I never planned to eat here, but unfortunately I did. The traffic on the 405 was horrendous, even more so than usual. As a result, my planned dining experience before my cross-country flight(before departing from LAX) quickly evaporated. With no time to spare, I made a quick decision to eat at the Home Turf Express near my airplane’s gate over the choice of eating«airplane food.» Poor decision on my part. The small sandwich that I chose, from the stack of mulled-over options by previously unimpressed customers, was a ham cheddar ciabatta. It wasn’t real bad, but the options I later saw being served on the airplane made me realize that it was a poor decision. The options sold on my airplane were even cheaper as well. So what kind of food makes you wish that you had rather chosen airplane food? Apparently, the food at the Home Turf Express. There’s nothing better than spending $ 12 on a small sandwich that barely fits in your hand. I expect higher prices in an airport, but this is ridiculous. There was hardly anything in the middle too, which later made me glad that I got the«free» mayonnaise and mustard(which was well-protected behind the counter), so that I could make this a complete meal. If you have a chance to grab food here, don’t; Even airplane food is better. They are terribly overpriced for mediocre food. The only positive about this establishment during my visit was the employee at the cash register, who was friendly and efficient; She deserved 4 stars. The management here doesn’t deserve any for their price gouging. I’ll compromise here and give them 2 stars overall, which is pretty generous on my part.

Absolutely RIPOFF! The prices are past ludicrous! One tuna sandwich was $ 12! I would have not purchased anything if there were prices POSTED in the kiosk. NOPRICES anywhere. I got to the counter and was in shock when the cashier told me that my sandwich was $ 12! It was 5:00 a.m. and I was too lazy to walk to find something else to eat. The sandwich was dry, tasteless, and nasty. AVOID! Food Grade: D– Service Grade: D– Worth the Money Grade: F Overall Impression Grade: F

The prices at this place are ludicrous. 2 sandwiches, a salad and a couple of bags of chips rang up to $ 48. When I mentioned that it seemed like a lot more than I thought it would be, the cashier said, «oh, I surprise you?» and then laughed. I should have just left and not paid, but I was facing a long flight w the kids. Don’t get ripped off like me!

The price gouging here is a bit out of control. $ 12 for a plain turkey sandwich? Come on guys. I get it. It’s LA. It’s the airport. But I had extreme sticker shock when I got to the register. If the quality of the sandwich was good I wouldn’t be writing this. It wasn’t. Dry and nearly tasteless. It was simply fuel for my body before hopping on my 6 hour flight. The only reason this place gets 2 stars instead in 1 is because they pour some local Angle City beers, which I think is cool. I don’t know the price of those though, nor do I want to. I’d recommend you grab some food elsewhere in the airport before getting to this terminal and being taken like a fool.
