JJ’s Hand Car Wash

I have been bringing my car here for the past year or so. Now that the name and Ownership has changed to LUX Auto Spa the quality has improved. They do a great job of hand washing including getting the brake dust off my wheels. They take their time drying every inch of the car and use compressed air to blow out the seams and grill.
This isn’t a fast 15 minute in and out wash, the crew here takes their time to give you a top notch wash for the price.

Very well done exterior detail and paint treatment on my Tacoma.
My shampoo on the interior was the best cleaning on the carpet I have ever had. I’ve gone to other places and they tell me that some stains or discoloration wouldn’t come out, but these guys made the carpet look like close to new.
The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is that the price of $ 450 is kind of steep. I still had to wipe down my own window that had interior dressing wiped over it and the seats of my truck has a few spots. For $ 450 I would think that they should be removed.
Last, the one thing I asked was for no tire dressing because it splatters on the side of my truck as I have over sized wheels.
Aside from that, best clean job I’ve had and would expect for the price. 5 stars if they would’ve gotten a few spots out and cleaned the Windows.

I’ve been bringing my car since it became Lux Auto Spa — So this review is about Lux Auto Spa: I love the service they give to me and my Audi. The service is accurate for what they charge. I like the pressure wash, the fact that the facility is covered so no water spots appear while the staff dries your vehicle. I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes to get my car washed but that’s because I can come during their off hours … So I have no complaints on the waiting time. Staff is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I’ve been to other cheaper hand wash cars — sure they are cheaper — but so is the quality. I’d rather pay someone well for a job well done which is what you get at Lux Auto Spa.

Good for the price. They took their time to dry every inch of the car. Do not go if you are in a hurry. 30 minutes minimum

JJ’s Hand Wash is now Lux Auto Spa, and despite the slight increase in cost, it’s very worth it. The service is much better, switching from a ‘get them in and out” to a slower-​paced, customer-​focused type of experience.
Changes are also being made to create an indoor waiting area among other enhancement.

I used to come here when I lived in Highland Park. Was always impressed with the work done here. I since moved to E Hollywood (unfortunately) and haven’t been here in a while. Birds have parties over my current parking spot so I’ve started needing regular car washes again. Tried a few places around town and they just weren’t that great. Once I treated my car to a full-​on premium detail that cost $ 200 and left my car very clean but nothing amazing. So i came back here to JJ’s. I guess it’s changed owners, though that wasn’t immediately apparent to me. First time back here taught me this is the only car wash I’ll ever come to in LA. For $ 16+tip my car was cleaned nearly as well as that $ 200 detail. These guys really do a great job cleaning, drying, vacuuming and dusting. No spots/​streaks on the glass, each little nook attended to. It takes awhile, 20 minutes if there’s no one ahead of you (add 20 minutes for every car in line before you), but the results are worth it. Bring your lunch and a book, drive home in a car that looks 10 years younger.

This use to be JJ’s but has gone under new ownership and is called «LUX». Driving in is typical as you would for JJ’s, everyone is nice… except the new ownership really goes the extra mile for customer service and for my visit. I was immediately greeted by the manager which was nice. The price is great for everything you get. I paid 25 for extra interior cleaning. It was a very windy cold crisp morning and the inside lobby (that will be new and awesome) is not here yet so the owner comforted me (I was freezing!!!) and gave me a chair to sit in the detailing/​tint area… The manager noticed I was still cold and was so nice enough to lend me his jacket!!! My car is spotless and feels brand new. The whole experience of my car getting clean and them taking care of their customer really stood out!!!

So this place has a NEW OWNER/​NAME and so on it’s called the «LUX auto spa». I’m not sure how the experience was before but this place is something I like and not many hand car wash out there. It’s a bit of a wait because of the way they pamper the car you have. To me at $ 16 dollars for a hand car wash is a great price. Henry Avila is the operations manager and was very nice in how he explained how the place works. Anthony Shores is the Facility Manager is great friendly and a very helpful person told me more about how they want you to have the experience of having you’re car wash the way you would do at home yes and when I wash my car I make sure my car is clean and so on. They also do window tint and car audio!!! It’s a one stop shop!
So I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for the old fashion style of car wash where THEY do it by hand and make sure it’s clean. The price is great and would I come here again. Mod Def!!! Thanks and keep up the great work!!!

NEW OWNER/​NAME — LUX Auto Spa
I didn’t wash my car for most of the summer, but I went back to good ol’ JJ’s recently and immediately noticed an all new staff and business name/​logo.
I agree with some of the recent reviewers that they were definitely taking their time washing and drying the cars. I spoke with the new manager (owner?) for quite a while and I guess he’s really pushing the staff to be more detail oriented and wants to move in the direction of offering a more «high end» experience. thus, longer wait. So, if you’re looking to be in and out, I would highly suggest going somewhere else.
I won’t go into detail about how they wash the car again because I did that in my first review, but I’ll just say they kept everything the same and it’s a true hand wash WITHOUT using those disgusting industrial scrubbing machines and they take considerable care in drying the car off.
This still remains my go-​to car wash and what I would consider the best value in LA.

They’ve done an excellent job on 2 separate cars for me. They even offered me a ride to work if I needed it. Very pleased with the work and service.

Slow as molasses with the new owners and it is not because they spend extra time on the car. They decreased staff significantly and there is a ton of chit chat and idle time with no one working on the car. Who has time to spend an hour at a car wash? Not me.

Charged a hell of a lot and I’m not really sure it was worth. Looked like regular detailing and nothing above it.

First question. Why is there no damn prices posted. First experience, I pulled up and waited a good 3 –4 mins before anyone approached me. Though every employee made eye contact with me. This place is slow. Real slow. The job ended up being decent but not good enough for me to return. I won’t be returning.

Damn what happened to this place? The price of a wash and wax has doubled to $ 25.00. Used to be $ 12.00 for a wash and wax plus $ 2.00 for the tire dressing. I was trying to hint at that same deal, and while I saw different prices with hashes written down on the paper in front of him, he said something bizarre like «yes, with the previous owner it was $ 12 for friends and family for a wash and a little bit of the interior». What does this mean? They only vacuumed part of the car? I was neither friend or family of the previous owner and always paid $ 12. Nonetheless, although it was apparent that he had sold $ 12 car washes by the paper he had in front of him, I decided to go with the $ 25 wash. Terrible job. Liquid all over my steering wheel. Bird poop still on the outside. More money more for a bad job. Done with this place.

This place does just above the bare minimum to get the job done and that’s about it.
It’s always busy, as there are no other options close by. You have to point out the streaks and drips and areas that didn’t get vacuumed before you pull off.
We recently paid $ 135 for a SUV detail (minus the interior shampoo which would have raised the cost $ 200).
I should’ve known better since I’m already dissatisfied with their basic carwash service.
I was hoping that they would do a better job with the detail… and they didn’t!
That’s the last dollar I’m putting into JJ’s pocket.

Not a large place so when it’s busy there is a long wait. Please note there is not a lot of space to wait. Waited in a line on the side street. Thankfully the side street wasn’t in a high traffic area. Staff was nice.
$ 20 for exterior & interior wash. Also included rim dressing. Though they seemed throughout, there were A LOT of OBVIOUS streaks and spots that they didn’t clean. I pointed out a couple obvious streaks and they cleaned it. However, they didn’t make an effort to clean the other obvious spots. Didn’t have the patience to make them address each spot they missed. I mean, come on! It’s not like they can’t see it. Won’t bring my car here again.

I’m going to be honest. This place did a very bad job. A friend recommended this place to me and I drove away very disappointed.
I wasn’t given much of a choice on what the wash offered in services. As I waited I watched all the other cars getting wash and I saw a lot of really poor jobs driving out. I saw water spots and trickles of undried water dripping down the sides of cars, some customers not tipping, and wrong usage of equipment. There was a guy using a compressed air hose to shoot dirty water out of the hood of the car onto a streaky dry window. He never used the air too shoot the dust out of the car. When it actually came to getting my car, the mats were wet and dirty. My mirrors and windows were all smeared and streaky. The interior of my car was really dusty and the upholstery was a lot dirtier than when I went in to the wash. I was so disappointed with the quality of service that I got home and wiped and waxed the car and even cleaned and vacuumed the interior of my car.
I will never return to this place. The friend that recommended this place spoke so highly of this place. I could’ve done a better job than waste $ 16.

This place rocks. I’ve taken multiple cars here over the year, and I’m never disappointed. I usually go on Wednesday for their «Ladies Day» special, $ 2 off. They always hook me up with a free vacuum and interior clean too. Well done guys!

It’s hard finding good places to get your car washed, especially because of lack of customer service. So happy the search is over…
I initially went for the $ 12 regular car wash deal, but my car was so dirty that I figured a detailed interior and exterior car wash could be worth the $ 20. Sooo worth the gamble!
Everything’s by hand and they work really hard to give you what you’re paying for. They were really nice and I know I’m coming back

JJ’s Hand Car Wash is where I’ve been bringing my car for a wash for as long as I can remember. If you care about your car, then you should not subject your car to brutal car wash machines that cause dings and scratches. It’s all hand wash, and they take care of you and your car. And when they’re done, your car comes out with a shine.
A regular wash for cars is $ 12, +$ 2 for tire dressing. They get really busy on the weekends, but it takes just as long on the weekdays as they have half the staff working. Expect 20 – 30 minutes.
