Enjoyed the kare-​kare and kaldereta. Didn’t like the teriyaki chicken.

This fast food place will be reported to the Department of Public Health. They are definitely NOT up to code with food preparations.

We always order our food here for parties and we always get complements. Thanks to Lutong Bahay for these comfort food. The sisig really good. Not too spicy and just right. Kare Kare is a must as well. Kaldereta Yummy! Would come back for more!

Whenever you find yourself craving for a good helping of filipino food, try this place out.
Depending on what day you show up, they will have a variety of different filipino foods on display.
They have all kinds of dishes like:
Eggplant, Sinegang, Nilaga, Adobo, Torta, Longanisa, Fried Tilapia, Chicken & Pork BBQ, Beefsteak, Vegetable Lumpia, & plenty more selections.
My favorite is SEAFOOD MIX (unfortunately, they only have this on the weekends)
Three words of advice: GET. HERE. EARLY.
Or face the wrath of the crowd.
Also, if you like fresh fried tilapia, this is the place, & I suggest you have them add salt as well for extra taste.
They also have a grocery section so if you needed to do some groceries while you wait for your number to be called, & or your waiting for your tilapia to be done being deep fried this is the place.
Also, whenever you’re paying cash, always make sure to always count your change before leaving.
This of course applies to all places we visit.

Haba ng pila 30 – 45 mins bago ka matawag! Dapat siguro improve pa nila yung service nila dagdag ng konting server lalo na weekends! Yun lang po

Ordered this for my baby announcement party… everybody loved the food… I ordered the beef Kaldereta, pork belly, and the mixed veggies… I got compliments left and right… On a regular day, I would order from whatever they have and so far everything is good, no regrets… can’t wait to try their lengua de pastel…

If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. I will never eat here again. I ordered a combo meal, kare kare and lechon kawali. At first it was ok. I am enjoying the filipino food that I really miss. Then I saw something on my kare kare. And I was right! It’s like a maggot or something. I just want to vomit everything that I ate! If I were you, I won’t eat in this place!

I want to start off by saying they really make very good SISIG here and I’ve tried some other dishes and they are all pretty yummy. But goodness, this place is DIRTY! I really try to ignore it when I’m buying my sisig and I try not to breathe too. The stench from the fish department is somewhat nauseating. I can stand the smell of fish but not rotting, something died smell though. But I take it all in because nothing can take me away from a good sisig. Haha

The food is cooked very good for a turo-​turo. The fried shrimp with head and shell on were so crunchy I ate the whole thing, didn’t need to peel.
The BBQ Pork on a stick was really good, even if a bit fatty.
Portions for price are really generous.

I love the food here! It’s a point-​point joint in a Filipino seafood/​grocery store in a mini-​mall, no frills, just really good home-​cooked Filipino food to go. Take it for what it is. I had the binagoongan tonight and it was the best batch ever. There is always a wide selection of food, even snails in coconut milk (not my thing, but the sauce is actually pretty good). Salmon sinigang, bistek, inihaw baboy, sisig, caldereta, fried squid/​shrimp, fish, adobo beef, adobo chicken, etc… All pretty damn good. To me the prices are totally fair for the amount of food they pack into the containers. They literally overstuff the containers then squish the contents down with the lid then tie it up snug in a plastic produce bag. It’s pretty effective for transport. When I get home, I immediately put the food into Pyrex containers, ready for heating and serving whenever. I forgot, they offer a nice discount after 5pm. Basically, if it’s busy and you have the time, it’s worth the wait.

Sure you gotta wait for your number to be called. Don’t forget to get the ticket! Don’t even bother to stroll by to take a glimpse of the food. Just get the number first. The food is great. They got grilled whole milkfish and baked/​grilled salmon too. Not all meat.
Take a note of the number on the wall and do some shopping. They’ve got fresh veggies from Taro to the white radish. to baby bok choy to celery. They also have a full service meat and seafood dept and. they deep fry fish!
So yes. the place is cramped. The parking in front of the store have super small spaces. Park closer to Rite Aid. So much bigger spaces. Look at the wall and see how many people order food for their parties.
Find an empty box while you’re waiting (you can find these on shelves either outside the store or around the corner) cause you’ll walk out of that store with so much food.. And… don’t forget to ask for a small dollar soup! My go to combo… two item. beef steak (so good) and their caldaretta. And… $ 1 sinigang soup. Dude. I swear I can just do sinigang soup and rice. That’s all I need.
The ceiling does look like it’s gonna cave in so stand back and lean next to the stack of 25lbs sacks of rice. Your number will be called in no time. Actually… I’ve waited for up to 20 minutes. It’s a busy place. They’ve gotta wrap that food up so the manteca won’t soak into the carpets of your car. They don’t tape the lids. They just wrap it w/​w/​a plastic bag so be very careful with your soups… get a box. Just go. Give them a try. Just get that number first!

Happened to pass by this place called Lutong Bahay restaurant which is attached to their market. First thing I noticed are the flies landing on their food. Some are dark at the top which means that they are old. That’s how you tell if Filipino food has been there for quite some time. I asked how much for a combo and one of the oldies there said $ 7.50. I asked which ones are included and she pointed over her left. After I picked my 2 entrees, she wrote on the styrofoam container $ 10.50. I asked why the price went up so much and in her broken English but arrogant way said that I got the beefsteak. I took the container and left it in their supermarket area.
You will get better food and better prices minus the flies at Pinoy-​Pinay, Toto’s Lechon, Kusina ni Lola or Pondahan in West Covina.
Never again will you see me buying anything at this dirty place.

I used to love this place. I’ve been coming here for years but unfortunately, this place have changed! The price have risen very steeply and the containers have shrunk. Amy the head chef is still awesome, bur to insist using leftover lechon kawali meat for their mongo is sacrilegious!
I guess the song of the mighty dollar is running this place now. So therefore, I’ll just have to look for other place or start cooking myself.
If I could give this place a –10 I would!

This place has good, fast home cooked food. You can buy a whole filipino thanksgiving feast for cheap! I come back here just for their sweet and sour catfish — it’s the best I’ve had (and didn’t know existed until this place??) They tend to change it up though. sometimes they’ll have sweet and sour meatballs instead so make sure you come on the right day because the fish is what you want.
The food is served cafeteria style inside of a market. Quick and easy! Pick up some asian groceries after you chow down!

Love this place!!! This is my go to place to buy «ulam» and combos. They give you so much for the price you pay. When I get the combo, there’s always enough left overs for another meal.
My all time favorite from there are: kare-​kare, chicken adobo, beef steak, seafood with coconut milk, puso ng saging, bbq on a stick, beef steak… ok I guess I can say you will not get disappointed with whatever you get from their ready hot foods.
They are very convenient to those who does not have time too cook.

It’s about time to post my second review. A time to share my experience. And calling DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH.
It was such a disgusting truth to notice flies all over the used-​to-​be the top most Filipino turo-​turo joint.
It was more like a showcase of flying objects feasting in the open trays of food and no one appeared to care about it.
Door was open.

The best Filipino «turo-​turo» restaurant I’ve found in greater L.A. «Turo-​turo» means «point, point» in Tagalog, and that’s exactly what you do when you order. Just take a number, point at what you want and the server will ladle it out for you. Take-​out only. This place clearly isn’t accustomed to Caucasian customers, so I was regarded by the staff as some sort of novelty act. Staff were very helpful in explaining the basics of Filipino cuisine, although having gone to the Philippines at least once a year on business for the past 7 years and travelling through the country on holiday I’ve become quite familiar with it. The pork adobo was divine. The fish cooked in coconut milk and the turon weren’t too shabby either. The lumpiang were good but make sure you get them fresh as they turn soggy quickly if they’re left out too long. The sisig had a good flavour, but wasn’t as crunchy as I liked it.
The hygiene left a bit to be desired though. The floors were dirty and there was a fishy odor to the place, in other words just like in the Philippines!

I love this place!
If you think all the Filipino yumminess here are blah– please have your taste buds checked.

First off, this is take-​out.
My homeland writ large in a small grocery store slash point-​point (turo-​turo) joint. Need fresh fish? This is a good local place. Looking for Asian vegetables? Come here. Jonesing for Pilipino food (yes «P»), don’t forget to take a number, stand in line, and wait for your turn. It’s inexpensive, satisfying, home style cooking for take-​out.
Beware the parking lot and the crazy people who are either medicated or otherwise not paying attention.

REALLY Good Filipino Fast food TO GO place.
If you don’t feel like cooking dinner, this is the place to go… There is always a wait, but it’s worth it since, their food is very tasty.
