Ensaymada with Coconut and Purple Yam. That’s it! I swear it’s really hard to say no to it and even harder to just eat one! Super moist, soft, crazy rich, subtle sweetness, and yummy ube that takes it to the next level! The price though ($ 2.99/ea) is saving me from buying it in packs or whenever were in Eagle Rock Mall lol. It’s sorta the control mechanism that prevents me from going on an ensaymada binge! This spot is super clean, super easy to shop your baked goodies, and their packaging is top-​notch. Shit, just writing this review is making me feel like a Walking Dead walker that just broke through Alexandria! I need that ensaymada damn it!

We’ve eaten here at least once a month. They have since raised their prices. A combo meal is now $ 8.00 (displayed as $ 7.99). The quality and serving size has remained the same. Halo halo, juices, almost all went up. That’s it for me eating at this place for now. There’s lots of other Filipino places around Glendale, with bigger servings for less.

I don’t normally like eating at buffet restaurants but when I saw tortang talong as one of the buffet items, my husband and I went for it. Food was simple, something you can easily cook at home and everything was just too salty. My issue is we went there for the tortang talong. We had the first serving and asked where the tortang talong is. The response was they’re still preparing it. Minutes passed, we then asked the server about the tortang talong and he said he’ll check. He never came back. My husband went back for second serving but really just wanted to check if the tortang talong is already on the buffet spread, he was told the cook is busy because of a ‘catering’ but that it will be there. So we waited for 5, 10, 15 minute until it stretched to an hour. I have had it. If the item is not going to be served the least you can do is remove it from your listed buffet items right in front of your restaurant. We actually expressed our excitement to the lady in front about how we’re going to try Leelin only because of the tortang talong posted on the board. Before we left, i approached the same lady in front and told her of our disappointment, that it is bad practice to keep lying that they’re preparing an item when they really aren’t. Not only were we shortchanged, we were cheated and lied upon over and over again. The lady’s response to our complaint was a simple ‘i-​check ko po’. Bad business practice and i can only say this place is not going anywhere but down. It’s bad enough that the buffet items posted on the board is incorrect, it is even worst to lie over and over again that it will be there soon when they know it won’t. To say that you are busy because of the many orders that came in is unacceptable. It is not fair for people who went there and paid full price. I will not go back to this place and you can rest assured that i will advise friends and family of this bad experience.

Thank you leelin’s bakery for my son’s mine craft theme cake! I love that they can customize and accept orders in just a short notice. Love that the cake was moist and not too sweet! We’ll order again soon!

So good. From my last review to now, nothing has changed but just to say «Man, this place is so good!!». They have a breakfast buffet on the weekend so I might drive out here on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

After hating the food in this restaurant for a long time, I decided to give it another try. I was surprised, the food improved, it’s actually edible now. They still need to improve their speed. It takes forever to go through the food line for such a simple purchase. They also need to have better prices, comparable restaurants have cheaper prices.

I like it here. Right inside the Eagle Rock Mall, the overall feel is relaxed and easy. The food tastes well enough to bring back memories of my homeland, the Philippines. They have hardworking crew with smiles like sunshine. It totally connects me to my roots. Anyway, if you check in on Unilocal!,it’s a 10% discount. On weekends, there is an eat-​all-​you-​can breakfast buffet for $ 10.99. I say it’s not bad for the price at all. You get coffee, fruit, and dessert with the rest of the food. Oh yes, this will keep me coming back for more. I Love You Leelin! :-)

One of the best places to buy Filipino pastries. Many choices to choose from. Even sells cake. There’s also a frozen section for food. Saw lumpia!
In the café, there’s ready made hot food. Cafeteria style. I’m not that keen on the food, but I LOVE their halo halo and Filipino drinks which you can take to go. Very good price.
They renovated the café. Personally, the old décor was fine.

After I bit into this supposed to be soft, creamy sponge cake and instead got a stale taste and seems like it just got defrosted from the freezer, I checked the expiration date. And to my surprise, there were two exp dates. So is this really what they do in this bakery? If they don’t sell it before the exp date, they just add more days and place a new sticker? That is just not right! I just lost my trust in them!

It’s wierd that the name changed but it’s still pretty much Goldilocks. On the bakery side, they’ve added the English names of sweets so being Filipino, it’s kind of funny to find polvoron labeled as shortbread since it’s not exactly right. Otherwise, I highly recommend most of their treats. The cakes aren’t really worth it though, kinda pricey. If you really want a mango or ube/​purple yam cake though, go for it. Next door in the restaurant, you’re sure to get your fill of filipino food, from karekare to barbeque. And there’s always lots of rice since that’s a staple part of the meal! Come during their breakfast special and you get more for your buck.

The wife has really fallen in love with filipino breakfast I decided to take her to Leelin for their weekend buffet. The experience was solid overall. Leelin offers their buffet is served cafeteria style. You go up with a plate, point to what you want and one of the workers behind the counter piles it on. Nothing there is solid but really all that special. The biggest drawing factor is variety and cost. At $ 9.99 a head its really hard to beat as I have spent more on single portion filipino breakfast entrees for comparable food.

Me and my wife went to this place today 06.21.2015. The food that we ordered was Laing for my wife. While eating, my wife chew a piece of glass. Not just like a small piece but a 1 inch size piece of glass. I was really mad because Leelin Bakery did not handle the food prep carefully for the safety of the customers specially this is a food chain business.

Every time I am in Highland Park I always come to this little Filipino bakery and get myself a couple different slices of cake.
The mango mousse and the taro are my two favorites but you can’t go wrong with any of them. The price is always right and The size of these cakes are always well worth it.
I love the people that work here also, there always so friendly and they love letting you try different samples.
Anytime you’re in Highland Park I would highly recommend stopping by and giving them a chance.

Leelin used to be Goldilocks Bakery. The same corporation but just a different name.
This location is broken up between the bakery and restaurant. The bakery produces typical Filipino baked goods, cakes, desserts. All which are pretty good but not one thing that stands out to be great and a bit more pricey than some of their competitors. Service at the bakery is not as helpful and actually quite slow.
On the other hand, the restaurant part is cafeteria style and the service is actually helpful, quick, great with a smile. One or two item combos for a decent price. I had a two item combo of kare kare and chicken bbq that came with two mounds of rice an a side soup. Actually, not bad at all. I also ordered sago & gulaman a refreshing drink of a Filipino version of jello and boba.
It’s worth coming back for the restaurant part, not so much for the overpriced subpar bakery.

Came here to release the inner fob for lunch whilst working in the illustrious highland park. Coworker coerced me into getting turo-​turo and based on the cleanliness and organization of this location I couldn’t resist.
Seems to be less greasy than the typical point places and the bbq was super fucking fresh when we got it, so thats always a plus. The binagoongan wasnt over run with grease and all fat pieces either so I ended up getting a major food coma being you can’t not eat that shit with rice.
Overall I’ll be back if/​when I crave something in particular that can’t be attained at mom’s lol

This used to be a Goldilocks. I still don’t know why a lot of Goldilock’s bakeries in So Cal have become Leelin Bakery. They pretty much seem the same. Food and bakery options are pretty much the same, just packaged with a new name. Some of my go-​to items here are the buttered biscotti, puto, ensaymada, and mamom.
It’s located in an indoor shopping plaza with other Filipino establishments like Seafood City, Jollibee, and Chow King. They also offer a buffet style food service, which I have not tried.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and so I’m sorry to write that the breakfast buffet wasn’t super great. There’s definitely a lot to choose from and it’s difficult to complain since it’s only $ 10 and even includes desserts and coffee (which was excellent, so much so that I would have bought some coffee for home if they sold it).
I tried pretty much everything, but I was really forcing myself to eat most of the food, which had no discernable taste other than incredibly oily. I’ve simply had better longanisa, tocino, bangus, tapa, pancit, silog elsewhere, so I can’t recommend the buffet, but the goods sold on the bakery side are better and worth trying.

This review is based on the hot foods area ONLY! I was very disappointed in their pancit. It was a joke when I tasted it. I was trying to get over the fact it looked nothing like a traditional Pancit bihon as I have had plenty in my lifetime. After tasting it, it proved to me I was right. It was so bland & tasteless. I was sadden I paid $ 4.99 for an order of noodles that had basically little to nothing in it but flavorless noodles. I would completely skip this if you come here. However, their fried lumpia’s are delicious hot out of the fryer I enjoy it with the little sweet sour sauce it comes with.
Service was very good here might I add.

This is the new version of Goldilocks Bakeshop. It’s basically the same food items under a different brand. The word on the street is that the family who owns Goldilocks in the U.S. (the Leelins) has now separated from the franchise; hence, the name change. They also wanted to reach out to a more inclusive market (i.e., both Filipinos & non-​Filipinos) and introduce homegrown delicacies to all Angelenos. I think I’m on board with that!
Anyway, I like that Leelin has a more organized and streamlined lineup of pastries. It’s easy to go around the store and pick out what interests you; the place is clean and enticing. The staff’s very helpful as well. The cakes appeared to be freshly baked and they now have more varieties of cupcakes (e.g., ube and red velvet!). Everything practically looks delish, albeit some sweets were a little on the pricey side.
The other half of Leelin is the restaurant portion, which I haven’t checked out. I’m hoping it’s also better than the old Goldilocks eatery. I’m planning on trying their breakfast buffet that’s «Everything Silog», which means that they serve everything with fried rice and egg! I wasn’t a fan of the old Goldilocks breakfast buffet, but I’m willing to give the new one a shot. ;)
