I graduated from the school last year, and I must say that I’m so happy I went here. Since I’ve graduated I thought back and taken continued education courses and every time I walk in it just feels like I’m walking into my own house and spending time with my own family. I love the relaxed atmosphere and yet, you learn so much from all of the instructors. I would recommend the school to anyone for massage certification. Since I’ve graduated I’ve been working as a massage therapist, I had no trouble finding work, and I haven’t had any clients complain about my technique, and I know I owe this to Hands On Healing and my instructors

I graduated from a short 150 CMT hour program in 2009 and took a few jobs here and there working in chiropractic offices and small spas, without making massage my main source of employment until recently. I loved the classes and instructors, but I had no idea how the training I received at Hands on Healing compared to other massage schools. I am constantly told I have given customers the best massage they have ever received, and have the highest client return rate everywhere I work. The small amount of training I received from HHI has been invaluable, I don’t think other schools come close to the quality of HHI. I plan on taking classes in the very near future to continue a career I love and have more great training to offer clients. Thank you to HHI for caring enough to teach at the high standards that you do :)

This is my review from 2012. I realize I never finished it now that I’m updating my Unilocal account.
I took the MT250 a few years ago and also completed over 500 hours thru the school. I took this after my grandmother passed. I moved back to LA to take care of her in her final year and I was at a lost after her passing. I originally took this program more for self care and learning bodywork, which was a huge switch from working as a case worker.
I really did enjoy the MT250 program. My classmates where really interested in learning as much as they can, and it was such a great environment. I really do miss it. Some of my classmate, now work there. I would recommend the program to people who are more into a more holistic touch. They do a really good job watching the students and their progress.
The two programs I fell in love with once I finished my MT250 was:
Energy Work — My teacher was Heather White and she did a great job teaching the program. I completed that program.
Focus on Fascia: Myofascial Stretching — My teacher was and still is Frances Nicolais. This is a great program for people who are more into treatment massages. I still will pop in and take classes from her time to time.
What am I up to now? I had surgery on my ankle which I am still recovering from and I still rent a shared therapy room with a few other people. I am planing to go back and work pt as a body and energy worker when I am able to bend my ankle more. My main source of income in a non related field. I never planned to be a full time bodywork when I enter the program but I have classmates who did and are making a full time living from it.
Overall: This school and teachers were an amazing vessel and guild to have taken an amazing journey with. It was really life changing for me.
I have meet other people who taken MT from other schools, who share their experience with me, and I’m so happy I picked this one. When you pick a school, make sure that the program matches your personalty and style of learning. There is no one size fit all in life and the teachers in this program understand that.

I am a student in the MT250 daytime class & so grateful to have found Hands On Healing Institute! If you are serious about your profession and are researching schools, make sure you set up an appointment to tour this one. If you have questions, (no matter how insignificant you feel they might be!) ALL of them will be answered with respect, patience & kindness. I’ve learned so much in just 9 weeks so far & am looking forward to Continuing Education Courses down the road! You will receive invaluable information every class, taught by experienced & very knowledgeable instructors. If something is unclear, they will stay with you until you completely understand. I’m so happy I walked in these doors back in April. The time has just flown by. HHI has truly changed my life, mind, body, & spirit, forever!

Hands On Healing is one of my favorite places. I love the healthy environment they have cultivated here over the years. I have taken the MT250 Swedish Massage program and grown so much from the experience.
Andrea & Sharon are the best teachers you could ask for. They are knowledgeable and patient, working with each individual to help them reach their full potential.
Cami and Jordon are the family who began and continue to run the school. They are committed to providing a safe and professional space for people to learn appropriate touch and connect with others.
The Aromatherapy and Myofascial Release are great elective classes to continue on with after your initial training. They have over 2500 hours of electives to choose from.
The HHI alumni family is a group of supportive people to ask for advice or find a position working as a therapist.
My entire life changed in a year thanks to the people I met and knowledge I have gained here. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn how to connect with others and understand the human body on a deeper level. Wish you the best of luck in 2014!

I am graduating from the MT250 program in less than a week, and I can’t tell you how much I have loved every second of this experience.
When I first came to HHI, I was a different person. I was a stressed out, uptight, grumpy, and sleep deprived corporate robot. I almost didn’t choose to attend HHI, but something in my gut told me this was where I belonged. This journey has been so life changing and conducive to self discovery and growth that you won’t believe me unless you experience it for yourself.
I feel like there is so much I want to say about this school and the awesome people who make it possible for people like me to become something so much greater:
Cami, the director of the school is just an awesome lady. She always checks in on students to see how you are doing, and makes you feel right at home. She is like the cool aunt that you always wanted to have.
Jordon and Kayla are the office admin personnel. Jordon runs a tight ship and handles business, but still manages to keep things very personable and friendly. Kayla is always quick to help with whatever you need from taking payments to purchasing new materials to helping get transcripts.
Sharon is the evening teacher and such an amazing, vibrant person to be around. I had the pleasure of being taught be her a few times while she was sitting in for our regular instructor. Such a blast.
Kaytee is a teacher in training and has been a regular in all of our daily activities. She is on her way to becoming a great instructor. Her enthusiasm is contagious, her intelligence is admirable, and her presence has been inspiring.
Cynthia is another teacher in training, and while she frequents the night class more than my class, I have dubbed her my ‘lucky charm’ because she has a way of explaining things that just makes it click. I have enjoyed learning with her and Kaytee immensely.
Andrea is the daytime MT250 instructor and also the associate director. Her teaching style and genuine care for her students is nothing short of stellar. I have never encountered someone so open and supportive of their students. Her knowledge is profound, not only technically, but practically as well (not only with massage, with life and everything in general). It has been absolutely mind blowing and amazing to have been a part of her class.
Francis, Eloise, and Nora have taught us business, ethics, chair massage, and introduction to fascia. All three are top notch teachers and really know their stuff.
I think the difference between HHI and any other school is that HHI really cares about making sure what they are teaching is going to stick. They are passionate about bodywork and massage, and it really comes through in everything. They don’t only teach you to apply massage, they teach you how to treat a person, what to expect out in the real world, how to protect yourself, how to grow your business and help people. They won’t make you go broke learning, and they won’t hound you like a used car salesman like those crappy career colleges either. I can’t stress enough about how much they really do care about people.
After the MT250 program I am excited to delve into the many elective courses available. There really is such an extensive amount of knowledge to be gained at HHI and it is an experience not to be missed.

When I was researching schools in the LA area, what stuck out was Hands On Healing’s advanced electives. If you’re not a believer in Holistic medicine/​health, just taking their MT250 will change your mind and make you think.
The Hands on Healing approach to massage is a world away from traditional massage where people think if the massage therapist beats you up, you’re getting a great deep tissue massage. You’re not going to get beat up by a Hands On Healing graduate, they’ll be getting to deep tissue in a smooth relaxing way that is unexplainable. You will be relaxed!
Camille Sandroni is the owner and the first person I emailed and met. What a great person, she was more interested in helping me, never had the feel of a used car salesman like the others schools trying to pitch their programs.
I asked to sit in on a class, not only was Andrea open and inviting, so were the students, they made me feel at home. That tells you something about this school.

I could not be more thrilled with my decision to study at HHI. I graduated from the 250 hour massage therapist program. It was an easy decision — cheaper than most schools and more interesting electives. Everyone said it would be life-​changing, which I never would have believed had I not experienced it. The instructors are absolutely top-​notch and the staff are understanding and accommodating. They really care about you and your success. It felt like a family and I’ve made some wonderful friendships in classmates and teachers. Learning technique is important, but I learned that massage is much more than that. I left prepared and excited to use my new skills as a kick-​ass therapist.
I continue to take classes at HHI, and have loved all of them, such as heated stone therapy, vibration and sound therapy, and chair massage.

It is a bit difficult to describe my experience at HHI in words, but since I must, I will say Amazing, Magical and Life Changing. You must experience it. Have a happy journey!

I am very glad I was led to the HHI CMT250 program. My experience was exceptional both from a teacher standpoint as well as my fellow classmates. The program was one of learning, inspiration and transformation. The «HHI Touch» is unique because it incorporates body, mind, and spirit. It emphasizes the importance of connection to the client with compassion and respect while maintaing boundaries. The HHI touch is one that leaves the client feeling as though they have been massaged by «healing hands.» This has been a wonderful asset for me in my private practice.

As one of the original instructors, I absolutely love teaching here. We get the very best students that are open and willing to expand their knowledge to become the very best massage therapists they can. I not only teach Business and Ethics in the core MT250 program, I also teach (with others) the structural Chair Massage track and the Focus on Fascia (Myofascial Release) track. These tracks are unique to our school and taught no where else in the city. Local spas give raves for our talented students and hire them on a regular basis. All in all, a wonderful massage school!

This school is absolutely AMAZING! It has completely changed my life for the better in so many ways even beyond education and career. I have personally experienced major healing in the program, meet fascinating role models and even made close friends along the way!

This institute is extremely GENUINE and shows so much more authenticity than other places that offer massage programs. They are privately owned, work one on one with the students and are so caring and personable!
Not only is this the best choice for massage therapy and other modalities I would say in all So. CA, but they are very AFFORDABLE ! I was so HAPPY to see the tuition compared to other schools, and HHI is not about making profits from their students, they are truly dedicated to offering the best for each and every one of their students!

I received my massage certification back in 2001 from Hands on Healing. At the time, it was a small, newer school, and I received wonderful, thorough instruction and an amazing level of care and personal support from the staff. I’ve continued to return over the years for advanced courses; what’s amazing is that although the school has grown SO much, I still feel the same level of individual attention and care from a teaching staff that is truly committed to the growth of its students on all levels.
I could say go on and on about the quality of the work that is taught: Frances’ fascia classes have brought a whole new dimension to my practice and a tool (myofascial release) that can bring immediate results to clients with chronic pain. Heather’s program of energy work classes is a life changing experience, whether you are new to energy work or an experienced practitioner. Andrea does mind-​blowing work with aromatherapy (really– you’ve gotta experience it). The chair massage instruction that I received from Frances and Nora brought clients back week after week to see me when I worked at Whole Foods. I look forward to taking the Thai massage courses in the future, and many more.
I love having the tools, ongoing instruction, and support to continually evolve my private practice; working as a massage therapist is so rewarding, yet brings such unique challenges. I believe it’s absolutely essential to have a solid base of training as well as the spiritual/​energetic foundation to support your personal growth and life balance. So very grateful to the school for providing both.

Independently owned massage schools are hard to find these days and this is a good one. Low tuition and payment plans make it affordable so you won’t end up with a huge student loan. Instead, when you graduate, you will have in your toolbox the unique «HHI Massage» that L.A. employers know so well. If you want to find out what the HHI Massage is like before committing to school, make an appointment at their Saturday clinic. It’s only $ 35! I am an HHI graduate, and I can’t recommend this school enough.

I am a graduate of HHI through their 250 program and I have loved every minute of it. When I was searching for schools it was important to me to feel like I would make a difference with my schooling. I sat down with the schools owner, Cami, and immediately felt I was in the right place.
The classes are small so you get plenty of one-​on-​one attention. You don’t feel like they just want you there for your money, they care about putting good people into the healthcare industry. HHI focuses on the therapist and how we affect people.
Their CMT 250 program is thurough and you leave feeling like you can take on the massage world. I am currently going through their Sports Massage program as well as their Focus on Fascia certification. I recommend this school to anyone looking for a school where you will be nutured, cared about and taken care of.

I attended HHI for their CMT (Certified Massage Therapist) course. What a wonderful, supportive environment to learn in. The teachers are very knowledgeable, and the price is very reasonable. If you’re thinking about attending massage school, please call them.

They have a massage clinic on Saturdays where you can get a 55 min relaxing swedish massage for only $ 35. What a deal!
