Jason S Cohen, MD

Dr. Jason Cohen is amazing, and was such a blessing when I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery at Cedars-​Sinai. He is wonderfully warm and humorous, and very professional and great at building trust and confidence with his patients. I had a newborn at home and wanted to get home as quickly as possible, so after a very lengthy and frustrating ER experience, Dr. Cohen helped expedite both the gall bladder surgery and the follow-​up surgery that was required. He was an answer to so many prayers, and I am so grateful that he is the surgeon that was assigned to my case!

I wanted to update my review of Dr. Cohen, it’s been four months since my surgery and he still goes above and beyond what I have ever hoped for. He is patient, caring, and very reassuring. He spends a lot of time with you, goes over all your questions or concerns and never rushes you. He has been great. Would absolutely highly recommend him as a surgeon. He calls, he follows up, he spends time with you and I barely have a scar. What more you could you want?

Dr. Cohen is one of the most energetic doctors I have ever met. He is very supportive and caring. He asks many questions to seek out the best intervention! He is simply amazing and funny. Thank you Dr. Cohen!

Top notch Doctor. Dr. Cohen is very thorough, very friendly, and cares a lot about his patients! The staff here is super friendly — you can tell that they enjoy working here. After a simple hernia surgery went terribly awry and the surgeon refused to accept responsibility, luckily for me I was recommended to Dr. Jason Cohen. I arrived in his office in tears and was immediately enveloped into his world of extreme medical professionalism tempered with loving and concerned care. Unlike other surgeons who simply want to cut, Dr. Cohen heard my pleas and investigated every avenue possible to avoid another operation, all the while seeing me on a weekly basis to monitor my care and offering possible solutions. He treated my husband, who was my primary caregiver, as a trusted friend and respected colleague. He taught my husband how to flush my drains and measure their outputs, pack my incisions and administer IV antibiotics among many other tasks.
And when the time came and there was no other option but surgery, he was right by my side, always optimistic and never too busy to listen to my husband or my concerns. When I requested he use a particular anesthesiologist, even though I could only provide him with her description and not her name, he inquired and found her and made sure she was there to take care of me as well.
Sad to say but after that, I had to undergo an additional surgery, but having Dr. Jason Cohen there with me, made me feel reassured that all would be well.
And here I am, one year after my last surgery, and Dr. Jason Cohen still sees me on a regular basis. And unlike other doctors who consider their patients merely a name and number, when you enter Dr. Jason Cohen’s office, the first thing he wants to do is enter into a dialogue with you, and find out how you are and how life has been treating you. And unlike other physicians who are so specialized they cannot see their patients as total human beings and only for the minute portion of the body they may be treating, Dr. Jason Cohen wants to have a total picture of his patients’ health. He is in regular contact with all my other doctors and insists on reviewing all medical tests taken, even if they have nothing to do with what he may be treating me for.
On top of that, Dr. Jason Cohen even goes the extra mile and knowing my love for Butterfinger candy bars, always has them in his office waiting for me when I arrive.
Thank you Dr. Jason Cohen, you are indeed a lifesaver.

My experience with Dr. Jason S. Cohen has truly been a blessing. He was very kind, understanding and most importantly very professional. He has given me a chance to be a healthy woman once again, he is an artist in my eyes and I thank him for being amazing at what he does. Surgery went better than expected and recovery is much more pleasant than I expected.
