This place is pretty great!
I was bummed to find out that the Library Store is temporarily closed. They are my go-​to spot to get greetings cards. I found this place on Unilocal so decided to check out the card selection.
I was happy to find that the card selection is really cute and nice *and* that the store is filled with awesome gift ideas that are pretty inexpensive to a little pricier. A lot of different candles, stationary, pens, notepads, etc. Overall, very cute stuff! I found a cute card and a cute eraser.
I would definitely come back here.

I spent a lovely Wednesday evening at this boutique for a pre-​launch party for my friend Yumi Sakugawa’s new book, There Is No Right Way to Meditate. It was a fun event with a short talk followed by a signing, with snacks and booze to enjoy while mingling. The space was small, but it worked quite well as a venue for a book signing – it felt intimate and memorable, and I had a nice time browsing the store before and after.
Lab 3 had a unique, hip antique shop vibe. It was densely decorated and crowded with charming wares. Everything corner seemed like it might hold something special – there were tons of knick knacks all around, great gift material, though probably not the easiest to match to any given person. I had a friend’s housewarming to go to, and I ended up buying her a signed copy of Yumi’s book along with a silly/​practical gift of «Poo-​pourri,» a spray meant to neutralize toilet odors. I’m sure a more keen-​eyed shopper could buy something cooler, but I was happy with this purchase, which the staff did a lovely job of wrapping.
I also liked the wonderful assortment of cards, and would definitely use this place as my card stop if I lived in the area. Lab 3 just seems like a great quick stop to run gifting errands while walking around downtown. I probably live far away enough that I won’t come by often, but I had a good time hanging out. The space was welcoming, the staff friendly, and the goods fun and unusual. And of course, I like any store that supports local artists, and Lab 3 was a gracious host for Yumi’s event.

Hands down the best Boutique in Los Angeles. I only buy gifts for my friends, and family from here. Melissa and Cindy may be the coolest business owners of all time. Please, check them out you won’t be disappointed.

Best and most creative gift shop, wish I didn’t live so far, it would be my «go to» for every gift giving event. A must stop when in DTLA

I walked my dogs by this shop for a year before I actually walked in. I needed a gift and some gift wrapping and had a feeling this was the place I needed to check out. I spent a good 30 minutes combing through the entire store amazed at how many interesting items they carry. The reusable shopping bag I bought (bicycle print) was 10 times better than the dull wedding gift that went in it (ugggh wedding gifts). I also got a mini mexican style bag to gift a necklace I had purchased previous to my visit. Love this shop. Plenty of good things can be found in there.

Very cute store, great location in DTLA — came in here once because the store across the street recommended it for a card (I was buying a present and needed one quick!) Loved everything inside, vintage to new and the prices aren’t too bad!

What a cool place. A great mix of throwback items, cool stationary, and great personal gifts. Cindy and Melissa were great to speak with. They introduced my nephew to pik-​a-​stik. Found a cool Texas Ranger replica badge and some other cool gifts. If I ever get back to LA with my wife, we will definitely go here!

I agree! This is my go-​to spot in DTLA for hostess or birthday gifts. They have a good mix of things: jewelry, candles, cards, antiques, gag gifts, pouches, coasters, books, toys… that type of thing. Recently, they seem to be stocking more items that are guy-​friendly as well and their antiques selection has definitely been ramped up. Also– very friendly and helpful staff, and they giftwrap!

I absolutely love this lil shop. When you’re in a crunch and need to find a gift, quick. This is the place to come. From candles to jewelry, to nic nacs and cards, they’ve got what you need. Absolutely adorable. It was a lifesaver during the holidays. So many times I had forgotten to get a card, a gift, or something for someone. It bailed me out at least a half dozen times!
Not really a place for dude gifts. Just stop by a liquor store for them.

I’m thrilled to have this lovely gift shop in DTLA.
When I first discovered it, I was simultaneously shocked (that I hadn’t noticed it before) and embarrassed (that I hadn’t noticed it before). Due to my own tunnel vision while walking, I had missed this gem a number of times.
I’ve been in several times now, and always find something new and perfect. Wonderful selection of candles, jewelry, curios, funny cute things, cards… and one of the best parts is getting something gift-​wrapped. Took a couple friends in the other day and one of them found a scarf for her cousin and left with it tucked into an adorable burlap bag. Friend was very, very happy.
This boutique is really well curated, so shopping is a fun discovery experience.

Hole in the wall shopping — best way to describe? A mix of country (think pale browns, mason jars, burlap) + vintage.
This is such a neat little gift shop — sure it’s a little pricey, but then again they are quality goods. I was a fan of their candles & they even had a few books, such as The Sprouted Kitchen. Also have assorted house items like coasters made out of recycled rubber, salt & pepper shakers, coffee mugs, etc. You just gotta go in to get the whole vibe, there are things everywhere!
I would love to come back to pick up a few things, gotta support the local businesses.
I gotta admit what drew me into the store was that creepy tv that was playing static & the lovely cobwebs.

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE this store! I bought the cutest pair of Eiffel Tower Earrings and they were only $ 8.00…The store is just filled with major cuteness.

Tucked inbetween some weird knick-​knack store that always seems to be selling flipflops and some weird store that may or may not sell blankets… you shall find the typical cutesy gift boutique that you might expect to see in Santa Monica.
I poked my head in the other day, as I needed a birthday card, but also just needed to stare at pretty things. Basically everything in here is geared towards women, from dainty soaps to sparkling baubles. It has a really cool eclectic feel to it, but everything is well curated so it all seems to fit together into a cute, hip little mishmash.
The few masculine things that I did find were cards and a blanket for avoiding mustard gas (!!!) which had a really awesome vibe to it. The cards are all pretty cutesy letter pressed things, so even the ones geared towards men are generally twee in regards to aesthetic. I ended up getting one that had a little bowtie on it that said «Happy Birthday Handsome,» as to pick fun at the fact that my friend is a total complete animal beast.
Definitely a cute little shop! I’ll absolutely be back when I need to grab something for my mom or lady friends.

Wow! This place is amazing! Candles, cards, books, kids toys, jewelry, etc… if you are looking for a gift, come here! DTLA is going through some crazy gentrification (I hope that DTLA will keep a nice balance of pupuserias alongside hip boutiques, but sadly this is greedy America, and that won’t happen).
Everything is reasonably priced and the staff is really nice.
This place is easily missed as it is sandwiched between the swap meet style store (awesome if you need things like 2 dollar flip flops!) and I think a travel agency. It’s near Garage Pizza.

This is the kind of store that makes me want to redecorate my entire apartment.
From little trinkets to large furniture pieces, there are several gems. I found an adorable pair of earrings and one industrial distressed table struck my fancy. For under two hundred dollars, I was able to (literally) roll it to my apartment where it is now on my patio as a center piece for my garden.
I like to check in to see if I can find other one of a kind pieces or cute gift ideas. The staff is friendly and knowledgable.

One of downtown finest! This is a unique card store which is very well decorated. The staff are the friendliest in the entire area. They are also animal lovers! So take your pet in to say hellow. Thanks for the treat!

The store has antique and odd ball knick knacks in a good way though. Found an antique whale bottle opener I gave as a housewarming present, scored with that one and Melissa took her time to wrap it up so it looked like I paid for wrapping, kind of but still fancy.
Melissa the owner is really helpful and the place is dog friendly with a doggy of her own walking around, her employees are just as cool too.

Lab 3 is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Think Anthropologie, but more reasonably priced and in the heart of Downtown.
I have purchased several items (vintage magazine rack, ironing board, small mirror and a stool) and I am super thrilled with all of them! They have a little bit of everything including: gift cards, candles, lotion, scarves, old records, and vintage dinnerware.
