Guitar lessons for ALL levels by a working Professional. Adults or kids. Age 6 and up. I’m a former member of Lindsey Buckingham’s (from Fleetwood Mac) solo band, Meredith Brooks, Air Supply, and more. I was also a student of the legendary Randy Rhoads. I’m a working/​touring musician all over the world, and compose for TV and film. I teach all styles– Electric or Acoustic guitar– rock/​hard rock/​blues/​folk/​pop/​alt. We can work on specific songs, scales, chord technique, finger picking, strum technique, solo/​lead riffs, and even your own songwriting. If you’re a singer-​songwriter or in a band, I can help you with your songs and guitar playing and get you ready for any gig or session or audition you might have. Or, if you just want to tighten up your playing or learn some new stuff, I can help you with that. Professional, clear and straight forward, you will learn fast and retain it forever. and most of all be inspired!

Music audiences around the world have seen and heard Janet Robin’s incredible guitar work as a former touring member of the Lindsey Buckingham Band (Fleetwood Mac), Michelle Shocked, Meredith Brooks, and Air Supply. As a youngster, she was a lucky student of the legendary Randy Rhoads. Her abilities as a guitarist have garnered the admiration of many including Michelle Shocked who called Janet «One of the best guitarists in the country: male or female.» Guitar World Magazine named her «One of the top 10 female guitarists.» She has shared the stage with Monte Montgomery, Heart, Tommy Emmanuel, Colin Hay, John Waite, and more. Her latest cd, «Everything Has Changed,”-produced by John Carter Cash (Johnny and June’s son) was released in Europe and USA and she continues to tour internationally. Janet recently taught actress Jennifer Jason Leigh for 2 mos on location for Quentin Tarantino’s new film, «The Hateful Eight.» Her loyal fans and students are a testament to her dedication.

Janet has been a great help for my daughter. She makes learning guitar enjoyable. She is very patient and knowledgeable. My daughter had only picked up the guitar a month before her first class. After a few lessons she had learn some basic chords. After a few months she had started playing songs. Although she has shown progress, we like Janet most of all for the motivation and enjoyment that my daughter is experiencing.

My 11 years old daughter is Janet’s student. After 6 lessons she can play tailor swift’s song. She is an encouraging, knowledgable and kind teacher i have ever seen. She knows how to teach younger students so they stay interested. Janet made nikki’s dream of being able to play guitar come true. And it is some enjoyment that will last for a life time.

Do not go to another guitar teacher.

I’ve been playing guitar for around ten years and have been taking lessons from Janet for eight. It has been a fantastic experience being her student. She is immensely talented, patient, honest, and very easy to get along with. I have had fantastic opportunities as a guitar player that have included playing live performances and meeting many likeminded and talented musicians and it is thanks in large part to her influence. As a player, I have seen my playing go places I never thought it would. I’ve studied at Berklee and am currently recording an EP. Thanks to her technical tutelage and ability to help me discover and nurture my own style whilst learning many others across many different genres, I am extremely proud to be a student of hers.

Janet has been teaching both of my kids guitar for over 5 years. They both are playing great and really enjoying it! Janet is patient and an excellent technical instructor. She is reliable and comes to our house to teach, which makes things much easier for the kids who have a lot going on. We allowed our 10-​year-​old daughter to pick her instrument and after much consternation she chose guitar this summer with these stipulations: a female instructor, private lessons, acoustic guitar. Luckily, we found Janet. She meets all of the criteria and more. My daughter never complains about weekly lessons (an hour!), is learning chords and songs, and actually practices without reminding. Janet is patient, positive and entertaining. She’s great at breaking up the lesson with fun songs, more difficult finger picking and just jamming together. Now my daughter is reading music and listening to songs on the radio with an ear towards translating the song to guitar. Most importantly, Janet is teaching my daughter to love playing music. She is a great role model and I’m thrilled that such a talented musician is working with my daughter.
