History

Established in 2004.

We are third generation wedding officiants. Growing up with our father and grandfather as wedding officiants (Justice of the Peace), it was only natural for us to follow in their footsteps.

In 2003, Arielle received her Ministry Certification from the Universal Life Church and became legally able to perform weddings, which was a very exciting prospect! Elysia became ordained in 2008 and has since brought on and personally trained a handful of close family friends as officiants to the business.

Having a group of us really expanded our business, as it gives us greater opportunities to officiate, and accommodate new client’s needs if one us is already booked on a requested date. We are also notaries, and we issue marriage licenses to our clients if needed. Se habla español!

My name is Arielle Haze and my sister, Elysia, & I are the LA Wedding Women. I established this business in 2004, and currently officiate 2 to 3 weddings a week. Elysia has been customizing and officiating wedding ceremonies since 2008 and we often work together when a client chooses to have me photograph their wedding (www​.arielle​hazepho​tog​ra​phy​.com). I got my start photographing weddings in 1992; but, an event happened in 2004 that changed my life and added a new aspect to my career — a friend flew me to Florida to photograph her wedding; but, unfortunately, her Officiant never showed up! I was the only person available who was legally allowed to perform the ceremony; so, with laughter and professionalism, I officiated and photographed the wedding at the same time. It was so much fun! Since that day, I have officiated or photographed weddings almost every weekend. Nothing makes us happier than being a part of your special day. Weddings are such joys for us! Thank you :-)

I can’t say enough about our wedding officiant, Chris. From beginning to end, he was just the sweetest person. We met once before the ceremony and talked via email and text. He offered support throughout the wedding planning and provided feedback when I sent him my wedding vows. It’s crazy that our wedding vendors offered the most support during that planning time than our own family did. Thank you Chris for being amazing! People asked me if he was our friend because he seemed to know us well.

It has been three months since our wedding, and we are STILL getting compliments about our officiant, Arielle Haze! When looking for an officiant, our biggest concern was that we would hire someone who was cheesy or delivered a cookie cutter wedding package. Arielle exceeded all of our expectations. She officiated our wedding with warmth and sincerity that all of our guests felt and appreciated. In the weeks and months leading up to the wedding, she was more than happy to answer all of our questions and craft the perfect language for us. Maria Felipe officiated our wedding. My wife scouted the internet for a bilingual officiant a few months before our wedding. Having a bilingual officiant was important to us because not all our guest would understand a single language ceremony. I however, was a bit skeptical about having a bilingual ceremony because didn’t want to burden our guest with having to sit through two ceremonies. My wife set up the initial consultation with Maria to get to know her and express the specific needs of our ceremony. Upon meeting Maria we took notice of how comforting and accommodating she was. Moreover, not only did we want a bilingual ceremony, but we also wanted to somehow include my 10 year old daughter. Maria listen and offered the perfect suggestion right on the spot. Then Maria gave us a sample of how she would deliver a bilingual ceremony. I relieved to hear how effortlessly she switched from one language to the next without disrupting the fluidity of the ceremony.
On the day of our wedding Maria took us aside and reminded us to breathe and not forget what this day was all about. She was so professional and comforting that the moment she saw me getting emotional she began to whisper «breathe.» The ceremony went perfect. However, what made the night even more special was how we was able to include my (now our) daughter into the ceremony. Everyone mentioned how beautiful that gesture was.

Such an incredible experience! I called at 10am on Friday and Chris called me back within 10 minutes, we scheduled a quick I do with tracey for the same day. Tracey called us and we ended up rescheduling with her for the next day (saturday) which was better for us and her. We went to her home and she was lovely from start to finish. What I thought was going to be truly quick and cold feeling was the exact opposite. It was short but beautiful, warm and heartfelt. I cried, my husband cried and our baby talked to Tracey through the whole ceremony. Even though we are having a wedding next year this was when we were really married and it is a wonderful memory. I highly recommend Tracey and LA Wedding Woman.

Elysia was the officiant for our wedding last month. She was amazing and I can’t say enough good things about her. My husband and I are so appreciative of the calmness she surrounded us with the day-​of. Her little reminders throughout the ceremony really helped us to be present and take it all in. One of my favorite parts was the incredible sight, walking down that hill to the ceremony aisle, of all our friends and family present there to support us and my husband waiting there for me. It was so special and I’m so happy I can think back to it with such clarity. The love and positive energy there during those 30 minutes or so was pleasantly overwhelming. We’re so thankful to Elysia for being a part of that and for her help to really bring that out and for her lovely words. I highly recommend LA wedding woman if you are looking for an officiant for your special day and one that can bring great energy. We were referred to LA Wedding Woman by our wedding planner. Arielle officiated our wedding and Elysia also assisted us with getting our marriage license application. Both Arielle and Elysia made the process easy and efficient and their caring supportive nature just radiates through them both. We met with both in person as well as traded many emails before (and after) the big day! They were very helpful answeing all our questions and open to our preferences on what we wanted said during our ceremony. Arielle was a wonderful officiant with a nurturing loving presence and our guests loved her as did we! Chris Rodriguez is our officiant during our Quick-​I-​do this Halloween and what a joy he was to have around! A stress relief too as he is very knowledgeable on the legalities and paperwork and knows how to sort things out efficiently while still keeping the mood lighthearted and warm. His presence made our special day spiritual, graceful, powerful and enlightening plus practically stress-​free! We are very fortunate to have him marry us.
How we found Chris: We wanted to marry on Halloween but the court only opens Mon-​Friday and Halloween is a Saturday. So we came online, found LA Wedding Woman, I rang up and Chris picked up the phone. After asking him questions about getting married, we found him a delight (mood + rapport wise) and my then fiancé joked if Chris could marry us! To our great luck, we found out that he is an ordained officiant and also a notary which means he can sort out all the paperwork without you worrying about it after the ceremony. We jumped at having Chris at our wedding. We really wanted a magic hour nuptial too at 6pm on a Saturday and although the timing was slightly out of the way for Chris, he made special effort to make sure he can be there for us.
A few days leading up to the wedding, I emailed Chris back and forth questions we had about the wedding and paperwork. He is very communicative and informative. Always making sure we know what is involved. He also goes above and beyond! Making sure we know to get certain documents and details ready on our special day, so that after the ceremony, he can fill our details onto the forms straight away without us having to stress or to run around looking for our legal documents.
On the day, there was a film shoot happening at the wedding location and I let Chris know about it. While my guests struggled to find parking, Chris made the effort to arrive early, and he was on time and even know where to find us while we are busy getting last minute details ready for the guests. This shows that he really takes great pride in being an officiant and also takes it seriously, that your big day is as important to him as it is to you.
That day, Chris let us settle into finding the right spot for us to film the nuptial. He was very observant and offer suggestions whenever he can to make the ceremony as effective as possible — We have bracelets ready for each other and he let my friend who is holding them to know when to come in after he said certain sentences in the oath, so we can exchange our bracelets without interruptions. If he hadn’t mentioned it, our ceremony would have not flowed as well. Chris also has the most calming, magical voice, epic at times when he utters the oath. He also allowed a period between oaths to let me and my husband share a few personal words with each other, which made it very special for us and our guests. We got overwhelmed with sincerity, pure emotion and contentment, shedding a few tears of wonder to our own surprise. Chris finally finished the last epic of the oath wonderfully and we enjoyed our first husband & wife kiss. The way he smiled at us in the photographs showed how genuinely contented he is for us. My mom even asked me who’s the cool guy marrying us when she saw the pics.
A beautiful wedding and a time we will always remember… Thank you Chris, for your fun and wonderful role in our wedding and always taking care of the logistical side of the nuptial from start to finish. Your presence made our special day magical and beyond our expectations, and we are very lucky to have you!

Tracy is great ! My husband and I found them on Unilocal and called. We spoke to Chris and he was so sweet and answered all of my questions. A few days later I received a call from Tracy asking me what we were looking for in terms of a ceremony. I let her know that we wanted a quick I do. She was great and so helpful. On the day of our ceremony we met with her at the destination and it was quick but still sweet. We will be going to Tracy again for our bigger wedding.
She was early and got right to signing our marriage license and walking our witness through the process and how they should sign the license. She gave us all the information we needed and made us feel so at ease.
They’re all great and so sweet and made us feel so special even with it being so small but we loved it.

Elysia was a great find for my now-​Wife & I amidst a lot of noise in the Los Angeles area. When we were scrambling to iron out the details of our ceremony, Elysia stood out. Now I’m a frugal person and skeptical of many things. So I admit that I looked around further to see if I was finding the best deal as well as the best service I could find. Throughout my many searches, all signs pointed me back to LA Wedding Woman. My wife and I decided that she was undoubtedly our best bet and we flipped the switch.
Not only was Elysia punctual, but she was extremely attentive and communicative leading up to the big day. She didn’t pressure us, and every communication was very welcome and calming for us both. She was more than just an officiant to us keeping us focused, relaxed, and composed. We felt like she was an old friend by the end of the ceremony.
I know I can speak for my wife and I that we couldn’t have found better. If you’re looking for an officiant yourself, look no further. That’s my favor to you, since my skeptical self invested the time. She’s the best one you’re going to find in the Los Angeles area.

Elysia officiated our wedding ceremony and she was just perfect. I loved working with her from the very beginning. From the second I first spoke to her I could tell she loves what she does and genuinely cares about her clients. We spoke several times on the phone and we met in person to review our thoughts/​vision for the wedding ceremony.
Our wedding ceremony was completely custom and incorporated many personal elements. She gave us suggestions on wording and even researched hindu symbolism that we could add. She reviewed our personal vows and made sure they sounded well and evenly balanced. Elysia came to our wedding rehearsal and took care of all the logistical paperwork for marriage certificates.
The day of the wedding she got there early and took us both aside and reminded us what the day was about. She has the most calming presence and reminded us to breathe and soak it all in. I was anxious but I really felt calm with her by our side. It was because of her words that I stopped while walking down the aisle and enjoyed the moment. The wedding ceremony was beyond beautiful! She did it perfectly and even brought printouts of our vows and readings.
We are so thankful that our paths have crossed and she was there for our special day. Thank you so much Elysia! Our wedding ceremony was beyond our expectations!

From the moment I first contacted Linda I knew we were going to have a seamless experience. I explained our situation — my husband was terminally ill and we hoped for an uncomplicated ceremony at our beautiful home overlooking the ocean.
With only a couple days notice Linda sent her husband/“mobile minister”, Bill, to our home. He was very thorough with the paperwork, professional where he needed to be, and compassionate when it came to our brief ceremony. He was also most patient with our witnesses who were in their 90’s and required a little extra care and consideration. He even took post-​ceremony photos for us! He couldn’t have been more accommodating.
Given the recent stress in our lives, it was a comfort to have such a relatively uncomplicated way to attain our official union.
If you should find yourselves in a similar predicament where the idea of going to the county registrar’s office to line up for a license simply isn’t practical, and you want convenience backed with compassion, I can’t recommend Bill and Linda’s service enough.

Elysia officiated our recent wedding ceremony and she is awesome! She is a very genuine person with such a joyful spirit. This carried over to how she officiated our ceremony with such passion (nothing drab here!). We selected the custom package with her as we wanted our love story to be told during the ceremony. She listened to what kind of ceremony we were looking for and gave us great suggestions on how to incorporate our parents and acknowledge our new blended family with our boys. Since she is also a notary, we paid extra for her to take care of the marriage license for us (one less thing to worry about!). She was so easy to work with and you can tell she really cares about what she does. Super important! Everyone told us they loved the ceremony.
Before our ceremony, she took me aside and reminded me to breathe, take it all in and be in the moment. It is very easy to get caught on details or mind racing and thinking about what is coming next. This was such good advice. While the day did go by so fast, I am able to remember such funny, quirky and very sweet moments. Thank you, Elysia!

Elysia came HIGHLY recommended by The Butter End (my cake people) and after looking at her site I knew I had to have her officiate my wedding. As two people who didn’t even know where to start when it came to words, Elysia helped us on our wordage and offered to help with ANYTHING along the way. An offer I never expected but truly appreciated! She kept the entire wedding party excited (but calm) and made my husband feel at ease when it the final moment of being up at the altar. Beyond a Simple Officiant-​a Priceless Spirit!
As a same-​gender couple together for almost 28 years, we thought we were quite jaded going into any kind of ceremony planning, but we did want something that spoke of who we are and have been. From the minute I spoke to Elysia on the phone, I knew that this was going to be a perfect journey. We met for coffee for about 2 hours to get to know each other and discuss the simple, intimate ceremony we wanted. She GOT IT and GOT US right away! While we were not planning anything specific, she gave us creative and touching ideas for a unity ceremony as well as a way to symbolize both of our religions in a way that would have never occurred to us. Her kind heart and gentle spirit made the entire experience, as simple as it was, a day we will always cherish especially because of her unique touch. Her words and sincere presence created an emotional, spiritual moment that no words can explain. I hope to keep in touch with Elysia and have her renew our vows when we get to 50! Rev Maria Felipe from LA Wedding Woman officiated my wedding this past November. I wanted a non-​denominational, bilingual (English/​Spanish) ceremony and she did a beautiful job! She was responsive to any questions and concerns that my husband and I had. She shared her standard script, offered places to make adjustments, and discussed how she would handle switching between languages without losing the guests. She’s an engaging speaker who can ad lib if need be and translate on the fly.
My favorite moment while working with her before the wedding is when she read a passage, looked at us and said «no, that’s not you» and took it out. She’s just that good at getting a feel for who you are and making her service reflect the two of you personally. Rev Maria went above and beyond and I highly recommend her.

The overall experience my husband Trenton and I had with Reverend Maria was from start to finish, completely wonderful.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Maria on the phone for an initial consultation and all three of us immediately hit it off. We knew we wanted someone with heart, positivity, and great energy. After being on the phone for a few minutes with Maria, we knew we had found the person that would marry us. When we finally met her, she was comforting and extremely accommodating of our very specific requests. We are an interracial couple, and a bilingual ceremony with traditional Mexican elements was very important to us.
