InterContinental Los Angeles Century City

Very nice hotel staff at the bars, valet and in the rooms, but the front desk staff is quite unaccommodating. Not to mention, for the price, the rooms leave a lot to be desired. The balcony is very nice though.
Forgot to mention, valet parking is pretty expensive and you don’t have the option to park on the streets.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. The staff is just simply amazing and so very helpful. They give great recommendations on this to do in and around the area. The hotel just simply made you feel at home. There’s no judgement on what you look like or where you come from. This is just one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at!

I did a lot of research before finally settling on a hotel for my trip. Read a bunch of reviews, compared prices & areas before finally choosing the Intercontinental in century city.
Let me tell you, i made the right choice! The service was the best part: prompt, and genuinely friendly. From the valet, to the bell men & the front desk associates. Everyone was warm, professional, & made us feel right at home. Not to mention the room was a nice size & the balcony offered a perfect view. Well worth the price!

We had a great experience here. The hotel is lovely and conveniently located. Views from balconies are spectacular.
Spa service was great. Restaurant had excellent food and great service. It was my husbands birthday and they sent a cupcake to the room which was a nice gesture!

We came here to use the spa, which was good, I would give the spa 4 stars, but then we went to have lunch at the lounge downstairs. First, the waitress was not nice at all. I asked her if they have a salad since it wasn’t on the menu, she said they could do Caesar with chicken or steak. So we got one with chicken and one steak. I specifically asked for dressing on the side but when the order came out (40 minutes later because the waitress was busy having a 10 minute convo with the table next to us) my salad was drenched in dressing. I told her I had asked for it on the side and she just laughed and said oh yea you did. That was it. No offer to bring me a new one, no offer to put it on the house, no offer to at least take off my coffee from the bill for making a mistake. For health conscious people, a salad drenched in dressing is hardly healthy anymore.
When she finally brought out the check, we were charged $ 30 just for 10 stalks of lettuce, an additional $ 8 for the chicken and additional $ 18 for the steak which was 4 tiny pieces. Don’t you think you should let people know you’re gonna charge them $ 33 for lettuce and 4 tiny pieces of steak before you do? Especially since we were only at the lounge for lunch and the menu ran between $ 10 – 12. It basically cost more than the burger. It’s not about the prices as much as it’s about not being informed. Or make us aware that it’s an ADDITIONAL cost for having meat on the side?! We get massages often but the lounge experience was so terrible, we will not be returning even for the spa.

Intercontinental, the top end of IHG, it’s good, it really is.
But if we are being 100% honest here the intercontinental century city is not quite 5 star, it’s good it’s very good but it’s not perfect. Why you ask? There is rust where there shouldn’t be, cracks in grout, dulled chrome. It’s a nice place but those little details are missing. Another thing, the amenities are not up to the 5 star level. Shampoo, conditioner, lotion and soap… I think I’ve had the same Lemon verbena at a Holiday Inn express (not a bad thing, but not a compliment)
But hey lets get past that, rooms are pretty darn good. All of the rooms have balconies so that’s pretty neat. I do wish I’d had a westward facing room but didn’t know that until it was too late. The room is nice, definitely going to fit the stereotype «LA hotel» look, greys and purple. It’s nice, but a bit passé. If you watch «Flip or Flop» the really bland wife looks like she decorated the place.
Wow, it sounds like I didn’t like the Intercontinental Century City, but seriously the place is alright. It’s better than a holiday inn, but it’s not on the Ritz level, too bad.

Very private spot in century city if it was not windy day it will be perfect. Love the view.

I alerted the valet about the issues and he largely blew me off with «I’m sorry YOU find these to be not good standards.» He gave me manager’s card Adey Adewinmbi and said that I would be called about unsatisfactory experience. NO CALL.
When I checked out I was not asked if I had a nice stay or even thanked for my business. Front desk clerk just asked me to sign a room charge and then stared at me. Didn’t Crack a smile. Nothing
This place has a captive audience 8n the people that are here on business in Century City.
For the price, I recommend the Beverly Hilton or Mr. C

This was the first time coming to the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City for a work meeting. I’m much more familiar with one of my favorite LA hotels, the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza down the street, but the Intercontinental, although not as extravagant, was lovely and perfect for a business conference. Banquet service was super efficient during the entire conference and our buffet lunch served outside on the lawn was excellent (various salads, pasta, chicken, soups and desserts galore). I found the lobby visually nice with a modern flare and attractive color that included pink accents that worked nicely for the interior. Conveniently located on Avenue of The Stars and close to Beverly Hills, West LA and fabulous Century City restaurants close by, the Intercontinental is not only perfect for business functions but a great choice of stay even when on vacation.

I haven’t stayed in this hotel but went here for drinks and apps. I had a good time, drinks were stiff and the server was attentive. My main review is about the menu. Yes, menu. A fine hotel such as this should NOT have 4 glutten free choices. I guess to each it’s own but I wasn’t impressed with a scribbled pen to identify what the gluten free choices were.
drink prices are exactly how the drinks were. STIFF. lol. Enjoy Intercontinental but just a note to whomever is selecting the menu/​food items please get some additional gluten free choices our health depends upon it.

Our friend Ava B. came to town for a quick business trip, and Matt B. and I had a short window in which to see her, between 9:30 and bedtime on a Thursday night. This is how we ended up drinking at a hotel in Century City – not my usual go-​to, but I was reasonably happy with the Intercontinental lobby bar. (This Unilocal review, incidentally, is for the bar only, so for actual useful hotel reviews, move on.)
The bar was fairly busy for a weeknight, but not at all crowded. We were able to get a table for three with ease. It was a comfortable spot, and there was table service. Our waiter was super nice. The bar was out of the first two drinks I tried to order (barrel-​aged cocktails I guess they’d run out of without updating the menu), and he was so warm and apologetic that I wasn’t even annoyed. I ended up getting a Side Pony, which was pretty decent, a spicy cocktail with Herradura Silver tequila, Ancho Reyes, lime, agave nectar, and jalapeño. Matt got the Boulevardier, a barrel-​aged drink made with an Angel’s Envy whiskey blend specific to the Intercontinental L.A. for some reason, mixed with Carpano Antica and Campari. Very smooth and tasty. We drank slowly, munched on bar nuts, and caught up for a couple hours. It was really a wonderful evening.
It was Ava’s first time in L.A., and while we did our best to emphasize that the Intercontinental in Century City was not particularly representative of our town, we at least had some fun at the bar. The big downside, other than but related to its Century City hotelness, was the valet parking, which, with validation, came out to a whopping $ 8 for two hours. Still, well worthwhile. If you or a very busy dear friend are staying at this hotel, you could do worse than to drink at the bar.

For our anniversary I wanted a weekend in Beverly Hills in a 5 star hotel.
Being frugal we went with a hidden hotel deal and landed here, not exactly the 90 210 zipcode, but the service and amenities more than made up for that and I am very glad we stayed here.
Service was exceptional all around, they really want to make sure you are enjoying your stay and will go above and beyond.
Driver service available free of charge into Beverly Hills, fluffy towels, robes and slippers for every guest.
The hotel has been updated so still has that brand new smell to it.
Beautiful décor, you can tell they went for quality all around and pay attention to all details.
Spacious rooms, we even had a nice balcony facing the Hollywood sign, loved it.
Room service was fantastic, the gym, pool and spa nice and perfectly maintained as well.
We really enjoyed every minute of our stay here and I cannot wait to return, highly recommended!

This is a beautiful hotel. Unfortunately, it is seriously tarnished by the outside agencies it has affiliated with it such as the valet parking services and the spa.
The spa was the WORST experience I have ever had. It was so awful it was almost laughable. To cap off a HORRENDOUS spa experience, when I returned to valet to get my car, they had broken my key. Luckily I noticed that the keypad was in pieces on the floor before I drove off.
I hate that the image of this spectacular hotel is brought down by these awful companies. They definitely need to consider partnering with companies that can better represent their brand and level of customer service.

(I should of went to Burke Williams) The worst spa experience ever. I wish I could give less than 1 star but 0 is not an option. No shower area, relaxing room, no changing room, no towels, no shoes etc…
(I should of went to Burke Williams) The room they put my wife in was filthy. Smelled like old cigarettes and body odor. There was a use toilet protect on the toilet in the room. They try to make it up to us and out us in another room but people who worked there kept coming in and out the room lock it was a hallway.

It wasn’t a spa it was just a decent massage at an over price hotel.
Moral of the story is I should of went to Burke Williams.

This particular Intercontinental is located kind of at the crossroads between Beverly Hills, Culver City and West Hollywood and is backing directly into the Fox Studios. The hotel is nicely decorated, smells great and has a bit of elegance to it, which is cool. The service was pretty solid, friendly upon check in, accommodating to requests and helpful with valet etc… The rooms are nicely upgraded and well appointed with modern items that are both functional and ascetically pleasing. The cool thing about this hotel is they have fairly large balconies when facing west you can see the pacific and fox studios, facing east you have some nice views of the Hollywood hills, assuming your room is on a high enough floor. Overall, not a bad option when staying in Beverly Hills but it is a bit of a hike to go anywhere, primarily by foot but at the end of the day über is your friend…

Beim letzten Besuch hatte alles gepasst: Super Zimmer, tolle Check-​out time, aber diesmal war’s leider nur Medium: Mein Zimmer (obwohl Gold Ambassador) direkt über den Lüftungsschächten! Meine — laut Status «nach Verfügbarkeit» mögliche Late Check-​out Zeit — leider nicht verfügbar. Diesmal ist das Interconti Century City für mich leider nicht die Extra-​Meile gegangen, wie beim letzten Besuch.

I’ve stayed at several Intercontinental hotels in the past, and this one was definitely the least exciting. You are paying for the view here, not luxurious accommodations. I stayed in a westward facing studio suite on the 15^th floor. The view, all the way out to the Pacific, was truly remarkable. It was nice to sit on our little balcony and look down at 20^th Century Fox.
The «suite» was very basic. It had an awkward sitting area with a large tv, a small bedroom, and a large bathroom. We were placed in a newly updated room, which was clean and modern, but seemed a bit lacking in décor. The bed was ultra comfortable though, which I guess is all one really needs.
The fitness room is large, but it is heavily used and in need of an update. I couldn’t believe the number of people in there on a Sunday morning. The pool area is nice, but small for the size of the hotel. It too was always very busy. The sauna and steam room were under construction during our visit (though we weren’t informed upon making our reservation, nor at check in).
The surrounding area is okay — nice and quiet. All of the shops of Beverly Hills are close, as are the restaurants on Sawtelle. My biggest gripe was with the valet. $ 41 for valet in an area that is so far from the action seems a bit silly. It didn’t help that the valet was constantly overwhelmed and it took awhile to get your car.
I don’t have a lot of experience with hotels in this specific area, but I’m guessing this one falls somewhere in the middle. You could do better, but you could also do much worse…

What do you do when you can’t afford to stay at the Ritz or the Four Seasons or any other super posh luxury hotel around the Beverly Hills area? Well you go to stay at the Intercontinental, IHG’s luxury brand.
I became a fan of the Intercontinental brand after staying at their San Francisco property for a few nights recently. After getting an email this past week about a September promotion; IHG members can receive 10,000 points for a single night stay at any IHG property. I was excited to test out the Intercontinental in Century City.
From the valet service to the housekeeping service, all the employees were professional and had the utmost respect for their guests. Everytime I interacted with an employee, a conversation either started or ended with Mr. Ma. The hotel interior and exterior was beautiful too. The Friday evening I stayed there, there were probably six to seven Ferraris or Lamborghinis parked out front. I got a recently renovated room (905), King-​size bed with a balcony. There’s nothing to complain about the room, I loved it. The bed felt like a giant foam cloud lol. Maid service also hooked it up with two free bottles of IC water.
Just a few gripes I had with my stay tho:
*The hotel service book in the room said the gift shop closed at 10 on F nights. Shop was closed after 7:45pm already, with nobody in sight.
* Hotel could actually inform their guests of the hotel car service, I didn’t know about it until I checked out the following morning. I walked a mile back and forth to the nearby shopping mall.
* $ 40+ valet vehicle overnight charge (shouldn’t be really surprised by this tho).
*Room service menu isn’t as appetizing as San Francisco’s. Plus there’s some weird 12% fee tacked onto your room service bill, and that’s excluding the 18% mandatory gratuities charge.
Overall, great hotel. Whether you are here for a business trip or a romantic weekend getaway, this luxury hotel can fit your needs without you having to spend thousands of dollars at the ultra-​posh 5 star hotels nearby.

I had the best experience here.
It was my birthday weekend and months ago I decided to visit LA and most importantly visit some placed that I had bookmarked for the past few years.
Upon entry there was a bottle of wine, chocolates and macaroons waiting upon our arrival and then on my actual bday there was a bottle of champagne and a red velvet cupcake sent up. It’s the small touches like that which make you feel super special. Galina (Guest Relations/​VIP Manager) is amazing and really made my stay here super special and flawless!
Rooms:
We stayed in a suite which was very spacious and comfy. The room came with a balcony that had a nice view of the city, 2 robes, mini fridge, snacks, KY lubricant and a queen size bed. We stayed on the 5^th floor which was cool because it wasn’t too high up and just right.
Breakfast:
I love food any time of day, but breakfast here was amazing. It’s a fabulous buffet with food from various cultures and everything was delicious with plenty of vegetarian options as well. We had vouchers so our breakfast was complimentary. I’m not sure how much it is because if I had to guess I’d say $ 50+ because of the variety, fresh ingredients, and great quality.
Location:
I particularly enjoyed the hotel location because it’s somewhat secluded yet in the center of it all. You can walk to the mall, but everywhere else you’ll need a car.
We took Über and Zipcar everywhere (there’s a Zipcar lot about 3 blocks away), and the hotel provides a car service that drops you off anywhere within a 2 mile radius.
It’s conveniently located close to plenty of restaurants, Rodeo Drive and more.
Other notes:
–The lobby is gorgeous and provides the best backdrop for pictures. We had a field day snapping pictures for Instagram. No filter needed.
— The entire hotel was very clean and well kept.
–The outdoor pool has cabanas and plenty of lounge chairs. We laid out for hours on an early Monday afternoon and had a relaxing time before our flights.
–Housekeeping came everyday and were super fast and sweet. I felt bad because I left a pair of undies on the floor and she folded them for me… I tipped extra that day.
Overall we had the best stay. The staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs and requests. I highly recommend Intercontinental if you’re planning on visiting LA and need a luxurious experience.

This is a situation, where – based on the reviews here on Unilocal and on TripAdvisor – I expected a bit of an oasis amidst LA Hotel Hell. I did not get what I expected.
The hotel is severely showing its age and in need of a facelift in key areas.
The room — very standard, but not up to par for the higher-​end InterContinental brand nor for the price. – left much to be desired. The Kuerig machine was filthy. The bath amenities were ultra-​generic, no better quality than what you would get at Holiday Inn. The carpet was a hot mess. Desk was far too small to be functional for real laptop work and was also crammed with too much stuff.
The restaurant was also a huge miss. And the only food option on property. Typically at a hotel of this size there might be a grab-​and-​go café or a Starbucks-​type kiosk for those who don’t want to (nor do not have time to) sit down for a meal. I was hopeful that the restaurant would deliver great food. It did not. The two breakfasts I had (both from the menu, not buffet), were quite terrible, especially for the price.
Based on my most recent experience here, I don’t think I’d stay here again nor recommend.

While down in LA and Irvine for a couple of photoshoots, I had a few several thousand IHG points that I wanted to burn before they expired in a few months. While IHG has a ton of hotels, I was only interested in using the points for their flagship hotels aka the Intercontinental Brand. At first, the reviews online of the hotel disappointed me a bit; a low end 4 stars for a 5 star hotel in Beverly Hills? Man, did I make the right choice?
So what did feel about this hotel?
I found myself admiring the newly renovated suites that the kind front agent put me in. Since I presented my IHG Platinum card, they quickly upgraded me and presented 600 IHG points or a welcome amenity kit. I chose the latter and had a plate of chocolates and two bottle of water, all served up on a nice ceramic ware. Wi-​Fi was free as part of the Platinum member status, which was pretty fast for the hotel! Ah, nothing beats a couple caramel chocolate bites while editing pictures and reading up on the latest news.
The room was an executive suite, basically averaging around 700 square feet. The bedroom has its own California King bed, a separate living room with a nice dining area, a walk-​in shower and a separate tub for the bubble baths (which I was too tired and anxious for), as well as a LED TV in the living room and in the bedroom. My room (338) was part of the newly renovated floors, and so aromatic carpets, coupled with a attractive duo earth tones made this an exciting visit!
Needless to say, it was absolutely stunning. Spectacular architecture, comfortable bed (really comfy), a room that smells good (which is a huge bonus), great location and the view at night was pretty nice, although I didn’t face the city. I’m a bit sure a lot of reviews online are all catered towards the un-​renovated rooms, but with this new style, I’m definitely a fan of this hotel!
Bottom line, this top-​of-​the-​line IHG hotel serves as the commercial center for LA’s TV and movie industry, catering to the celebrities and big CEOs with posh bedrooms, great views and all the glitz and glamour anyone can ask for. A free S-​Class car service, a sushi bar, a pretty amazing breakfast buffet and the overall ambiance of the hotel is well worth the points and night!
