This 45-year-old business doesn’t have a Unilocal page yet, and it’s easy to see why, as this is a bakery and business that only Koreans(and older Koreans for the most part) go to. However: If you want to buy freshly made rice cakes(made with brown rice!) for your New Year’s rice cake soup or to make dduk bok gi(rice cake in a spicy sauce), this is where you go. If you want to buy amazing noodles made with dotori(acorn) flour, this is where you go. If you want to buy freshly made traditional dduk(Korean rice cake treats) that isn’t filled with sugar/salt/colors like at most other Korean dduk-jip(rice cake stores) and instead is all about letting the plain flavors of the rice and beans shine, this is where you go. If you want to buy freshly ground brown rice flour or sweet brown rice flour that’s lovely and healthy and moist(the flour is made from rice that’s been soaked in water and therefore slightly sprouted) and beautiful to work with, this is where you go. My mom buys both kinds of flour to make a super-delish vegan gluten-free walnut bread that is awesome with green tea(and no, you can’t have the recipe!). Brown rice dduk, excellent grilled ’til crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside: Acorn flour noodles, delicious eaten cold: Super fresh, soft, fluffy rice cakes with adzuki bean coating: There’s also great pantry items available, from the freshly ground flours of various types, to dried kelp, beans, doenjang(miso’s Korean ancestor, basically), and more. For the whole grain and/or Korean food enthusiast this is a great store to get your staple goods from.
