Great Location for mexican style marinated meats ! Chicken, Riblets, and carne asada… as a nice kicker try their Pork Chops.

Post bbq Asada was amazing! Salsa amazing and guacamole the best! Everyone at my party loved everything including those who bbq Asada on a regular. They said it was the best Asada they had ever. They requested the address for the location and said they will be buying their next batch there too. I strongly recommend you give this place a try. Asada great. To get guacamole you have to go on the weekend and you need to get there early other wise it will be sold out.

I love this little mom and pop shop. The produce is always such great quality and always fresh. And the guacamole! The best guacamole I’ve tasted! They make it fresh at the store and only sell it on the weekends but you gotta get there soon. They sell out quickly! Love it!

I picked up a few things here, but didn’t realize how inexpensive the items were until I checked out. Great bargains.

This place makes the best guacamole. Only available Saturdays and Sundays after 11:00AM. The only downside is that you have to go to the meat counter to get it. And if there’s a big game they will run out early. I like this place for produce. It’s only 2 blocks away and lines are always short. Yes, you can get certain things, like potato chips, for way cheaper at a supermarket, but I like that it’s so close and I’d rather keep a mom n’ pop shop in business.

Hands down the best Carne Ranchera preparada I’ve found in the neighborhood. They also have really good guacamole they sell on the weekends. This place is always busy on the weekends with people buying for bbq’s, parties, etc. This our plan of attack, we buy meat, guacamole, salsa, and all the fixining from La Mexicana, pre-order Rice & Beans from El Taquito down the street. Pick up, start grilling and it looks like I’ve been home chopping, prepping, marinating, cooking all morning.

Produce is still a yes. But by the way, there are such things that they marked high price in this lil dent, bucks higher than what you can get in Ralph’s Albertsons, you just gotta watch. Such as your branded simple personal care stuff, big branded groceries, etc. A tip of that, if you want to save money, you can get them just two blocks away at a Food4Less. That store was a new open months ago and get more and more loaded. Once I was in a hurry to get some stamps but the post office was not on hours, I bought here as 60 cents per each forever stamp, which we all know it’s 45 cents value.

pros: en route home from east l.a. 69 cents for a good-sized head of romaine. 4 cucumbers for a dollar con: most of the lettuce looked like it needed a vacation, i.e. quite wilted. found a fresh one under the others. amusement factor: the cashier was using a fat slice of cucumber as a thumb dampener to count cash.

This little market is hands down one of the best in quality of produce in the area. Sorry Albertsons and Vons, but this place kicks your butty. They not only have great produce but the prices are amazing. They have limes, avocados, mangos, papaya, radishes, mexican mint, cilantro, seranno, habanero and about 4 other types of chiles, they have different types of potatoes and tamatoes also fresh corn on the cob, cactus, a variety of onions. They have fresh mexican cheese, ready made delish ceviche, freshly made salsas and guacamole. If you like to cook traditional mexican dishes they have great cuts of meats incl those for Caldo de res, Pozole and Menudo, they also carry corn husk and bananas leafs for tamales and of course masa and piloncillo. And they have the usual great variety of mexican candies, churros, chile covered peanuts, mazapan, and saladitos for your cheladas. I really shouldn’t share all this great info because as it is and was mentioned by other Unilocalers the parking lot is tiny and always packed. Having said that just be patient in the lot like the rest of us and once in you’ll see why this place is always busy.

This is a great little market for produce and meats. You won’t find better carne asada than at this market and on Saturday’s and Sunday’s you can buy a tub of their handmade guacamole for around $ 3! It’s unbelievably good, better than if you made it yourself at home. It’s only minus one star because of the parking and tiny isles. If you’re having a weekend bbq and live in the El Sereno/Alhambra area, this is where you need to go!

This is an inconspicuous little grocery store in a little neighborhood on the corner of streets that don’t get much traffic. The parking lot is TINY(literally like 8-car sized), but plenty of street parking. I wanted to get this on Unilocal radar because the Produce here is good quality and really cheap. Prices are often lower than Food4Less yet they bring in enough produce to keep it fresh. Don’t get me wrong, the market is tiny as are the aisles and there is no organic food, but their fruit is plump, their papayas hardly blemished, and prices on produce are amazing. The meat looks pretty good too, but I haven’t needed to buy meat yet. A great store to hit if you live nearby! I often walk away with 2-weeks’ worth of veggies for a little over $ 5.
