The 2015 season is now over. Thanks for another great year! We will update this section with the 2016 lineup as soon as it’s available.

Last Remaining Seats presents classic films as they were meant to be seen: on the big screen and in a beautiful theatre.

2015 marked the 29th season of the series. Films included:

«Psycho» (1960) at the Million Dollar

«City Lights» (1931) at the Los Angeles

«How to Marry a Millionaire» (1953) at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion

«Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory» (1971) at the Orpheum

«Raiders of the Lost Ark» (1981) at the Theatre at Ace Hotel

The L.A. Conservancy started the film series in 1987 as a way to draw attention to L.A.‘s historic theatres. The film series has now become a summer tradition, drawing thousands of people from the region, the nation, and outside the U.S.

Proceeds support the Conservancy’s efforts to preserve historic places throughout L.A. County.

History

Established in 1978.

The Los Angeles Conservancy is a private, member-based nonprofit devoted to preserving, revitalizing, and celebrating the historic places that make Greater Los Angeles unique. Formed by a small group of people working to prevent demolition of the Los Angeles Central Library, the Conservancy is now the largest organization of its kind in the U.S., with more than 6,000 member households and hundreds of volunteers.

While the Conservancy’s efforts span Los Angeles County, we’re located in downtown L.A. We work through education and advocacy to raise awareness of our architectural heritage, prevent the needless demolition of historic places, and help people preserve places that matter to them. Our walking tours cover a range of topics, from downtown’s renaissance to the details of the Art Deco style. Last Remaining Seats, our summer series of classic films in historic theatres, brings more than 10,000 people into Broadway’s spectacular movie palaces.
