This restaurant is on the second floor of an office complex and looks like it tries too hard to be fancy. But, hey, if that’s the way they roll… At first glance, the menu looks pricey, but honestly the flavors make it so worth. Lamb masala(4⁄5): tasty, hearty servings of lamb Coconut milk sauce+fish(5⁄5): This dish was by far my favorite. Oh my god, the layers of the sauce are so distinct and rich. I’ve tried many Indian restaurants and there’s just something different about it. It doesn’t look like anything special(just orange sauce) but looks aren’t everything. Chef’s sauce chicken(2⁄5): Don’t get this. I’m not actually sure what’s in it but it has this really weird lumpy texture that doesn’t dissolve well. The servings are small, but we ordered 3 dishes for 4 people and even had some to take home. They don’t give you that much rice, so we ordered 2 servings of naan. Each serving has 4 pieces, and for some reason, it took forever for the server to bring it to us. Overall, the service is good and they come so often to refill your water it gets annoying lol.

Best Indian food on the westside! I love this place, have been coming here for years and the food is consistently delicious and the service is wonderful. One of the servers, Phali, is especially kind and helpful. Highly recommended!!!

Definitely a fan! Having lived in London for 2 years, I am a bit picky with my Indian curries. This is definitely my favorite place in Los Angeles. The lunch buffet is the BEST value. You can pick from 5 – 6 dishes(lots of veggie options), and it comes with rice & garlic naan. There’s even a little salad bar(fruit and rice pudding available, depending on the day) — all for about $ 10. I would recommend street parking if you’re a chatterbox like me. They validate for 1 hour, but if you’re even a minute over, it’s $ 3… and it goes up and up from there. Brentwood adjacent, so parking prices are quite ridiculous. 90% of my visit here, I had the lunch buffet… but when I ordered off the menu, it was super slow and not worth the cost, because you have to order the naan and rice separately. I would just stick with the buffet. All in all, food is great & staff is friendly!

Lunch buffet… always a good deal. good selection for meat and veggie eaters. The raita is refreshing. And the kheer is my favorite here in LA. Make sure they give you the garlic naan, so much better than the plain. When ordering a la carte, prices are a little steep, but for a slight splurge, worth the money for tasty food. The chicken tikka masala is a good balance of tomato and cream. I love when they have the mushroom or tofu dishes for the buffet. The goan fish curry is also really flavorful. The chana masala and eggplant are also go-tos. Parking is underneath, and validation is for 1 hour(keep track of your time). When you get to the level that there is space, it’s the semi-valet where they will take your key(parking is 2 cars deep), but you can still park your own car. I usually tip $ 1 – 2 just to be nice, and they remember me with that. The owner Sham is so nice… makes you feel so welcome to his restaurant.

The lunch buffet is just $ 9.99 during the week, and it’s really worth it. They have a nice selection of pretty good Indian food as well as a little salad and dessert bar(with limited selections, but it’s better than nothing). I went around noon on a Monday, and it was pretty quiet and calm. But by 12:30, more people started to roll in, and the ambiance became more lively. There’s free residential parking just across the street if you don’t want to park in the structure on the premises.

2.75 Stars I came here with a large group of people for dinner. It is located in Wilshire Medical building, on the second floor. There is a parking garage not too far away, and they will validate the parking after eating. Décor: The restaurant is fairly small and has a distinct Indian flavor. All the décor is Indian and it smells very heavily of spices. There is a bar right when you enter and the dining area is in the back. One side of the restaurant in windows with a nice view of Westwood. We made reservations are were sat immediately. Food: We ordered 3 orders of garlic naan, 3 mango lassi, Chicken Tikki, Lamb Curry, Shani Paneer, and Saag paneer. The garlic naan was good, although crispier than I normally like it. The mango lassi just tasted like a creamy mango smoothie, nothing special. The lamb curry was overly salty and did not look very appetizing. The chicken tikki was my favorite. The sauce was very flavorful and perfectly seasoned. However, the chicken was overcooked and very dry on the inside. The shani and saag were good, nothing too amazing. The flavor of the shani was very similar to the tikki, just with vegetables instead of chicken. They also gave us free rice pudding as dessert. Service: The waiter kept coming back and asking us what we wanted to eat, even though we just sat down. Then when we were finally ready to order, he was no where to be found. He also was very condescending because none of us could pronounce the dishes or knew very much about Indian food. He was laughing and scoffing at us during the entire ordering process. Also we took a while to split the bill, and he was once again very annoyed, in a mean manner. Overall this is a nice place for traditional Indian food and flavors, but the lunch buffet is probably a better deal. My meal costed around $ 25 total, very expensive for an okay Indian restaurant. The service was terrible, a big reason for the low stars. The chicken tikki was very good, although the meat was dry; and the other dishes were just good.

OMG that fish curry! I could eat that all day everyday for a whole freaking year! Please do yourself a favour and try the fish curry at least once, whether during the buffet hours or dinner service. The subtle sweetness of the onion really complements the savory white fish fillet. Very friendly service, and fast too. Nice interior too; none of the cracked table and broken chair that I tend to forgive at other Indian restaurants. Mango lassi is a bit on the gratuitously sweet side though, so think twice before you order that.

I’ve come here several times and everytime we were seated right away and they give the table papad with mint chutney, sweet tamarind sauce and pickled carrots right away. I’ve always gone there when I was dying of hunger so this always helps quench that immediately but not completely so I can enjoy the food. All the sauces I’ve ordered here including malai kofta, chettinad chicken, fish curry, and matar paneer were really good. They serve them in what seems like small serving sizes but it usually turns out to be just enough or too much. The spice level is very high at this restaurant. So unless you have the taste buds to handle a high level of spice, don’t go for anything higher than medium spice. Any naan that you order is one large naan cut in four, so several naans would need to be ordered to finish the sauces, unless you decide to order some rice. The gobi manchurian is amazing. Probably my favorite item on the menu. They always provide a small bowl of rice kheer for everyone after the meal is over. It’s a very simple dessert(rice milk and sugar) but I personally love it! So I recommend saving some space for that. It is free of charge. The waiters are very attentive and accommodating.

Ordered a takeout close to the closing time. The servers were very polite, the ambience casual, and the food came in about 15 mins or so. They were nice enough to also validate the parking ticket. For a party of 4, we ordered achari chicken, rice, biryani, veg thalli, and nans. The quantity of the food was very good for the price. The food itself tasted fresh and AMAZING. The spice level(medium +) was just right, and the flavors were excellent. The food was maybe one of the best I have had in norCal or SoCal.

One of the best Indian restaurant in west LA. I came here because I saw an article published in LA times about the biryani they serve and they did a very good job with that. Served with Raita DUM biryani is their new speciality. Not only this they have wide range of foods available either you want vegan, gluten free food, vegetarian so and so. I recommend to have one biryani and one al a carte at least. They have authentic South Indian food with coconut milk gravy that’s something different and good. Besides there’s hassle free public parking in the structure and the elevator takes you to the restaurant on the second floor. Very comfy place with view of wilshire Blvd.

My friend and I came in for lunch one day after hearing about it from a friend. It wasn’t too busy, but it was filled for such an intimate place. I guess they do buffet lunch for $ 13 which isn’t too bad, But it caught US off guard since we came in expecting menus. It’s on the second floor, so we had a nice view of Wilshire, which was actually nicer than you would think. The buffet did come w a basket of pita bread for each table though, which was nice. Also, their service is slow. It took a lot to get a waiter to get us water and our pita bread. But they do try to be attentive.

I just recently moved from NY and as a celebration of me finding a job me, my boyfriend and our roommates went to dinner to this place. Short and simple, the food was great from the appetizers to the main course. We got the Gobi Manchurian — I would say the best I have had in the U. S and the chicken flute which everyone loved. The servers were incredibly nice, they were prompt and made us feel very comfortable. We ordered the Chicken tikka masala and the vegetable korma, butter naan and the onion kulcha. It was great. :*}. The only two things I want to point out is that the entrees does not come with rice, which is actually the standard everywhere else. And my boyfriend said the chicken was a bit dry . But over all a pleasant experience and a happy tummy. :) We will be back.

This was my first time ever eating at an Indian restaurant and I was very impressed. As you walk upstairs you’re greeted by a waiter and seated at a booth. It looks kind of upscale in the fact that you’re on the 2nd floor looking out to the city. The food was REALLY good. Chicken Curry: 4.5÷5 — This was really creamy and not super oily like some curries I’ve had. I would eat this often if it wasn’t so unhealthy. Chicken Tikka Masala: 5⁄5 — I actually liked this more than the chicken curry. It had a very mild/spicy taste that I liked. Naan and rice: 4.5 — it was good! We also got complimentary rice desserts that were delicious! Service was great.

Read reviews. Loved what I saw. Decided to get some Indian food from India’s Oven. Ate there. I wish I had chosen another spot for Indian cuisine. So, I’m driving to India’s Oven and was unaware I passed the location; I called for direction. The person that answered simply recited the address, then I asked for a landmark and the response was«Wells Fargo». It didn’t seem like he knew English well, which was part of the ongoing challenge of the night. Upon arrival, we were seated. The chairs had some left over debris that should have been cleaned prior to seating guests, like toothpicks. After swatting them off the chair myself, I sat and ordered with the first waiter to stop by. My friend and I inquired about the complimentary samosas and they brought out only two-which were mushy inside. Meanwhile, we asked for ice water because they were serving room temp water. One of the waiters came by with a few ice cubes and put his hand to the rim of our glass! I was done drinking my water at that instance! I asked for curry chicken made spicy. My friend ordered the mango lassi-the best she’s ever had according to her, and tandoori chicken. My chicken tasted nor looked anything like curry. It was simply chicken with spices. My friend wasn’t ecstatic about her food either, total bummer. At the end of dinner, we were served complimentary rice pudding, without the pudding consistency. Pure liquid, and my friend and I both passed on that. Somehow waiters switched and our new waiter seemed to not know English well-we asked for our tab three times. The reviews tricked me!

Stopped here one day for a quick lunch. I must say their food is as delicious as the Indian food I make at home. I could tell that all the ingredients are fresh and made to order. Since it was lunch time, I opted for the lunch buffet. They had so many varieties of dishes… and all so delicious! Some of the dishes that I thought were amazing was the Aloo Gobi, Saag Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Tikki, and their mouthwatering Samosas. The flavors in each dish has the perfect amount of spices and and salt. I highly recommend the channa curry. Their Tandoori Chicken was fresh out of the tandoor. It had a very spicy lemony flavor and their Garlic naan is to die for! Service was great. Very friendly staff. Price for the lunch buffet is very affordable, which includes mango lassi and kheer(a sweet rice pudding with raisins.) Definitely coming back here with family and friends!

Another wonderful experience at this place! We usually come here on Sunday and every time we come here, they treat us like family! We love the samosas at the beginning with the raita! We also get a medley of stuff like the chicken, beef, and naan bread. We end the meal with rice pudding and a lovely hello from the manager/owner. PS we love the indian music in the background!

Parking: underground garage, 1 hour restaurant validation. Tried their lunch buffet today. We came around 1pm and it was still extremely crowded. When we got there the lunch buffet items had all been cleaned off so we waited until a new batch was brought in. Everything was fresh and tasty… however so many people were there that when a new dish comes out be prepared to jump into line because the food goes quick! That was the only downside, too many people means you can’t leisurely get food, but if you want to avoid crowds just come at non-prime lunch hours. Very vegetarian friendly which is great for my veggie friends. I sampled and enjoyed two types of chicken dishes, chicken tandoori, lentils, this cabbage and tomato dish, biryani(had nice bits of cumin seed in it and was very flavorful), and spinach and cheese dish. From other reviews it looks like they change their menu frequently for more variety. Tried the mango lassi because of other rave Unilocal reviews. It’s worth the hype! Very creamy and you can taste the fresh ripe mango inside. Probably the best mango lassi I’ve ever had. Extremely refreshing, and I would order this again. The guys there are nice and even remembered us from the last time we were there. And they gave us a discount! Great service again!

Great night at India’s Oven. We came here on a Wednesday evening and we were seated promptly. Parking: Free! Use the parking structure on 11650 Wilshire(right next door) and you get free parking! Also, note that the restaurant is on the second floor if you take the elevator up. Ambience: Classy-casual. Its a casual restaurant but has a nice feel. The dim lighting, view of Wilshire, deep/royal colors added to the fanciness of the restaurant. Appetizers: We were planning on ordering a gobi manchurian, and the manager gave us a free one because we were all UCLA students! Nevertheless, the gobi manchurian was the perfect blend of crispiness, tenderness, and spiciness. Food: We ordered two entrees and 2 garlic naans to split between 3 of us. We ended up taking half home because we were so full already. We ordered the bhegan bharta and the channa masala, both delicious. The bhegan bharta was a little too spicy, but the flavors were so good I couldn’t stop myself from eating it. The channa masala was also good, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the bhegan. Garlic naan is always my favorite, and it was pretty good. Personally I prefer my garlic naan to be a little thicker, but it was still seasoned well and cooked well. Service: The manager and wait staff were extremely kind to the three of us and frequently asked if we needed anything. I kept drinking water to cool off from the spice, and every time my glass emptied, one of the waiters was there promptly to fill it up. Overall, I’d definitely come here again, and possibly order in. The food was great and I would absolutely recommend it to friends!
