This restaurant is the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Not only is the seafood disgusting but service is terrible. They didn’t even add up our bill correctly. They way overcharged for that nasty food. I can’t imagine this place was here that long. They should have left it a Taco Bell like it was when I was a kid.

Sad to see it go but unfortunately this place is now closed. Hopefully it’s just closed for an upgrade!

I tried to like this place. Waitress was nice and patient with us because wanted to try everything. Their cocteles de camarones was good eventhough they dont de-turd the shrimps. Shrimp burrito was awful i had to drown it in salsa. I didnt even bother to finish it. Tostadas were ok. Now the biggest disappointment were the oysters. My wife and i ate one each at the same time. She spit hers out and i swallowed mine like a champ. Big mistake. We examined the one she hocked out. Not fresh, room temperature, and smelled foul. Like a fat ex girlfriend

Located in downtown Highland Park, Mariscos Sinaloa specializes in seafood dishes! I ordered the enchiladas de camaron($ 8) and it was delicious. The green sauce was flavorful and complimented the dish well. The two enchiladas came with rice and beans. There is outdoor and indoor seating here. They have a parking lot in the back with about 10 spots! Plenty of spots available when I arrived. Will be back to try more!

Overall it was very tasty. The tostadas are pretty big and full of stuff. The caldo De camaron was very good with a delicious broth.

If I can give zero I would. The service was ok. She was nice and attentive. But the food was TERRIBLE! First, my bf ordered aguachiles. The left the poop in the shrimp. Wth. That’s just gross. He had to take the«poop vein». I ordered the ceviche de pescado. The fish tasted old. I also had a fish taco. That taco was terrible too. One bite and that was all I could do. I’ll never go back.

Always drive by but never stop in. Today o had 30minutes to kill and was starving so I thought, why not? Just amazing ceviche! Had the shrimp and fish and it was soooo delicious! Just as great as when I had ceviche down South in Puerto Vallarta. You have to stop by if you are a seafood fan :)

This place is ok. The food was good. I ordered 2 shrimp ceviche tostadas. The food is a little over priced in my opinion. The service was really slow which was a surprise since it was so empty on a Saturday afternoon. I can say the waiter was friendly. however I will not be coming again.

I’ve been coming here since I was little, i do not remember the food being awful at all but today the food was very bland. the tostada of ceviche needed more lemon. The shrimp tacos were bland as well. I think the waitress mentioned it was a new cook unfortunately. I don’t think I’ll ever come even tho it’s the closest seafood restaurant in this area.

Been coming here for years and food is great. The service was great too. They came to check to make sure everything was good not once but FOUR times! They have the best ceviche in all Highland Park and I’ve been everywhere. I feel so bad about some of the bad reviews this place has. They don’t deserve them. Some of people reviewing here act like they went fine dining and paid $ 50 per person. I paid $ 18.50 for 2 people, the food was great and service was excellent. For $ 18.50 I got more than my money’s worth!

I would give it 1.5 stars for the entertainment we experienced on our visit. THEAMBIANCE: Located in Highland Park on York Blvd. Once you spot a blue restaurant on a bit of a hill you will know you are there. I parked on the street and then realized they have parking in the back. You walk up stairs and are greeted by a mannequin with a sombrero and random clothing holding a sign. The restaurant has a patio area with blue tables cafeteria style and there are a couple of booths inside along the front wall. You order at the counter through a window. We decided to sit outside to catch what ever little breeze could hit us on this hot afternoon. No one was around; we were the only customers there. THEFOOD: I have to say this is the worst mariscos I have ever had in my life and it was expensive! We ordered two(2) ceviche tostadas — one shrimp, one fish —(2) fish tacos, and two(2) jarritos(soda) and the total came out to $ 17.29 and we were charged a dollar to use a card so it came out to $ 18.29! My fish ceviche tostada came out and the fish looked mildly dark … I tasted it and immediately it had to come out of my mouth. It had that fishy taste that automatically indicates fish is going bad. Disgusting! I tried my boyfriend’s shrimp ceviche and it wasn’t rotting so I ordered one of those instead. The ceviche was still bad. It lacked flavor so badly. The fish tacos were also bad. I think they are worse than the Baja Fresh Fish tacos. The fish tasted like it was frozen. What a waste of seafood. While we were sitting waiting for our food, we heard a big bang and I looked towards the stairs where the noise was coming from. Apparently the mannequin got loose from the stand and started falling down the stairs. She lost an arm on her way down. When even the mannequin wants to escape, you know it’s bad. THETIPS: I would stay clear of this place. Horrible seafood. My usual spot is Via Mar Seafood on Highland Park. I am, however, in search of better ceviche than the one they serve there. I wanted to try Mariscos Jalisco in Boyle Heights but we did not have any cash handy and I read it was cash only. Now I know why we were the only ones there. Never coming back.

I love eating Mojarra Frita on a hot day. Squeeze of lime, rice, salsa, lettuce, all rolled up on a fresh hot corn tortilla. I wasn’t sure what to order that day but when I saw the Mojarra… that was it! The fish was meaty! Chunks and chunks of meat. It was fried well and not greasy. I’m salivating as a type this even though I’m super full! I wanna try the other seafood entrees. Yummy!

Fish taco — excellent 4 stars. Both times I’ve been here, this has been quite good. Shrimp taco — 1 star. yucky flavor of shrimp. Too much breading to shrimp, although with the shrimp not being very tasty this is probably a good thing. Tacos Dorados — 2 stars. Chicken was like chicken nuggets, portion was big, salad was nice. Rice was tasteless and beans were really salty and probably came straight from a can. Quesadilla was standard and salty. Staff was nice. We would have tried the ceviche, but the low volume at this place made us a bit nervous to try that dish. If we are feeling brave, we may try the ceviche one day, but more likely we will go somewhere else.

Came with a few friends on Monday since they wanted to try it out. Prices seem a little high for the Mariscos but the food was good. The lady working the counter put the blame on the«new» cook for messing up an order and tried to pass it off to us as the dish we ordered. Of course we called it out and she seemed out of words when we pointed to the dish in the picture and what was handed to us. We did get a «free» tostada for the mix-up so it’s all good. Lastly they do charge you a $ 1.00 for any credit/debit usage regardless of the cost

I was craving ceviche since I gave up red meat, pork and chicken for lent. I ordered three tostadas of ceviche made of shrimp, fish and jaiva. I am sorry to say that I couldn’t finish any of them, especially after finding what looks like an eye lash in my food. See my picture, I pulled it out of the to go cup where they packed my ceviche in and placed it on the fork to get a better look. Yuk! The ceviche was very bland and the only thing that have it some flavor was the salt and limon I put on the tostadas. I will not be coming back to this place.

This establishment offers authentic sinaloan style mariscos at affordable prices. The environment reminds me of some of the beach-front restaurants I would frequent while traveling along the pacific coastline of Mexico… with loud music, friendly and attentive waitresses, and a nice crowd of patrons. My favorite items to order here are their tostadas de ceviche de pescado(fish ceviche). Their fish is fresh, it is not too overloaded with lime juice, and perfect on a warm afternoon. I was first influenced to try their ceviche after reading LA Times food critic Jonathan Gold recommend this restaurant’s ceviche. Their aguachiles(shrimp cooked lime juice) is probably one of the best in the region. I would say my favorite item to order here is a special plate called botana, which includes: callo de hacha(scallop), ceviche de pescado(fish ceviche), pulpo(octopus), cebolla morada(purple onion), pepino(cucumber), and of course, all of this cooked in lime juice with a special spice added. If you are a fan of seafood cooked in lime juice, this is the quintessential dish to order and all of this for a reasonable price.
