Lots of good things to say about this place and only a few negative things they can fix. Been coming here for 8 years or so, despite the name & price changes, same great food, deals and owner. The fly traps, homeless people and ac is the only faults here. Easy fixes. Love the food, very juicy white meat chicken, great beans(love the spicy beans) and best of all the fact i can buy hard taco shells, white man loves his crunchy tacos!

It is in a convenience location, near the Edward Roybal Comprehensive Health Center. It offers fresh, tasty, affordable Hispanic dishes. The place is clean, the workers clean the tables and the floor when needed. They also offer wet naps to their customers. I enjoyed my Tostada Combo, with a chicken tostada, a small potato salad, and a horchata. It is a nice place to go by yourself, or with family, friends, colleagues. Believe it or not, I saw three sheriff officers dinning over there, when I was there this Tuesday.

So this place has changed its name and from other reviews they’ve increased their prices by 40% but they lost their mind by 100! so me my husband and 4 year old daughter went to have dinner we wanted to get a quesadilla mind you in a Mexican restaurant and they said that they couldn’t make it so obvious because they only make them on Tuesdays and Thursdays it’s a Wednesday they have beans they have cheese and they have tortillas but they can’t make you a quesadilla on a Wednesday? ridiculous!

We love this place! The potato salad is the best not tangy like some potatoes salads just the way my family likes it. The chicken is great. I love that they cater and you are able to order for big gatherings.

When they changed their name they jacked up their prices significantly, 40% I believe and they even had a sign saying their prices had gone up. They still give you plenty but I have noticed the portions have shrank a bit. Last time I was there my favorite beverage was out of order which again is pretty inexcusable if you’re going to jack the prices as high as they have. The food is still good. I’ve noticed the other Juan POLLO restaurants don’t put too many onions in their rice. This place goes fairy hog wild on their onions in the rice which I’m not a fan of. Still their chicken is quite top notch.

I love the food here. The food is clean, after you eat you don’t feel heavy. The food is not greasy. I recommend the half chicken plate. It’s enough food without making you feel heavy. The chicken is so juicy and I really love the potato salad.

New owner. New name. The yummy potato salad, GONE. The delicious rice, GONE. So you’re hoping they can’t mess up rotisserie chicken, right? WRONG. Chicken is so greasy and nasty. Instant stomach ache with the amount of oil and grease on this«rotisserie» chicken. Paid $ 9 for a simple lunch but would’ve been better off not eating. You’ve been warned, this is no longer the Juan Pollo we used to know. Run!

Chicken has great flavor and prices are great. Potato salad is a must! You can either eat there or take it to go. The name has changed but it is the same owner and the food tastes the same as before when it was called Juan pollo. If you’re near by the area you should stop by and grab there lunch specials!

I’ve had their chicken burrito with potato salad and it’s very fulfilling. Today I tried their chicken lunch special for under $ 9. Great price and it feeds two people! Can’t wait to return here.

I really like this place. One way I assume if a local restaurant is good is when I notice local police officers frequenting the premises. This place is a local watering hole for not only those who are sworn to protect and to serve, but a variety of people from various demographics. Not a usual spot for the hipster crowd, but real food for real people. Don’t know what they do to the chicken, but I imagine food in heaven will taste like the outside seasoning of this here chicken. It transcends normal worldly flavors and allows me to enter into a state of joy, harmony, and peace. The rice is beautifully yellow with hints of chicken flavors gushing from it along with the bonus chicken pieces that surprise you in almost every bite. For those expecting American sides, please note the name is not John’s chicken. It’s Juan’s chicken so I hope it can be assumed this chicken has a Latin influence. The salsa should be another dead give away. The salsa, tortilla, and chicken is the perfect blend of fresh, savory, salty, meaty, tangy goodness that my mouth and tongue always thanks me for whenever I feed it a fresh made taco. This particular location has a salsa bar, so you can eat to your heart’s content. This place will always have a place in my heart. It’s not a five star restaurant but Juan’s chicken deserves every bit of the five stars rating in my humble opinion. Check it out and rate it yourself.

Go here for lunch now and then. Good food good prices. Nothing fancy but good portions and cole slaw is great. Chicken is always juicy and hot when you get it. My only complaint is the plastic utensils they can do better than the spork thing you are given. How about a better plastic fork.

I came here with my family a few days ago, after a long day of shopping with my baby brother. We picked up my sister in DTLA and decided to come all the way over here because my dad had tried it at work and thought we would love it. Well here’s the thing: If you are selling chicken it makes sense to have mashed potatoes for an option as a side right??? Ok no, they didn’t have it… Then I thought to my self, Mac n cheese would do it… Not an option. Wow my sister was pissed since she is the one that requested for those two. Anyways, we ended giving them a chance and took a family combo with beans, rice, and potato salad. It was alright except for the beans I feel like they weren’t even smashed good how my family likes them. The chicken is good alone, so were the flour tortillas. My family and I were not satisfied with the sides. Hopefully they will add if to their menu soon because my dad said when they catered for his job they had all those delicious sides.

The lunch Special Plate is the best. The prices are under ten bucks and unlimited fountain drinks. They have a nice Salsa Bar from mild to hot. The location has plenty of indoor seating and a couple of televisions which are usually on. There is plenty of parking. If your on the run from the Police, don’t eat here because law enforcement is constantly eating here. Bottom line this is a great place to eat.

Get the chicken bowl. The burritos are fat. They have lots of free salsa. Free refills and lots of parking. The name has changed but it’s the same food. They also cater. Eat it inside for maximum freshness. Great service.

Not bad at all. Came here after the gym looking for something, low fat, low carb, high protein… The chicken itself was pretty tasty. Very tender, and only a small part of the breast was a little bit dry. Everything else was very flavorful and tender. I did not eat the skin but I did try a little bit of it and it was good. Salsa bar is pretty good… There are mild/hot options for the pico and the salsa. I wish they had a few more options like guac or avocado salsa like el pollo loco. Price is pretty cheap too. Cost me $ 8.12 for the half chicken dinner special which comes with ½ chicken, beans, potato salad, rice and a drink. I opted to skip the potato salad and rice for a side salad which was a plate of watery shredded lettuce, some shredded cheese, a few tomato slices, and nasty looking diced olives(i hate olives). Restaurant was pretty clean and the one worker was friendly.

Good chicken, an alternative to Pollo Loco — however this is the only JP I know that is in the LA vicinity — so making the trip means that you really want to have some. Your selections are limited — basically, it’s just chicken. The best deal is on Sunday, the day of my visit. For $ 15 you get two whole chickens, tortillas and salsa. That is a great deal. I was able to feed 6 people with this and there were even left-overs. One thing to note is that they are changing their name, from Juan Pollo to Juan Chicken — why? I really don’t know. I just hope they don’t change their Sunday special.
