History
Established in 1996.
Having a Masters in clinical psychology as well as being a registered Yoga teacher is not only beneficial to my clients, but offers them many more choices than if I was working from one modality alone. I am not against medication when needed. I am all about offering alternative ways to manage stress, depression and anxiety. Also, for many years I have worked with adolescents in foster care and the juvenile justice system helping to facilitate the family to discover new ways of coping with stress, and to empower them to want to have a better, more balanced life.

My approach to therapy is generally Cognitive Behavioral which gives the client tools that help them utilize their physical, emotional and spiritual resources to empower their lives and feel better. I integrate my experience and training in clinical psychology with a forty year dedication to my Yoga and meditation practice, creating a nurturing and caring space where clients can feel safe to explore the causes of their personal and professional conflicts.
I found that teaching a depressed client the «breath of fire» enables them to leave that dark area of feeling bad about themselves to a place of detachment where they not only feel better, but are able to make better choices in how they go about treating their depression.
In addition I have found that teaching any number of «grounding» breaths to one who is anxious brings them into their body where they are no longer disassociating and their feelings of anxiety are dissolved or lessened.
