Personally I wouldn’t recommend at all, especially if you’re just going for a trim. I went in for a 3″ trim and kept reminding the lady that I just want a trim. In the end, she cut off 6″ on her own and thinned my hair way too much. I naturally have wavy hair, and the entire time she was more concerned with having me do a straight perm the entire time. Also, the shampooing was even worse. The water was all over my face and back. She told me to remove my gown and just put on my own clothes since«we’re done.» She didn’t even bother covering my clothes with the gown to protect my clothes. In the end, my back was wet, my hair was greasy with the overuse of serum, and the length was absolutely terrible. I don’t know what other people experienced, but today was absolutely disappointing regarding other Unilocal reviews. If you’re going for a short style though… Go for it.

Kate did a fantastic job with my haircut. The salon is very clean and Kate was very attentive to what I wanted. This review is pretty late and I’m already due for another haircut. Regular cut is 35 bucks that includes wash and style. Can’t beat that price!

Garbage people. No talent. They get mad if you for styles. Went in. Asked for Mohawk. They gave me a fade, asked them to fix it, and they literally said, «too bad.»

Cheap, but cheaper service. She demanded me to say sorry when I asked to cut a little bit more. 15% tip and never got any greetings when I left(which seemed intentional to me).

Kate did a dye, treatment, color and style for a very reasonable price– took me in as soon as I walked in! I was apprehensive about the area but trusted her abilities. She was very accommodating to my needs and I will definitely be returning to her. Strongly recommend her.

I frequent this salon and it’s always okay. They’re a bit pushy on tips, but it’s expected based on the business genre. I’m finally writing a review because of Deborah. This woman is amazing. I don’t really like talking to stylists because it’s so fake and it’s nonsense small talk. Deborah made me feel so at ease and comfortable that even I got chatty. She’s the kind of person that loves what she does and gets you amazing results. As a woman that’s not as feminine as most women, I got exactly what I was looking for. I went in wanting to try something new and a cut that would get me excited about doing my hair and that’s exactly what I got. Deborah was so interactive and excited that she passed her joy onto me. I left the salon feeling like I had just received some star treatment. Thank you Deborah for making my experience wonderful! I will definitely be going back,

Kate never disappointed me. It’s been more than a month my hair is still looking good but needed a touch-up/recolor and I knew Kate would do the perfect job. I always left Kate hairline with my hair looking fabulous, shiny, strong and beautiful :) This place was also moderately priced and easy to find, convenient location with parking and great customer service.

I went here for a cut based on the great reviews on Unilocal.I specifically told the lady the exact length I wanted(about a 4″ trim) and that I needed to keep the length for a special event that’s coming up. I felt a little nervous when she seemed to be struggling a bit but I was like, hey how much can she mess up? I have really long hair(past my chest). Wrong. She chopped off my hair and the shortest part of my hair is now hitting the back of my neck. I told her how long I wanted, that I didn’t want a ton of layers… but she ultimately ignored all that. i don’t know where we went wrong. I was unhappy with my cut and told her that she cut my hair too short. The owner scurried to my side and commented how beautiful it was. Yeah, sure. But what can I do? I can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube, what’s cut is cut. I paid($ 35, not bad but is it?), gave her a tip, and left. Don’t get me wrong — the ladies seemed nice and maybe they were having an off day. But would I go back? No. Would I recommend this place to my friends? Heck No. Well not unless i hate them or they say things like, hey your hair looks like a rat gnawed it off(my mom actually said this to me *sob*). I guess my hair will grow back and life will go on. Lesson learned? Yes, don’t fall for terrific reviews on Unilocal if that’s the only thing they’ve written. Another lesson learned? Yes, castor oil will help hair grow faster(fingers crossed).

I’m new to the neighborhood & discovered this place on Unilocal, happened to drop by on a Sunday. Waited a half hour or so, but that’s because I didn’t have an appointment and there were several people in front of me. The waiting room is comfy and was stocked with magazines and water. I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door, and offered refreshments. I was a little nervous, because I can’t say anything other than ‘hi’ in Korean, but my stylist was Lisa, who speaks both English & Korean. She listened to what I was looking for and made my hair dreams come true. The cut was only $ 30 for a wash, cut, & blow-dry(I had shoulder length hair clipped to a chin length).

What a steal! -$ 35 for wash, cut, style for long hair — robin is a great stylist.(Lady with short blonde bob) — clean facilities — 2nd floor at Vermont plaza. Across the street from sizzler — they speak English — cash preferred as always. But they accept card.

It was my first time here, was looking thru Unilocal for a new hair salon and something that’s open on Sundays. They’re open 7 days a week. Guess I found my new hair salon on Sundays. My hair stylist was Lisa. She speaks both English and Korean. Lisa was very professional top notch. I would say. She studied my figure and to see which style would fit me best. She uses mainly scissors rather the clippers. Which I personally like. Most korean places uses clippers to make it quick. Lisa is easy to talk to, friendly and very accommodating. She’s cute too haha. :), If you want Lisa come on a Sunday and make sure you make an appointment. Prices are cheap aswell $ 10-$ 15 for men’s hair and women for $ 25. The business is very clean. My cut price was $ 15 but since Lisa did an amazing cut, I tipped her $ 15. :)

Kate the owner gave me a terrible haircut. Prior to the haircut, I specifically told her about a sensitive area on my head that needs to be cut carefully to prevent it from protruding out as the area does not grow hair from an accident and remarked that she understood. Fast forward to the end of the cut and the result couldn’t have been more disastrous. I repeatedly explained to her through out the cut that my hair was pressed down and didn’t represent its natural look, but insisted she was an expert and knew what she was doing. By the end of it(post wash) my hair looked like a patch of grass that wasn’t cut evenly — not only was the area I warned her about protruding, but my front was so uneven that I have a long layer of hair facing down. To make matters worse, she kept pushing the side of my head away from the mirror, so that I wouldn’t get a good look and tried to disguise it by blowing hot air down on it. I remained civil in spite of how dissatisfied I was, but will definitely not be coming back for round 2. Calling her cuts mediocre is my way of being nice.

I’m new to the neighborhood and needed to find a new haircut place. Boy did I luck out. These guys were great and so eager to please. Skye was the stylist who helped me. Probably one of the best haircuts I’ve had in LA, and definitely the most reasonably priced. I’ll be back there again for my next cut.
