FINALLY!!! The Bay Area’s very own Kinders brought to LA! No BBQ sandwich compares to the famous ball tip with Kinders family recipe BBQ sauce. Can’t sing the praises of this place enough. Gotta try it for yourself to believe the hype!

If you love the Q as much I love BBQ, you will not be disappointed in coming here to Kinder’s Smokehouse at the Upper Level Concourse inside the Staple’s Center. The open air area overlooking LA Live at night is quite amazing. Every color under the rainbow and more can be seen while you’re enjoying your Q here. It’s actually quite romantic here under a slightly cold and clear night. But you’re not here to read about the story line of a soap opera right? You want to hear my take on this Northern California chain making mouthwatering BBQ right? So, what’s on the menu? Kinder’s famous Ball Tip Sandwich, a must get along with some of their extra hot BBQ sauce. Their ball tip sandwich is made from ball tip, the more flavorful part of the sirloin. Though it’s a leaner cut, it doesn’t sacrifice for flavor. This sandwich does already come with their mild BBQ sauce but I like the kick in their extra hot version. Who doesn’t like a kick or two and wake up their senses? Other items on the menu includes House Specialty Hand Chopped Sandwich, BBQ Brisket Sandwich, BBQ Pork Shoulder, Rotisserie Chicken all having that nice aroma of smoke and balance of sweetness in each taste. Kinder slow smoke their meats for 17 hours over hickory. I love hickory, the flavor is not as strong as mesquite and not as mild as apple wood. Always a great goto choice if you were home smoking yourself. To add to your meal, the usual southern sides such as slow smoked beans, Honey Cheddar Cornbread, Horseradish Slaw, and Fire roasted Mac N Cheese. My absolute favorite here for the side was the Cornbread. It was slightly sweet and crispy on the top, and flavorful and moist on the inside. You can also find corn kernels inside for an added punch of the corn taste. Ah, southern goodness. Kinder’s Smokehouse officially opened on 1÷28÷15. Lee Zeidman, the President of Staples Center and Brian Leffler, VP of Kinder’s attended this official launch and ribbon cutting ceremony. Of course, they were also joined by Luc Robitaille, LA King’s macot Bailey, and everyone else who made this partnership possible. So as a home BBQ enthusiasts, this place is so good. It tastes like something that I would’ve slaved over for a day. It easily replaces the usual concession foods you’ll find at the sports games if you are not craving the usual dogs and burgers. So come and give this place a try the next time you’re inside the Staple’s center and you’ll thank me later.

Are you kidding me? BBQ at the Staples Center? My Unilocal friend knew about a BBQ joint when we came here for a Kings game. We asked just about every usher in a red jacket in our path leading up to the outdoor patio where this BBQ joint was hiding. We rode up the elevator, directed towards the place, stood outside staring at the flames on the outside of the place. Ok, decals and pictures of flames but that tells us we have arrived. Most of the tables are taken but no lines to order. Coming early before the game has it’s benefits. The hard part now is what do I want to order? Beef or pork? Beef or pork? Pulled pork sounds really good but I always want beef brisket. Beef brisket it is for $ 13.50, comes with a really small side of BBQ baked beans and a fork. Can I get a root beer or a Coke in a refillable cup? $ 7.00 for a souvenir soda. Pay the lady and step aside to wait for your order. It was like we brought the line with us, ears are perked as we were ordering. Brought it all back down to our seats at the Première level. Yes I know we could have ordered food from our seats. Could you have someone run up to the BBQ joint for us? I didn’t think so. My friend ordered the pulled pork and that was tasty. My beef brisket made into a sandwich was even better. It has great smoky flavor profiles and a small smoke ring. I normally take a sandwich or burger with two hands and make the biggest mess possible trying to take a bite. Cannot do that in the seats with BBQ sauce already falling with the brisket into the tray. Let me just finish up this review by saying I had to finish up this sandwich pretty quick as the game was just as exciting as my meal. I really needed to go wash my hands and get another refill as the Première seats will not honor the refills. This is now one of two places I have to stop at when I’m inside Staples Center. We were here before the Kinder’s Smoke House sign was even put up. The receipt just says Staples Center Smoke House. Now I know where to send people to smuggle out a sandwich just for little ol’ me. Thank you in advance. I seriously doubt they would let me in just to eat.
