, but Mechelle is incredibly gentle and after a while, I actually started to enjoy it. Prior to having regular treatments from Mechelle, I was getting sick every couple weeks for about 8 months. Since she started working with me, I have gotten sick only one time. To me, this is practically a miracle. I would highly recommend Mechelle for anyone struggling with a chronic physical issue. As stated in one of the reviews below, she truly is a blessing.

Mechelle is a blessing — a very attentive, caring, competent and skilled practitioner. I came to her for several weeks in my third trimester of pregnancy and she helped alleviate much of my pelvic/​hip pain. It was incredible. I suffered with SPD during my first pregnancy; it was beginning to feel just as brutal this time around, but thankfully, I found Mechelle. I recommend her highly! Best of all, she accepts insurance!

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to this time. I recently recovered from having my baby through an unplanned c-​section. I went to Mechelle for treatment, I had the worst pain on my right shoulder, and had lots of other discomforts. She was the miracle I prayed for. I felt rejuvenated, and had more energy to enjoy my baby. I highly recommend Mechelle Greenspan, she is magical. I go consistently and it is worth it!
