Our criminal law office has ripened over the past eight years as we have balanced our slow, yet consistent growth against ensuring that every client is treated like a member of our family and given the best possible criminal defense in Los Angeles. Criminal Defense Attorney Daniel Perlman earned his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of California and his Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Daniel is an experienced trial attorney who has handled thousands of cases throughout Southern California.

Prior to graduating from law school, Daniel worked as a Prosecutor in Montgomery County, Maryland, where he became aware of many of the stumbling blocks that exist between prosecutors and defense attorneys. Daniel used this opportunity to learn how best to approach prosecutors and how to creatively resolve differences to the satisfaction of both sides.

Nearly a decade as a criminal and dui defense attorney, has resulted in the firm having a strong rapport all over the county in courts ranging from Long Beach and Torrance in the South, Pomona, West Covina and Alhambra to the East, & Santa Clarita and San Fernando in the North. Most of his time is spent in Van Nuys, Burbank and Glendale.

Not only did we win my case but what separates Mr. Perlman’s team from the rest is that every client is handled like they are the office’s only client. About 3 years ago, I was in need of legal help. I was recommended to a different firm initially, but during my consultation realized I was being lied too so that with a sense of urgency, I would retain theyer services. I left and did my own research and found Daniel Perelman. I decided to met with him, who immediatly struck me as someone how knew what he was talking about. He laid out all the different options for proceeding, and after defending me for about 4 months, got me the best possible outcome for my case. Hes not the cheapest attorney, but being a small business owner, I understand that you get what you pay for, and with this firm, its money well spent. I highly recommend his services and hope I never need them again.

I came to Daniel Pearlman when I found myself with a second DUI. He was highly recommended to me from a friend and he is quite familiar with the Van Nuys Court. His office staff was very professional and courteous to me and Daniel himself was very personable and immediately made me feel like I had come to the right firm. When I needed immediate attention, Daniel himself was available to respond to me at a moments notice.
Team member Jeffrey Rosanswank attorney, was very diplomatic and comfortable with the court room proceedings and with dealing with the prosecution. My case had the potential to expand to a criminal situation but Daniel Pearlman’s team contained it at the lowest possible level. Getting a DUI is one of the worst experiences i’ve had to deal with. Initially, i was working with a public defender, but i realized the potential fall out if things weren’t done right. A close friend referred me to Daniel, citing his notoriety in the field and his extensive experience. Since then, I can say it’s been a great pleasure to work with him and his office.
Being my first DUI, I was completely lost about the process and my opportunities. Incidentally, there was a four car collision in connection to my DUI, so I could tell it could get ugly for me if i didn’t have a strong defense. Working with the Law Offices of Daniel Perlman has made the process so much more approachable and easier to deal with. For any question or issue i had, Daniel and his team were immensely helpful and considerate. Not knowing anything about DUIs i had a million and one questions they were patient enough to listen to and take into account.

We recently retained Mr. Perlman to represent my son with his case regarding a ticket he received while on vacation over 2014 summer. We live out of state so trying to look for an attorney at the last minute was really scary. Not to mention the trust factor since we knew we would be dealing with an attorney through phone and email communication. But we were in good hands! Mr. Perlman handled the case swiftly and kept our cost down. He was able to reduce the misdemeanor to an infraction and saved our son from a lot of headache (including his parents). I had a run in with the law, denying to take the breathalizer test had gotten me taken into custody so obviously I started researching to find a good attorney to handle my case in court, one of my top 3 choices was Daniel R Perlman.
Full disclosure, I did not end up retaining the services of this law firm. After researching and reviewing I noticed that most the positive reviews for this business mentioned ‘Matthew Cohen’ several times, since Matthew Cohen no longer works with this firm I decided to retain him at his new firm due to the feedback.
HOWEVER, I did come in for a free consultation with Mark K Khalaf (who replaced Matthew Cohen at this firm). I found Mr. Khalaf to be very knowledgeable and very up front with the possible outcomes and scenerios as well as the choices we can take in order to defend my case. To be honest this was the most through ‘free consultation’ I was given when I was interviewing other firms.
Had I found more positive remarks about either Daniel Perlman directly or Mark K Khalaf I probably would have gone with them as they were my second choice. In the end I decided to retain Matthew Cohen since all the kudos on most reviews were for him.

I was referred to Daniel R. Perlman from a friend on Facebook and I am sure glad I was! I had a very minor (in the grand scheme of things — not to me) issue with the Riverside County Traffic Courts. Even though it was minor, Mr. Perlman took the time and explained to me the ins and outs of my case.
I challenge you to find a lawyer who will take time out of his or her busy day to talk to someone about their minor traffic issue! Mr. Perlman is an exceptional example for all lawyers and I can not recommend him enough. He is trustworthy, knowledgeable and caring.
I will not hesitate to hire Mr. Perlman in the future if a need arises.

Luckily I picked Dan Perlman as an attorney when I found out that I had legal issues
that had to be settled. I live on the east coast and really wasn’t aware of any problems. Mr. Perlman did all of the leg work and contacted the pertinent offices to straighten out the situatiion. Matthew is a great attorney, he made me feel very confident and have high hopes in winning my DUI case.
He always returned my phone calls in a timely manner and answered all my questions with a breeze.
He won my DMV hearing, so NO suspended license and then he got my whole case rejected from the courts! So nothing on my record at all!

Matthew, one of Daniels attorneys, was great. kept me out of a heap of trouble! More than I want to discuss here! He wasn’t obnoxiously expensive either. He was the first person I saw regarding my case, and I didn’t feel the need to explore anyone else. Definitely someone you can trust for serious offenses.
I also referred my coworker to him regarding his wife’s dui, he actually got her out of it completely!
