The tikka masala is NOWHERE as good as India’s Tandoori on Wilshire. But hey, it’s $ 7 bucks. The masala was way too salty and not enough tomato-y or creamy. Ah well.

This place offers cheap and very tasty indian food. I can tell that the indian food doesn’t taste very authentic and is more an «americanized» version. However, the flavors are still pretty tasty here and everything is under $ 10! I would recommend getting the chicken tikki masala with some naan bread. You can never go wrong with chicken Tikki Masala. Food here is served quickly and there is plenty of seating around the food court.

Really good. Came here because I’ve been craving Indian food for a while. The food was fresh and tasty. It’s fast and the Naan is only $ 1/order. Best type of fast food.

Ok so you need Fast-food Indian option? come here! I came here after a gym session(not my usual, after gym meal) but their food here taste fresh and very good. Not a sit down place necessarily type food but still very good. The location in inside the food court at Fig and 7th. Very convenient and most of the time plenty of seating to pick from. The prices are also fair and they have many options to what you can order from. The staff here is also very nice and helpful. Try avoiding the 12 noon rush hours during the weekday but anytime after that its not too bad of a wait. Again, they seem to make most of their for fresh so it taste a bit sometimes. If in the area I would definitely recommend, but remember, it is a fast-food type Indian place so don’t expect the best tasting food. Either way, I will be back, I think its worth a shot when in the mood.

With so much to choose from at the food court at Fig and 7th, you might be forgiven to have looked past Indus by Saffron. But that would be a missed opportunity for a fresh and tasty lunch. Their mission: ‘to serve delicious Indian food in a modern, quick-casual setting’ has been ably accomplished. At least, that’s my takeaway from their efficient, flexible and delicious takeout option. I tried the tandoori and curry combo. Talk about best of many worlds. The tandoori chicken was fresh, moist and flavorful. The option I choose to go with was the Sag Paneer, which was outstanding. Might have been too good. While they tell me the big fave most choose as their curry is the Tiki Masala, well, that’s just more chicken, too, so why not mix it up? Other options exist, too, so I guess there’s more reasons to get ya coming back. White or Brown rice — no extra charge. Cool. All this with tax for $ 10. That’s a quality, hearty and reasonable Downtown Lunch, imo. And, while they have some very tempting add-ons(samosas; naan.), I got by just fine with my Combo. Service was helpful, laidback and efficient. The to-go container was solid, with no spillage. Another good thing! Glad to have enjoyed a bit of Chef Singh’s dream.

Not bad at all… actually pretty good! I had the chicken curry and chana curry with brown rice. Everything was tasty and cooked well. The rice, granted, is plain so I’d suggest having them pour some of the curry sauce over it for extra yum. It’s a food court eatery, so nothing fancy but the price is right and service was friendly. I’d go back for sure.

This is one of my go-to spots for lunch during weekdays at work. They are super quick and efficient, and the food is consistent. My favorite menu item is the Chicken Curry(chicken simmered in a savory tomato-onion sauce) with brown rice. My second option is the Chicken Tikka Masala. Absolutely tender and juicy chicken! All dishes come with white rice, but you can substitute to brown rice FORFREE! The bowl is plenty as a lunch meal, and you can always add a delicious Samosa for $ 2(or have two Samosa’s for $ 3) to accompany your meal. The bowl allows you to pick one curry + rice for $ 7, while the plate will allow two curries + rice or sallad for $ 9. There are two kinds of sauces available to grab — also for free! One is the fresh Mint sauce, which will give the food a wonderful mint flavor, and possible dampen the heat from the other sauce, the Spicy Red Sauce(name unknown). This is truly a killer sauce, so be cautious. A tip is to balance the heat with the Mint sauce, as it will help cleansing and cooling the pallet. You don’t want to pour it all over your food, because it will burn and you may have to take the rest of the day off from work. Well. perhaps that is a good thing if you want to have an excuse to go home earlier… However, they do have water cups and cold water, as do most(all?) the restaurants inside Figat7th.

I am pretty particular when it comes to Indian food, not because I am an expert or anything, but my tastebuds aren’t as adventurous when it comes to some spices in Indian cuisine. We tried the chicken tikka masala, saak paneer and the chicken curry. They were all very flavorful and delicious! Every curry was yum! The mint sauce was so good, I poured it all over my brown rice and dipped the chicken in it. The spicy sauce was good too but it had a very hard kick to it! My mouth was on fire! I was very pleased with the free substitution for brown rice too! I would definitely eat here again.

My co-workers and I decided to walk to FIGat7th for lunch and after exploring the food court, I decided to give this place a try. I am not too familiar with Indian curries so the menu was a bit intimidating because I didn’t know the differences between the curries listed. After pondering for a few minutes, I decided to get the Chicken Tikki Masala bowl with a mango lassi. I waited about 5 minutes for my order to come out. Service was quick & friendly. After I got my order, I grabbed a container of hot sauce and one of mint and got seated. I immediately fell in love with the curry after the first bite — it was delicious! I could taste the different spices and it taste even better after I mixed in some hot sauce and mint sauce! The mango lassi was also amazing! I have never tasted anything like it – it was sweet, creamy, and refreshing! I really enjoyed my meal here and hope to come back soon to try other items. I will definitely order a Mango Lassi each time I visit this place! ;-)

The food was AWESOME! I got the platter with chicken curry and tikka masala, my bf had the saag paneer, they all tasted very delicious! Garlic naan was our favorite of all! Even without the curry, it tasted so good by itself, very fresh and fluffy! Was VERY impressed and satisfied! :D

Saffron is an Indian fast food chain that has the reputation of serving great food at decent prices. I am not sure why Saffron created a sub-branch called Indus as it serves similar styles of food as its other restaurants. Their naan is infamous, especially since you can see them making it fresh, right in front of your eyes. There is three primary sauces/curry-tikka masala, deepa pali(I think), and regular curry. There are also combo options offered, where you get salad added. You also get to ask for extra diced white onions on the side. The food, every time I have ordered from Saffron, has been delicious. The consistent quality of the food makes it a great choice for lunch. Their naan, when it’s fresh out of the oven like structures, is crispy and not too dry. The prices are even better, about $ 7 for a single bowl. The naan is 1.50 for a single one, I believe. There is usually a long line during lunch time. They also sell lassi here too.

This is a fast indian fix, the garlic naan and the chicken tikka masala are amazing! The mango lassi is not that great, but for 2.75. The service was pretty fast today on a Thursday night. Remember this closes at 9 pm.

This is my favorite place in the 7th at Fig Food court. It is fast, healthy, vegetarian, tastes good, and they offer free sauces and cucumber infused water. If you are in a hurry like I usually am and like Indian food, I would recommend going here and getting the Peeli Daal Bowl on brown rice if you want a super healthy yet flavorful vegetarian dish that will fill you up. I then get a plain naan and smother it with all of the green sauce I can to really fill me up.

Indus is Saffron’s little sister. You can get the same quality and menu from indus if you are craving Saffron Indian. Tandoori chicken combo($ 9.95): tandoori chicken, one curry and rice. I picked my usual tikka masala and it was not bad. Indus is located inside 7th and Figueroa TASTE food court. 3.5 stars! Indus by Saffron is kinda yummylicious!

My goal is to Unilocal every eatery at Fig@7th. It helps that I work about a block away. This is my 3rd review. Indus is an Indian joint right next to Oleego in the food court area. I have been here a number of times, and today I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Combo, which consists of a boneless chicken breast with a curry, I got Chicken Tikka Masala, white rice, and a salad. I topped that off with an Indian favorite, root beer. Alton Brown warned about boneless chicken breasts, saying that they tend to be try, however, this Tandoori chicken breast was wonderfully moist and flavorful. I usually just get a curry here, so it was interesting to try something different. I would definitely have this again, even though it breaks my cardinal rule of downtown luncheries, i.e. $ 10 and under. However, it is a lot of food, and very delicious. Indus did adhere to my other cardinal downtown eatery rule, which is «in and out in 30 minutes or less.» I got there early, so my food was out with lighting speed, but even during busy periods they are able to keep the line moving at a satisfying clip. By the way, they do prepare fresh naan here – plain or garlic – I didn’t order it, because I usually can’t finish it.. .and with the size of the portion of my combo, I definitely would not have finished it. Eventually I want to review all of the curries at Indus, but I have a lot of other eateries to review first. Eat to Live, Live to Eat!

I love Indian food but I rarely get to eat it! I’m so glad there’s a fast food Indian joint in DTLA! It’s fast and perfect for lunch breaks. I love that it’s located in a food court– not everyone I eat with is down for Indian food so it’s nice that there’s so many options for them. There’s also plentiful seating. I always get the chicken tikki masala bowl! The sauces they provide are BOMB! The red one is spicy but soooo addicting! And of course, garlic naan is a must! I personally thought the tandoori chicken was dry but maybe I had it on a bad day. If you’re in DTLA and want a bomb meal for under ten bucks, this is the spot for you!

INDUS, how I adore you!!! How often can you find Indian fast food in a popular food court?! Practically NEVER. In fact, Indian fast food is pretty hard to find, especially in DTLA. The TASTE food court at FIGat7th is so diverse – and Indus is definitely among one of the more unique options. For under $ 10 for lunch, you can get a TON of food – good food at that! I typically order the Channa(chick pea) Masala with brown basmati rice(no extra charge, SCORE!), but when I’m feeling FAMISHED I go for the combo plate(2 curries) and do the Saag Paneer & Channa Masala(both vegetarian options). The Peeli Daal(lentils) is also a great contender. I basically tried every single vegetarian curry here, and YOUCANTGOWRONG! The garnish the rice and curries with diced cilantro and it’s just adds that extra freshness to the dish! You would think because it’s fast-Indian that the quality would suck, but the food is BOMB. The curries are flavorful and surprisingly pretty authentic for«Americanized» Indian food, with all the right spices. It’s a flavor packed meal at a great price. And DON’T YOUDARE go to Indus and not try their sauces! Their ‘Chili Blend’ hot sauce is SOOOKILLLER. I grab 2 of those every time. It has the perfect amount of heat and flavor that really compliments the curries without overpowering the dish. The hot sauce is thick and creamy that it honestly could be a curry on it’s own IMO! They also have a ‘Mint’ sauce that is green. It’s also RIDICULOUS I’m not surprised)– fresh, minty, and a little tangy– I can eat that sauce ALLDAY with just rice alone. THATGOOD.
